The mass is divided up into two parts the liturgy of the word and the The liturgy of the Eucharist. I will focus on the liturgy of the word. Understanding the word helps you actively participate in the mass. Mass is just one BIG prayer and if you come prepared you elevate sincerity in your prayer.
I define communion of saints, church militant. Church suffering, and devotion to a Saint.
Went over Sundays readings for May 3rd. Act 2:14-41,psalm 23, 1Peter 2:20-25, and John 10:1-10
Today we go over the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts are Wisdom knowledge counsel understanding fortitude piety and fear of the Lord. The fruits of the Holy Spirit are love joy peace goodness patience kindness generosity self-control modesty and chastity
The Nicene Creed is a symbol of catholic belief. Meaning it is a universal belief held by all Christians. In this episode I hover each line of the creed and why we believe these foundational truths.
Today we go over Acts 2:14-33, psalm 16, 1Peter 1:17-21 and the gospel Luke 24:13-35. We are on a journey together to spread the good news.
Lots of heavy readings but we want to take away is Jesus is Fulfilling old testament readings, and we also get an understanding of how Jewish temples were set up.
Today I talked about why we have community and the ritual of the mass. I also expanded on the Ten Commandments, living traditions and model of a servant. Please share and happy Thursday.
Today I talk about how to be a perfect servant by following Christ’s example. When we love God more then we love ourselves we are able to submit to God’s will. Remember to put J.O.Y. First. That is put Jesus (God), others before yourself.
Before mass even begins we hear the gospel reading from Matthew 21:1-11. In this podcast I attempt to peel back the layers of the gospel. OT readings you should look up Atoro better understand the gospel are 1Kings1:33,38,44, Zechariah9:9, 2Kings9:13, Zachariah14:4, Psalms72 and 118, 2Maccabees10:7 and 1Maccabee13:51. Remember we are look at how the Old Testament speaks to the New Testament and how the New Testament answers the Old Testament. NT you should look at are Matthew 31:3, Mark11:2, Luke19:30, John12:14, Revelations 6:2, 7:9-10, & 19:11.
Today’s readings ask us to walk by the spirit. The first reading is Ezekiel 37:12-14. The second reading is Romans 8:8-11. Please read Galatians 5:16-25. It will help you understand flesh versus spirit. Then the gospel is John 11:1-45. Ask Jesus to roll the stone away in your life and raise you from the death of sin.
