On the show, I hope to bring encouragement and inspiration to our homemaking role and remind you that this is exactly where God wants you to be. As a full-time homemaker and a mother to 5 young children, I found that this job isn't only hard, but also necessary. The world needs homemakers like You and me to fulfill a greater purpose. So join me every other Tuesday at 10 am Hawaii time where we will hang out and talk stories about the good the bad and the in between of homemaking.

Faith In Between has been a long-running show, but this season feels like something new. Around here, we talk about the journey of growing, learning, healing, trusting God, and walking through real life with faith — the good, the hard, and everything else that happens in between.
I’m Ui, a local girl from the island of Oʻahu who loves God, loves people, and believes there is purpose in the relationships, seasons, and stories God allows us to walk through.
I believe you landed here for a reason, and whatever that reason may be, I pray this space blesses you, encourages you, and reminds you that God is with you in the in-between.

After my last episode, Growth in the Wilderness, I realized God was still walking me through something deeper.
I was praying for change in my marriage and in the things around me, but God started showing me the places in my own heart that needed His attention too. Through Proverbs 18 and Psalm 51:10–13, He began revealing how much I was allowing hurt, old patterns, and my emotions to lead me in the middle of it.
This episode is an honest conversation about marriage, healing, reacting from pain, and learning that sometimes when we ask God to change the situation, He lovingly starts by working in us.
My prayer is that this encourages you to ask God not only to move in what you’re facing, but to show you what He wants to renew in you while you walk through it.

Marriage, while walking through a wilderness season, is not easy.
In my last episode, I briefly touched on my marriage and shared that I would come back to it—and here we are. In this episode, I’m going a little deeper into what it’s been like navigating my marriage during this wilderness season, and what’s been happening in my heart as I continue to walk with God through it.
This season has been stretching, refining, and honestly… uncomfortable. But in the middle of it, I’m starting to see how God is working—not just in my marriage, but in me.
If you’re walking through a hard season in your relationship—or even just within yourself—I hope this episode reminds you that growth can still happen here, even in the wilderness.

Hey… I’m back.
After a long, unexpected break—I know—but I’m coming back with a bolder heart to share what God has been doing in my life.
Today we’re talking about the truest kind of “in-between” season… the wilderness. There’s so much I could say, but this episode is really just easing back in—catching you up and letting you in on what this season has been like for me.
Podcasting, obedience, and the wilderness… yeah, the wilderness. I’m tired, I’m exhausted—but I’m choosing to show up in obedience to God. So come along with me, and let’s walk this out together.
Today’s scripture comes from Psalm 51:10–13, and if I’m being honest, it’s one that I feel is going to frame the rest of this wilderness season for me:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.
Then I will teach your ways to rebels,
and they will return to you.”

This year’s birthday carried a kind of beauty and healing I never expected. Just three days before turning 33, I lost my grandma — and with her passing, God began to reveal something deep in my heart. For years, my birthdays were wrapped in disappointment. I often gave others the power to determine how special I felt, expecting them to celebrate me the way I celebrated them. And when that didn’t happen, bitterness settled in.
But this year, everything shifted. In those three days of grief and reflection, God spoke three things to me:
1️⃣ I’m allowed to make myself happy — it’s not anyone else’s job to do that for me.
2️⃣ Jesus rose on the third day.
3️⃣ Proverbs 14:10 — “Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy.”
What started as a painful week turned into a resurrection moment — the death of my old self and the beginning of something new. At 33, I see how God used loss, healing, and revelation to bring me into freedom and joy that only He can give.

Have you ever gone through a tough season that has broken you down? Was it scary? were you unsure of the outcome because what you saw in front of you was a mess and not a masterpiece yet? then I think we can talk stories today. In this episode, I talk about the challenges that I have been facing in my marriage and how God was showing me that I needed to trust him to break down that which was not satisfying to him and rebuild something better. Buckle up because we're going way back to the beginning and sharing those spaces that for me are some of the hardest things to admit on my show, but I believe it's a conversation that needs to happen for a lot of local women like me.

And if I announce that I will plant and build up a certain nation or kingdom, but then the nation turns to evil and refuses to obey me, I will not bless it as I said I would.

