In our first in-person recording since the launch of this podcast, I invited Devon Medina of @baja.kickz to give me her insight. Our paths have crossed so many times, but this was our first time meeting after a long year and a half! We kicked it off with a little “Kicks Of The Day” segment that we hope to keep around moving forward (7:32). Devon just got back from her first vending gigs, so we talked about both our rookie experiences, our pros and cons of vending, and some of the strategies we use (14:48). Fake sneakers and replicas have been a huge topic of “non-debate” if you will. We jumped into it and spit our game a little bit: would you buy fakes? Have you ever had fakes (29:00)? We’re back again, this time with Connor Smallwood of @Soles4Ewa. After a quick warmup and getting to know Connor, we dive into sneaker culture in Hawaii (8:52) and how it compares to the California lifestyle. The main topic of debate in this episode is grails. Can we come up with a definition for it? What are our grails (14:08)? To close it out, we moved into talking about the influence celebrities have on the sneaker world, after market prices, and shoes we missed out on before they shot up in price (30:40). After a long hiatus, we are back and attacking at the roots for The Episode for Non-Sneakerheads. Our good friend Benny Garver joins us as we introduce the newest member of our team, Fernando (0:00). We gave Benny the mic and had him ask us all the questions (7:39). After that, we decide to quiz Benny on his newly gained knowledge with some sneaker market related mini-games (48:46)!
