This summer, we are exploring the ways God interrupts ordinary life to invite people into something truer, deeper, and more life-giving. In Scripture and in our own stories, God's interruptions are rarely convenient but often transformative. Together, we will learn to notice how God meets us in disrupted plans, shifting expectations, and unexpected moments.

This is not a series about disruption for its own sake. It is about trusting that God is at work even when life feels uncertain or unsettled. As we slow down and pay attention, we begin to see that his interruptions are often invitations into something better than we would have chosen on our own. Sometimes the most meaningful change in our lives begins with an interruption we did not expect, but deeply need.

Life is shaped by rhythms that form who we become. Rhythms of Grace is an ongoing series that explores spiritual practices to help us grow in faith and experience God's presence. These disciplines—such as prayer, Sabbath, fasting, and more —aren't about earning God's love, but about living more fully in it. Each message will unpack a practice and provide practical tools to help you put it into action. In a world of hurry and distraction, these rhythms help us slow down and re-center on what matters most. As we follow Jesus, these practices shape us, both individually and collectively as the church, into His image.

The Gospel of John was written for people who wanted more than slogans or secondhand faith. John carefully records seven signs from the life of Jesus, not as proofs to be forced, but as testimony to be considered. These moments raise questions, spark debate, and often leave people divided—not because the signs are unclear, but because they demand interpretation. John is honest about his purpose: "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." Belief in John's Gospel is not blind certainty, but a response to what has been witnessed and recorded. This series invites space for curiosity, skepticism, and honest questions as we examine the signs together. As the evidence unfolds, each of us is left with the same quiet but unavoidable question: Who do you say that Jesus is?

In this follow-up to Kingdom Manifesto, we turn from Jesus' vision of the Kingdom to the moment it became visible in real people. Through Acts 2:42–47, this series explores how the early church embodied the revolution of Jesus in everyday life—through their devotion, their generosity, their shared life, and the power of God moving among them. The invisible Kingdom became unmistakable as their love, sacrifice, unity, and Spirit-filled courage broke into the world. In VISIBLE, we'll discover that the same Kingdom is meant to be seen through us today—ordinary believers revealing an extraordinary King, a community that looks like heaven, and a people whose lives make grace impossible to ignore.

Everyone's searching for something—hope that endures, peace that lasts, joy that overflows, love that changes everything. The Magi followed a distant light across unfamiliar terrain, unsure of where it would lead but certain it was worth the journey. This Advent, we join them. As we search for the same things, we discover that every longing finds its answer in Jesus. The search doesn't just lead us to Him—it changes the way we live when we leave His presence.

The story of Jacob's sons is messy, painful, redemptive, and beautiful. It's the story of betrayal and forgiveness, grief and healing, famine and provision. But more than that, it's the story of how God takes a broken family and forms a people through whom He will bless the whole world. From the very beginning, God's heart has been to include the outsider and heal what's been fractured. This series invites us into that story—not just to watch it unfold, but to find ourselves in it. Because God is still using crooked sticks to draw straight lines—and to build His family today.

Jesus changed the world—one table at a time. Whether He was eating with tax collectors, reclining with friends, or feeding the multitudes, Jesus used the table as a place of welcome, witness, and transformation.

In this five-week series, we'll reimagine evangelism not as a presentation to perfect, but as an invitation to extend. Using the acronym T.A.B.L.E., we'll learn how to reach those around us with love, authenticity, and boldness—one meal, one conversation, one act of kindness at a time.

Each week, we unpack a simple, intentional step that brings us closer to someone far from God—and brings them closer to the life-changing love of Jesus.

In this five-week series, we'll reimagine evangelism not as a presentation to perfect, but as an invitation to extend. Using the acronym T.A.B.L.E., we’ll learn how to reach those around us with love, authenticity, and boldness—one meal, one conversation, one act of kindness at a time.

Each week, we unpack a simple, intentional step that brings us closer to someone far from God—and brings them closer to the life-changing love of Jesus.

We want to try to make learning about Jesus simple, straightforward, and approachable by breaking big truths into small, meaningful episodes. Each episode helps you see who Jesus is, why His life matters, and how His teachings apply to everyday life. By taking in theology in bite-sized portions, you’ll grow closer to Christ and deepen your faith one step at a time.

Life is shaped by rhythms that form who we become. Rhythms of Grace is an ongoing series that explores spiritual practices to help us grow in faith and experience God’s presence. These disciplines—such as prayer, Sabbath, fasting, and more —aren’t about earning God’s love, but about living more fully in it. Each message will unpack a practice and provide practical tools to help you put it into action. In a world of hurry and distraction, these rhythms help us slow down and re-center on what matters most. As we follow Jesus, these practices shape us, both individually and collectively as the church, into His image.