I know you're all wondering what this last part of our series would be talking about, and if I'm honest it took me a while to hear God's voice on it. I kept feeling as if we were going to talk about many different things. Until God told me it would be Faith because faith is the thing that will get us out of all of our biggest roadblocks, especially fear. As the school year swings into full gear, a hectic household of six kids reminds me how vital it is to find sacred moments of solitude and connection with God. Amid the chaos, I found a renewed zeal for podcasting and, in this episode, I recount an unplanned office overhaul that served as a metaphor for reclaiming personal space, both physically and spiritually. I am so excited and moved really to be here on the podcast again through the moving of the Holy Spirit! This week is a HOLY WEEK as we are in the days leading up to the day of Jesus's death and his resurrection for our lives. I can honestly say I have never been more excited to learn about this week and allow the Holy Spirit to fill me up in it because learning as an adult how wonderful this story and this truth really is, is enough to fill me and fuel me for a lifetime.
Today as I was doing my daily devotional starting my day off right I came to have a beautiful revelation on this holy Wednesday, it's the day that Jesus reveals he knows what's about to happen to him and he knows who will put the plan into action of his death and resurrection, and even when he knows and he understands what is about to happen he keeps going and he acknowledges that this is what has to happen in order for many of us to be saved. He doesn't run, he doesn't try to change the outcome or stop it he allows it to happen as planned and I don't know about you but I am not that brave, if I could avoid a toe stub I would, but Jesus is perfect and wonderful and endures suffering and death to defeat death itself for me and for you!!

I know that this topic has popped up a few times on the podcast and maybe it is a little repetitive. I found God challenging me in this season to talk more openly and freely about generational curses in a more specific light like parenting or marriage. It was a little scary at first and I took a little while to record this episode, but the strength of the Holy Spirit was great and allowed me to record this episode. I hope that you can find truth and encouragement in this episode. If you feel like you are in this season with me I just want you to know that God is with us all and that we can break generational curses by choosing something different.

this is our last and final episode for the year 2022, I know it hasn't been consistent and in the least bit "entertaining" for you folks these past few months and I do apologize for that. My season has been a little exhausting with a new home and a new job all in the same year. Crazy is an understatement, to say the least, but non the less I still cherish my podcast and I am ramping up to bring you, folks, lots more in 2023. I'm not sure what God has in store so I won't make any set-in-stone promises, but I can assure you that whatever happens in 2023 will be led by Christ and founded upon Christ. I appreciate the support and love that you have shown the podcast over the past few years and ask that you extend grace and patience as you witness firsthand the work that God is doing in my life.
Today I want to share with you folks a poem/prayer that I recently came in contact with through a book that we will be reading in the coming weeks with my Church. The book is called, Un-Common Life by Art Sepulveda our senior pastor at Word of Life Christian Fellowship. Tucked within the first few pages of this book I had the pleasure of reading this beautiful poem/prayer that pastor Art used to beautifully display his point of needing to be awakened in this critical time. I thought it perfect as we end out the year 2022 and step into the year 2023 to read, ponder and depict this short poem/prayer to help fuel us into the new year.

Today is an episode that I find needs to be spoken about because it's often left alone, and for me if I leave it alone I feel like things won't move in the direction or "way" that God needs for them to go. We often give our lives back to God or to God for the first time and after a few days of being excited and on fire for God, we start losing momentum and eventually falling back into a place of stagnant water; where we start sinking in and getting lost all over again. This season has been so crazy for me and how God has been showing up for me has been even crazier. Hello hello and welcome back to Home Sweet Homemaking, I feel like it has been ages. I am still on a Holy Spirit High and I have been allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me in these episodes. With that being said my goal is that you find value in these episodes and that you are able to enjoy the conversations that we have here. Today I want to talk about mentorship and my experience with it thus far, I haven't been in a mentorship program before, I thought I was but then when I came into this program I can see that I clearly haven't. So today we talk about that and also I'm sharing just my thoughts and hearts on motherhood and marriage and how that all goes together in life.
I know there is ALOT going on in this one, but I promise you it's A LOT of great things that God is bringing to my heart for you ladies. so please enjoy!

S1E009: You are enough!
Isaiah 1:19: For if you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land.
you don't have to be perfect you just need to be willing and obedient to Christ as you go and the rest will work out in God's timing. Trusting in Him through it all.

