We are all members of The October Club
You can feel it coming.
The days haven’t completely surrendered to fall yet. Halloween is still somewhere on the horizon. But something has changed.
Spooky season has arrived.
And this week on The Leal Legacy Podcast, I’m talking about the proper way to welcome it.
Because and this is important you can’t just go from summer directly into full-blown Pumpkin Spice insanity overnight.
There needs to be a transition.
Let Fall Come to YouPart of what makes this time of year so special is the anticipation.
The first decorations start appearing. Horror movies work their way back into the rotation. The nights begin feeling a little different. Halloween starts creeping into stores.
Then, eventually, the Pumpkin Spice can flow.
But we’ve got to earn it.
There’s something to be said for allowing a season to slowly take over instead of immediately sprinting toward the finish line.
And while I’m talking about new seasons, there’s a pretty literal new chapter beginning for Leal Legacy as well.
We Have a New StudioThis is a big one.
I’ve officially landed a new studio space.
After years of building, recording, designing, filming, writing, experimenting and figuring out what Leal Legacy even is, having a dedicated space for the next stage of that journey feels significant.
It’s another home for the weird little universe we’re continuing to build.
And there will be plenty more on that as it comes together.
But spooky season also has a way of pulling old stories out of the graveyard.
Which brings us to New Orleans.
Halloween, New Orleans and Two Bat HeadsOne Halloween, I found myself in New Orleans.
And somewhere in the middle of everything that makes Halloween in New Orleans exactly what you’d imagine Halloween in New Orleans to be…
I got tattooed.
Bats, on my head.
Because apparently sometimes the appropriate souvenir from a Halloween trip isn’t a T-shirt or refrigerator magnet.
It’s permanent.
In the episode, I tell the story behind those tattoos and revisit a Halloween memory that’s managed to become a permanent piece of my own personal mythology.
And maybe that’s what The October Club really is.
It’s not a real club.
There are no dues.
There probably aren’t meetings.
It’s just that feeling shared by those of us who understand that Halloween isn’t merely one night on October 31st.
It’s the buildup.
The movies.
The decorations.
The weather.
The traditions.
The memories.
It’s letting the season slowly creep into your life until one day you realize…
October has arrived.
Even when the calendar says otherwise.

Frankenstein Factory — The Story Behind The SongThe Counter Kingdom may be finished… but the music side of Leal Legacy is far from done.
One thing I’ve realized recently is that I create a lot of standalone songs that don’t necessarily belong to larger albums or themed projects but are way too fun and creatively fulfilling to just sit unreleased on a hard drive.
So with this episode of The Leal Legacy Podcast, I’m introducing a new type of episode:
Song StoriesThese episodes will dive into the inspiration, concepts, and creative process behind original songs from Leal Legacy Music.
And the very first entry is:
Frankenstein FactoryThe idea sparked while watching the original 1931 Universal Frankenstein film.
As I watched Doctor Frankenstein assemble his creature, my mind wandered toward the modern world:
Most modern discussions about robots assume synthetic materials:
metal parts, wires, processors, silicone skin.
But then the weird question hit me:
What if Frankenstein’s method actually worked?
Not metaphorically.
Literally.
What if future AI assistants weren’t manufactured using synthetic components… but were assembled from harvested biological parts like Frankenstein’s monster?
And if that technology existed, eventually it would become industrialized.
Factories would emerge.
Assembly lines would form.
Workers would punch in every day to help create artificial life.
That world became:
Frankenstein FactoryFrom there, the concept somehow evolved even further into something unexpected:
A 1960’s-style country songabout what it would feel like to work there.
A strange mix of:
Honestly… it might be one of the weirdest and most uniquely “Leal Legacy” ideas I’ve ever created.
And that’s exactly why I love it.
If people connect with these Song Stories episodes, maybe some of these standalone songs eventually get full independent releases of their own.
Until then…
welcome to the factory.