As citizens of the Kingdom of God, we are called to a higher allegiance, one that transcends political parties, nations, and earthly rulers. In this series, "Voter Guide - Kingdom Allegiance in a Divided World," we explore what it means to follow Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, rather than aligning ourselves with the symbols of earthly power—the elephant or the donkey. Our allegiance is not defined by political ideologies but by the gospel of Christ.

This voter guide is not about endorsing candidates or platforms but about re-centering our hearts on who we are truly allegiant to: Jesus. Through each week of this series, we will journey through the dynamics of Kingdom citizenship and learn how to engage the world around us with a gospel-centered conscience.

In this journey, we will examine how the Lamb—Jesus, the King of Kings—guides us to live as faithful citizens of His kingdom while navigating our responsibilities on earth. Let’s be reminded that our vote matters, but more than that, our ultimate allegiance must be to Christ and His Kingdom, above all else. In our diversity, we find unity as we stand under the Lordship of Jesus, agreeing on the main thing: Jesus is King.

New outfits are always exciting. They give us this sense of a new beginning or a change or that we have things a little more together than we did before. The scriptures use the illustration of taking off old, worn-out clothes and putting on new clothes for how we encounter new life in Christ. We take off the old life, and put on the new. As we jump into the scriptures today, let us explore what "Kingdom Wear" looks like and why it matters.

We all love having that summer playlist! Certain songs and lyrics instantly can take us back to a particular moment in our lives and give us all sorts of nostalgia. Music and poetry speak to us at a deep soul level, and it is one of the ways that God speaks to his people. Join us this summer as we put together a summer playlist from the book of Psalms. Each week, we will look at some of the greatest songs ever composed and written thousands of years ago. Through these songs, we believe God will inspire, encourage, and meet us. It’s the one summer playlist that has the power to change your life.

“When someone shows you who they are, believe them” …in the book of John, Jesus is going to show us who he is, through seven I am statements. The question is do you believe him? Do you believe he is the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Light of the World, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, The Bread of Life, The Resurrection and the life? Jesus does not hesitate telling us who he is. He says that he has come to give life and life to the full…the question is, do you believe Jesus?

When we memorize Scripture, it gets committed to our memory. We learn it by heart but it’s important that it isn't just a new piece of information we insert. We don’t just want to study The Bible, we want to interact with Scripture so that it leads us TO Jesus, where we are dialoguing and talking with Him.

View Details

This prayer practice is an invitation to meet with the Lord by using your imagination as you enter into a story from Scripture. Place ourselves in the scene and imagine what you might see or smell. Then, we bring our full selves into the presence of Christ with the purpose of growing in intimacy with Him.

View Details

The foundation for this practice is that ALL of scripture is rooted in the assurance that every part of the biblical story – the letters, parables, history, prophets, and gospels – all of it, is inspired and can give voice to God’s particular word to each one of us.

View Details

We're going to take a deeper dive into studying God's word. No matter what you have going on during your week, we want to provide tools and resources to use which do not require a seminary degree or 5 hours a day to study the Bible. Our goal is to help you say "yes" to Jesus' love in your everyday life.

View Details

For our new sermon series, we will be jumping into the book of James. Each video will help encourage you to take time out of your day to dive deeper into the Bible. We hope you join us on this journey through James, and trust that God will meet you as you do!

God’s love for mankind is relentless. The story of Jonah is a subversive story where nothing is as you would expect. God pursues those who are far from him and has compassion on them. God’s prophet however, hates that God loves his enemies and even tries to thwart God’s rescue plan. This story is short and compact, is chalk full of twists and turns and makes the case that for God, people always have potential. Even when people are perceived to be our enemies, God’s love is relentless and he is inviting us into this great rescue mission. This book forces us to look in the mirror, consider our hearts and motives, and invites us into God’s great rescue plan.

The Advent season marks the beginning of the church year. Advent gives us the opportunity to practice waiting for the light of Christ’s coming into the dark places of our world and our lives. Advent literally means “arrival,” and during this season we remember the coming of Christ from the biblical story but also, we look for his presence in our lives now. The season of Advent guides us into a time of active waiting and heightens our senses as we wait watchfully and patiently for a King who will come and save us. During this season we will look at how Jesus brings Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Each week we will have a candle that we light to mark where we are in the season of advent.

The Lord’s prayer is what Jesus gives his disciples when they ask to be taught how to pray. We find that it is a prayer and an entire model of how to pray, an entire catechism of faith, a lesson in communion with God, and a call for the people of God to engage in his world. Each week we are going to do a deep dive into one part of the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray. Buckle up because the prayer of Jesus is radical and life-altering.

True faith produces fruit. We learn in the book of James, as he writes to the first-ever Christian community of believers, that faith requires action. The early church was navigating an uncertain time and James offers us many parallels for how to order our lives today. This ground-level view of the first Christian community invites us to go back to the basics. We can be reminded of the simple, and yet profound life that we all have been invited into. It doesn’t matter where you find yourself in your faith journey, James has practical and challenging words for every one of us. By living out the radical teachings that James challenges us with, we too can join in on the movement that changed the world.