Proverbs 31: 25-26: She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
Proverbs 31:27-28: She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her.
I encourage you to read Proverbs 31 not as a comparison to ourselves but as a promise from God that this is who he created us to be we have access to this, we just need to ask for it boldly to be the women he created us to be.

Hello hello and welcome back to home sweet home making, as always my name is Uilani Kumuhone and today’s episode we are going to be talking about some pretty big things, but before we get into all of that I just want to remind you that here on the podcast if your not familiar we talk about all things as a homemaker, and no haven’t talked about anything physical in the role of a homemaker yet, but we have been focusing on the spiritual, emotional and mental side of being a home maker because if your listening im sure you know and understand the hard mental and emotional work it takes to be a homemaker its so much more then cooking, cleaning and all the other fabulous things that we do every single day; so this epidote is no different we are still on our emotional, mental and spiritual journey here on the podcast and God has not since lead me into another route so I am going to continue to follow Gods lead and whatever he brings to me to talk about here on the episode I know is important for everyone including me so here we are. Hello hello and welcome back to the show, If you are new to the podcast welcome, here Is where we hang out and talk stories about all kinds of stuff, lately we've been focusing on the deeper stuff that lives within our hearts or hearts as homemakers, we haven’t done much like physical homemaking stuff, but I'm still settling into my new home and am definitely not ready to start talking about all of it. But I love to talk about things that I feel will bring encouragement and clarity to our lives as homemakers, the world has grown so much and I like to keep up with the times but also I like some things of the past that I think just make sense even today. But I hope that you enjoy the show and if you do at the end I’ll tell you exactly what you need to do and how to do it.. but for now let's jump into our re-cap I just wanted to let you all know just how much I appreciate each of you and welcome to everyone who is new.
Re-cap of the last Ep-Title: Words for Life
-What it was about: it was basically about three very important words that I have grown to know and understand and even appreciate in my life. One was a word for the year, the next was a word for my life and last was a word that God has spoken over me since I was a little girl.
-Key points: the three words are THRIVE: the word for my year, JOY: my life word, and last PEACEMAKER: the name God has called me throughout my life.
Three tips:
1. pray
2. Look back through your life and find that consistent positive thing that is you
3. start looking at yourself through the lens of beauty. start finding those things for yourself that you know God has given to you, Blessed you with.
As always these are not solid, must do steps to get these, these are basically what I do and what helped me to find these words that I shared above. The words that I live by and the ones that will carry me through the Course of my life.
Limiting beliefs (and I found this on google on a site called Asana.) is “A state of mind or belief about yourself that restricts you in some way.”
Here are some of the limiting beliefs that I could resonate with during that training.
“I can’t do it”
“If my husband doesn't support me I can’t be successful”
“I can’t be in business and in family, I have to pick one”
1 Timothy 1:6-7: This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (other translations “A sound mind”)
Tips
1.Pray: Ask God to help you figure out what are those limiting beliefs that you hold on to in your mind
-
write them down so you can see them. And then go back into prayer and give them to God
-
change the wording around and instead of saying the negative change it into a positive statement to start saying it to yourself each day
-
create a daily mantra or affirmation statement to say to yourself each day it doesn't have to be fancy or perfect it just has to be where you can understand what it is.

I know pretty heavy right?? well it really doesn't have to be, next is your word for your year, what for this year is that word that you will refer back to when you are in the middle of a tough decision, what will kind of guide you to those moments or even through those moments in your year? and then lastly the name/purpose God has given to you, who has he called you in your life till today?
I know all of these things are crazy and cannot be talked about all in one episode, well I promise you that God has been speaking to you on it you just have to open your heart and mind up to what he is telling you.

Today I want to talk about our Expectations and our Temptations; Why? well because we all have them and depending on how we set up our expectations in our mind and what kinds of temptations that is in our lives it can cause us a lot of stress, disappointment and failure ultimately, but luckily we are not alone in our struggle, God understands us 100% in our "humanity". He not only understands but he offers us an escape from our temptations and he will guide our steps in the midst of our high expectations that can cause us to "drift" from where God actually needs us to be. Today I want to focus on these two things to help us bring clarity and comfort to our struggles.
Expectations scriptures
Proverbs 16:9: The heart of men plans his way but the Lord establishes his steps. (ESV)
(NLT) Within your heart, you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.
Psalm 37:5&23: (NLT) commit everything you do to the Lord trust him and he will help you.
Psalm 37:23: (NLT) The Lord directs the steps of the godly He delights in every detail of their lives.
Temptations scriptures
Matthew 24:44: Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak (ESV)
(NLT) Keep alert and pray that you’ll be spared from this time of testing. Your Spirit is eager enough but your humanity is weak.
1 Corinthians 10:13: No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Matthew 6;24: No one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

I want to shed some light on this and hopefully navigate this area a little better.

