The Global Anaesthesia, Surgery and Obstetric Collaborative (GASOC) ia a trainee-led organisation in the UK, with a passion for global surgery.
We created GASOC #COVIDPod to amplify the experiences of frontline clinicians battling COVID across the world. In each episode, we interview a different healthcare worker and share their story of their fight against COVID19.
In this episode we discuss with Dr. Raymond Ndikontar, an intensivist based in Cameroon. We learn about the difficulties in managing acutely unwell COVID patients in Cameroon and the use of frugal technology to counteract this.

Dr Sofoniyas Getane Budane is a Senior Anaesthesia Resident in his final year of training, currently working at Blacklion Specialised Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
In this GASOC #COVIDPod episdoe, we will be hearing from Dr Niveshni Maistry and Dr Linda Pohl who are surgical doctors within South Africa. Niveshni works in Paediatric Surgery in Johannesburg and Linda in General Surgery in Cape Town.
They are also leaders within the South Africa Global Surgery Society, which aims to aim to improve access to safe surgical care within SA through research, education, local & international collaboration.
We will discuss the impact of COVID on training, clinical practice and how things have progressed since its onset in South Africa.

Dr Anurag Mishra, Associate Professor of Surgery at the Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi gives us an overview of the Indian healthcare system and shares his perspective on how it has shaped India's COVID-19 pandemic response.
In our third GASOC #COVIDPod episdoe, we will be hearing from Dr Daniel Schubert, an A&E Registrar based in Rio De Janeiro.
He shares his experience of the lead up to the pandemic and the current state of healthcare in Brazil. Daniel also gives advise on important lessons learnt during the outbreak.

Dr Niyitegeka, Anesthesiologist and Lecturer at University of Rwanda, shares his thoughts on the preparedness of the Rwandan healthcare system for COVID-19, and his messages for other frontline healthcare workers across the globe during the pandemic.
In our first episode, we interview Mr Oliver Adebayo. He is an Orthopaedic Registrar and founder of PPE4Ghana.
We will be discussing the story behind this campaign and its progress so far.