What does it mean to be mature in Jesus? Are there measurables? It’s easy to measure success in lots of areas of life with things like wins, bottom lines, and grade reports. But how do we measure growth in becoming like Jesus? Paul tells us that the fruit (singular) of the spirit is not 9 individual items for us to grow in, but rather we are to grow in all of them. The work that God wants to do through you is actually the work he wants to do in you. The work of God in your life looks like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Someone once said: “We are never more like Jesus than when we serve.” Not only is that true, but we also become more and more like Jesus through our serving. God uses our serving to grow our relationship with Him. This Sunday Pastor Sam sits down with Hopevale’s Preteen director, Rob Quinn, to talk about the major role serving played in his life in growing his faith and growing his heart for ministry, and how it can grow ours as well.

We often find ourselves so caught up in worrying about others behavior matching our beliefs that we can neglect our own. Jesus points out to us that it is pointless to pre-judge others and, in the end, the fruit is what makes all the difference. Jesus is compelling, intriguing, and people are drawn to him. His life of dependence on the Father enabled him to die in our place on the cross. His death, resurrection, and his gift of the Spirit to us enable us to receive his life. The more we die to ourselves, the more people will see Jesus in us.

This week one of our Do You Hear What I Hear? Christmas series. Sometimes what God has for us can seem scary… we may even feel like we are not the right person for the job or don’t even have what it takes… but all God wants is our Availability to show off his Incredibility. That is where Mary found herself. The Messenger of God shared this incredible news with her about the birth of God’s Son through her. “You’re making this way more difficult than it needs to be.”  Ouch… This sentiment can often feel discouraging, defeating, and deflating, and often cause us to dismiss things in our lives or to walk away disinterested.  The same is true when it comes to the message of the Gospel of Jesus and our faith… the more difficult it is for people outside of the faith to desire to come to Jesus, the more disinterested they will become.  But what if we are making it more difficult than it needs to be?  What if faith in Jesus was simply that?  What if the “good news” really was “good news” for everyone… not just some?  These were questions and decisions that were not only in front of James and the leadership council of the church in Jerusalem, but they are front and center for the Church in America today.  We are at a hinge point, a fork in the road for the church.  What direction will we decide?  What should we, as a local church, decide?

The good news of the Gospel is that Jesus died and rose again so that we would not only be saved, but that we would also be liberated from everything that keeps us from living in the freedom that Jesus wants us to experience. Yet whether it’s staying stuck in old patterns of our past, being enslaved by our need for human approval, preferring the safety of the familiar, or chasing after the empty promises of false gods, we often forsake the freedom that could be ours in Christ. Still hope remains because there is a better path toward life in Jesus empowered by the Holy Spirit. Paul continues his recalling of his confrontation with Peter over the true nature of the Gospel. He contends that obeying the customs and laws of the Old Testament aren’t a means of being declared righteous by God… that it is only faith alone in the grace of God alone through Christ alone that does that. In a self-oriented, self-help, self-sufficient world… the desire to justify self is strong… even unintentionally among believers in Jesus. Paul helps us understand that, in Christ, we have died to the self-justification way of living and it is the grace of Jesus that sets us free.

Grace changes everything… if only we would let it.

So join us in our journey through one of the most passionate New Testament letters written by the Apostle Paul as he teaches us what it means to live free and love well.

Jesus is calling us and sending us as his church to be his witnesses… to share the transformative hope of his good news to everyone we come in contact with.  It’s a spirit fueled, mission focused, witness forward sending.  And our prayer is that everyone who calls Hopevale their church home would come know where Jesus is sending them so that more and more people in our region would come to know that transformative hope and give their lives to Jesus.

When we think of that very first Christmas, we not only think of it as happening a long time ago in a land very far away, but we think of an event so special, so amazing, so intriguing, and so history and life changing that we have to tell the story over and over again. The story of a young girl named Mary and her husband-to-be, Joseph. The story of the angels, shepherds and wise men. All of these characters played a role in the beginning of the greatest story that has ever been told. The story of the birth of the Promised One, the Messiah, the Savior… Jesus. This is VINTAGE CHRISTMAS.

What would it look like for your church to be more just than the service you attend on Sunday mornings? What would it look like for your church to be a safe space to explore your faith in God? The world we live in is increasingly becoming more and more about one word: ME. Jesus, however, showed us that following him means giving up ME for the sake of another. He showed us the ultimate example of attitude and action when he set aside his privileges as God’s Son and took on the form of a servant. We are called to imitate that same kind of life. In fact, we were created for it. God has made us to minister. He has crafted us to contribute. Will you consume or will you contribute? Home is where you SERVE.