Have you Ever Heard that saying, “You cannot pour from an empty cup?” Essentially that if we are not filling ourselves up by intaking good and satisfying things, things that bring us Joy and ultimately peace in our souls then how do we expect to give others those things? Why is this so important right now? Because as homemakers we are responsible for our homes and everyone and thing in it. If we are unable to pour out love, peace, care, and understanding, it means we are not filling ourselves up first we are not taking care of our well-being before we try to take care of the well beings of others and both are equally important in our lives. So I want to ask you today What Fills You Up, girl?
At the end of the episode, I want to read a passage from one of my resources that fills me up so stay tuned for that I will share that at the ending.

Because we are more than just homemakers all that we choose to fill us up needs to be taken into great consideration.I have three tips for when you are trying to find things that fill you up

Today I wanted to do some brief introductions, nothing special just talking stories and getting a few things out of the way before we jump into our very first full-blown episode. which by the way is on JANUARY 4, 2022!
I have been a full-time homemaker since 2013 when I had my oldest son. It wasn't an ideal situation at all, but like most parenthood startups we are all sort of pushed into a position of a parent and then a homemaker as well. I was 21 just graduated college and living with. my parents. So you can imagine it was a unique situation as far as homemaking went because it wasn't fully my own home, but it really doesn't have to be for it to be a place you call home.
I understand how sometimes we can get discouraged in our homemaking role especially how the world around us runs and I know sometimes there is the pressure of feeling like we need to do more than what we are doing, but I want us to feel confident in this role that God has called us to, that's right called us. We as homemakers are called to this role and even though it's tough at times to feel that way confidently or see it when we trust in God to guide our life we cannot go wrong.
God doesn't make mistakes and he definitely isn't starting with us. God knew exactly what he was doing when he created homemakers and he knows how important of a role we hold in the world so let's be confident in our role girl.
I hope that you've heard exactly what you needed to in this introductory episode. I am so excited to fully kick off our brand new podcast and just the new journey that God has all of us on. This podcast is a part of that journey and I am so excited for us all!!

I know you are looking at the title and thinking the worst. I promise you this is a bitter-sweet moment for me and for the journey and for our podcast. In our season Finale episode last week I mention that I wanted to do more "homemaking content" and talk more about family and marriage etc. As I prayed and asked God to reveal to me where it is that I need to be in this new season of life and he told me that he is calling me to an entirely new phase in my life and in my podcasting journey. He told me that I would no longer be hosting and producing Faith In Between (which scared me half to death because I absolutely love what I do here), but he told me instead that I would be hosting a producing an entirely new podcast surrounded around my role as a homemaker. Placing me in a place that needs more encouragement and more inspiration in our roles as homemakers of this world. I know that God is calling me to this and that I need to be obedient to his plans for me.
I knew immediately I needed to address this HUGE transition for the podcast and I thought of each of you. I'm here to not only say Goodbye to Faith In Between but also welcome you to join me on our new podcast "Home Sweet Homemaking." I know you I know your thinking, but I'm not a homemaker well don't be discouraged there is still plenty of content that I'm sure you will connect and resonate with.
I also want to assure you that I am not going anywhere. The exact same channel that you see right here will slowly change in look and dynamic over the course of this month. That's right no need to go looking for the new podcast all you need to do is be sure you subscribed here and everything will keep on keeping on. We are still scheduled to launch on JANUARY 4TH, 2022! but instead of season 5 of Faith In Between we will actually launch season 1 of Home Sweet Homemaking. Can you believe that it has been another full season here on the podcast, I can't believe that it is coming to an end... this is our season finale. Today as we exist a beautiful season I am sad, excited, filled, and ready to move forward into 2022. After the last two years we have had I know how hard it is for us to feel like there is anything good to look forward to, but I promise you there is sister there really is!
Today I want to talk about having thankful hearts all the time, we start at Ephesians 5:20: Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I want us to remember that we need to remember to give thanks to God the Father ALWAYS AND FOR EVERYTHING!! This is where we start and from here I want to get more into depth about why we should give thanks, who we give thanks to, and the things that we should be thankful for.