There’s a moment at the end of a long day in a Disney park.
The lights are low. The crowd gathers. The music starts to swell. And for a few minutes, everything feels bigger than it should like you’re part of something shared, something emotional, something lasting.
A Day in the Counter Kingdom was built to capture that feeling… and flip it on its head.
The Full ExperienceThis isn’t just an album.
It’s a full playthrough experience a start-to-finish journey through a reimagined version of the Disney Parks, where nostalgia meets distortion, optimism meets aggression, and familiar melodies are pushed into entirely new territory.
In this episode of The Leal Legacy Podcast, you can listen to the entire album in one sitting the way it was intended.
No breaks. No interruptions.
Just the ride.
Reimagining the Parks Through SoundEach track on A Day in the Counter Kingdom takes a familiar piece of Disney Parks music and rebuilds it through a different genre:
Not as parody but as reinterpretation.
Because at their core, these songs were always built on strong melodies, emotional hooks, and shared experience the same foundation that drives punk and hardcore music.
The Journey Through The Counter KingdomThe album flows like a full day in the park:
You start on Main Street U.S.A., stepping into something familiar.
You move into imagination and creativity with One Little Spark.
You feel the emotional rise and intensity of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah and There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow.
Then things shift.
The world darkens.
Grim Grinning Ghosts pulls you into the shadows.
Yo Ho unleashes chaos.
It’s a Small World becomes something surreal and unsettling.
By the time you reach Blood on the Saddle, you’ve hit the heaviest, most intense point of the journey.
And then…
You come back.
Happily Ever After closes it out not as a return to innocence, but as something earned.
More Than CoversA Day in the Counter Kingdom isn’t about recreating what already exists.
It’s about exploring what these songs become when they’re viewed through a completely different lens.
What happens when nostalgia meets rebellion?
What happens when Disney magic is filtered through distortion, breakdowns, and raw emotion?
This album is the answer to that question.
Experience The Counter KingdomThis full album playthrough is the definitive way to experience A Day in the Counter Kingdom.
Whether you’re here for the nostalgia, the music, or the reinterpretation this is where it all comes together.
Tracklist:
Press play. Let it run.
Take the full ride.
Stay ConnectedThe Counter Kingdom is just getting started.
Because this isn’t just an album.
It’s a world.

There’s something about Disney Parks music that never leaves you.
It’s stitched into memory. Into childhood. Into moments that feel bigger than they should walking down Main Street U.S.A., hearing a melody loop through the air, watching fireworks explode over a castle while a familiar song plays in the background. These songs weren’t just written to be heard… they were written to be felt.
But what happens when you take that feeling… and run it through a completely different lens?
Welcome to The Counter Kingdom.
What Is The Counter Kingdom? At its core, The Counter Kingdom is a reimagining of some of the most iconic Disney Parks songs ever created but filtered through punk, hardcore, metalcore, and alternative styles.
Not as novelty covers.
Not as parody.
But as something honest.
Something that takes the structure, melody, and emotional core of these songs and translates them into a completely different sonic world.
Because the truth is these songs were always built for it.
Big hooks.
Simple, powerful melodies.
Choruses meant to be sung by crowds.
That’s punk. That’s hardcore. That’s pop punk.
The DNA has always been there.
Why Reimagine Disney Parks Songs? For me, this project comes from two places that have always existed side by side:
On the surface, those worlds couldn’t feel more different.
But underneath?
They’re built on the same foundation:
A packed crowd singing along at a hardcore show isn’t that different from a crowd watching fireworks at the end of a long day in the park.
Both moments are about connection.
A Day in the Counter KingdomA Day in the Counter Kingdom isn’t just a collection of songs it’s structured like a full park experience.
You start on Main Street U.S.A., stepping into something familiar.
You move through imagination, optimism, and nostalgia.
Then things shift.
The tone darkens. The energy changes. The world feels a little more chaotic.
By the time you reach the end, you’ve gone through something and the finale hits differently because of it.
This album isn’t just meant to be listened to.
It’s meant to be experienced.
Not Just Covers — A ReinterpretationThere have been plenty of covers of Disney songs over the years.
But The Counter Kingdom isn’t about recreating what already exists.
It’s about asking:
“What would these songs feel like if they were written in a completely different scene?”
What if:
When you shift the genre, you don’t just change the sound.
You change the perspective.
The Idea Behind The PrologueThis episode — The Counter Kingdom Prologue is exactly what it sounds like.
It’s the moment before the gates open.
Before the album rollout begins.
Before each track gets its own spotlight.
This is where the foundation gets laid:
Because once the music starts… it doesn’t slow down.
What Comes NextThis is just the beginning.
Over the coming releases, each track from A Day in the Counter Kingdom will be broken down, explored, and expanded across:
Each song gets its moment.
Each piece adds to the bigger picture.
Enter The Counter KingdomIf you’ve ever felt something listening to a Disney Parks song…
If you’ve ever stood in a crowd and screamed lyrics at the top of your lungs…
If you’ve ever lived somewhere between nostalgia and rebellion…
Then you’re already part of this.
This is The Counter Kingdom Prologue.
And the gates are about to open.
Stay ConnectedMake sure you’re tapped in for everything coming next:
Because A Day in the Counter Kingdom is just the beginning.