Aloha Guys and welcome back to Faith In Between, I feel like it has been a hot minute since I have been with you folks on the show so hello and Im so happy to be back. Today I go through a lot of things mainly on some challenges that God has been going extra hard on me with. There's family tides, self growth and other things that are totally out of my control. So I know that we have been in a changing season since October rolled out and is now done and over with. I feel like we are being set up to go into November better, stronger and wiser women in Christ, but first we gotta get this season done with by "Seeking First the Kingdom of Heaven."

Today I want to talk something that I feel is super important in our lives that we all can sometimes miss. You guys know me and you know that I love God with all my heart, but just like you and anyone else I always seem to loose my way right as we are getting into the depths of my circumstances. This week God has been revealing to me about the missing ingredient with my walk with him which is HIM! I forget that once God blesses me with something that it isn't time to walk away but instead its time to walk with Christ through that blessings because just like anything else here in this fallen world we will eventually get back to a bumpy road where we will need God all over again. And I finally realized that instead of starting again in finding Christ, why not stick with HIM. why not walk with him instead of finding him again. We forget that key ingredient to abide in him and I want to talk about it today.
Key Verse: John 15:4: Remain in me as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Today we will be talking about God equipping the ones (YOU) he calls for his purpose. and how the things we are dealing with right now in our lives are ways that God is equipping us to fulfill our purpose in his calling. I also talk about how the people who are "equipped" are also called by God and are simply the ones who have already been through the equipping stage and is now equipped and carrying our their purpose.
focus on the quote by Rick Yancey, " God doesn't call the equipped, son. God equips the called. and son you have been called." I actually add a few words in there to make it make more sense to an all inclusive meaning. to include all and anyone who is being called. Because this quote can be a focus on our whole selves in the sense that the "equipped" is our future and the "called" is us in our past, and once we take the necessary journey to get to being equipped we will then be the equipped and fulfill our purpose in Christ.

Aloha and welcome back to Faith In Between, I'm so happy that you are with us, today I want to talk about the Freedom in Knowledge, Wisdom and Truth. Three things that go hand in hand as well as reflect another three beautiful trinity that we all know today as the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. That's right how does the Holy Trinity reflect Knowledge, Wisdom and Truth? Tune into today's episode and I will break it all down for you!
Key Verse:
Colossians 2:2-4: My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and United in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, (3) In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (4)I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.
-4 chapters in the book of Colossians, it is an entire letter written from the apostle Paul to the church in Colossae, this part is explaining why he is bringing to them the word of God In this letter and what his goal for doing this is.
- Knowledge= Father- From him comes the facts of the world, the creation of the world, the very existence of life and all the knowledge. Having knowledge isn’t only knowing about the good things but the bad and the in between.
- Proverbs 1:29: Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord.
- Wisdom=Jesus- He came here on earth he is the closest things that we can get to being right next to God, when I think of wisdom I think about our experiences and the things we acquire though our journey, not necessarily that its written in a book for us to read but that it was lived out in our lives and taken from the most deepest parts of us is what wisdom is and only Jesus knows that and he lived the life we have lived so when I think wisdom I can say that Jesus is what I would consider wisdom.
- Colossians 3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
- Truth=the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is what drives us to know the word of God, it is what guides us to where we need to be so we can find out the truth of who God is so that we can gain the knowledge and wisdom of God to carry with us in our lives. It bring us the truth when we need to know it.
- John 16:13: But when he, the spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into the all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
- The father the son and the holy spirit are all interlocked just like knowledge wisdom and truth.
- Verse 2: so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ
- God wants this for us we are the church it doesn’t matter what specific church he was speaking to at this time today he is speaking to us directly as a whole body of Christ.
- Verse 3: In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
- In Christ in God there is wisdom and knowledge to be had so that we are able to live our lives. In a more productive and pleasing way.

I want to talk about how much freedom there is in letting things go in your life that does not belong, the things that are just holding us back from seeing Gods purpose for our life. Key Verse: Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
I came up with a list to help us figure out who we are I have 6 things on my list, now 4 of the 6 things I will talk about will be different for everyone and we may not only have 5 things we may have more, but the first and the last thing on this list will be the same for all of us.
God & Rest. And these two things as I was working it out in my mind were the two most important things and the two staples of our whole-self because we all will always need God and rest no matter what we are doing no matter who we are we all need these two things, but I want us to through this list and I will use my list as an example and then I want to challenge you to do the same and build your own list when we are done here or as we go how ever you want to do it to start figuring out who we are was a whole.
guidelines for our list
First: everyones list will always look different except for Christ as our fist listed item and Rest as our last.
Second: there should be at least 1 physical aspect (ex: what you do for living), 1 adjective (description of who you are, and 1 thing you love to do aside from your daily job (hobby, sport etc) of your life on this list,
Third: this is not set in stone. Nothing besides God and rest will be set instone on this list, things around us change, our circumstances change, our friends family jobs hobby’s they all change they are all temporary so don’t expect this list to be forever set in stone about who you are but for right now for the moment and the season you are in this is a list to help you figure it out who you are,
Fourth: You have to seek God on this, you have sit down and ask God to point out the things that are suppose to be on this list, I say that because our goal here is to find out what those things are and live our lives in those things for Christ and not to allow other things to consume us, because the things that we are sure in Christ about are the things that Christ will use to bring us closer to his glory. And remember God can always do anything in an instant and we must embrace that this list that we are going to build is specifically to help us regain balance and clear understanding of who we currently are to help us hear God better
Fifth and final: they all have to be in alignment with God, remember this isn’t a willy nilly list of things this list is to help us not keep us down so if there is something in your life that you know
I see it as cutting out all the fluff to help pus focus on God better because I feel so distracted by my current circumstance that I feel that’s why God has me on this journey to better myself and my relationship with Him so lets get going.

- Speaking
- Relationships
- Joy
6.Rest (will be the same for all of us)
** your list may be longer but the first and the last one will be the same God&Rest.

If you are a subscriber and following the show you know that we have been on a break for the month of June, It has been a nice time away from the hustle and bustle but I am ready to get back into it.
If you are brand new here hello and welcome! Today is our first day back since we took a break from season 3. I am so excited and happy that you are here.
today I wanted to create a kick off episode for season 4. I know that I haven't done this in the past we kind of just jumped right into the episode, but like anything else we grow and we learn from the past and I found that I tend to try and shove all of my excitement and enthusiasm into that first episode, so to avoid doing that again and really allow myself time to gradually get back into it with all of you I created the season kick off episode. This is my very first one and I have to say that I really really enjoyed doing this type of episode.
Today is really about getting back into the swing of things and giving you guys some back story to my current life before we get into all the other episodes which im sure will revolve around today's episodes and all the main things I talked about (plus I just missed all of you and needed to talk stories for a bit) LoL

LAST EPISODE OF SEASON 3
I am sad and excited that this is our last episode in season 3, as much as I want to keep creating more content I know God is telling me to put down the mic down and rest, focus on my family and really connect with God during this break. plus I am still in the process of buying a home so who knows we may come back in season 4 and figure out that I have a whole new home. so here is to new seasons in life and all that the future holds. Happy Mothers day to all of you wonderful moms out there, no matter if you are a mother to natural born children, or if your a mother to adopted children or if your a God mother, a second mother a step mother, single mother, widowed or married or soon to be or praying to be etc, no matter what kind of mother, where you are in your motherhood journey or what the world says about being a mother I am here to tell you that you are a mother and get to partake in this beautiful day with us. so happy mothers day to you!!
Today I want to try something a little different so I invited my oldest son Paoa Kapili Mokuahi O Ikaika mai ka Moana Nui and my oldest daughter Kamalani Kalawe O ka Maluhia me Kealoha E ka Pu'uwai Kumuhone. Im going to keep it fun and loose free flowing here so I want to ask them random questions that I found online. I found out so much about them and learned things about them I never knew before.
If you are a mother I highly encourage you to try this with your kids and see what they say about things in their life. We often mis understand them because we get caught up in our own lives that simply talking with them gets lost in the mix and I can say that is so true for me today. so please enjoy and be nice because they are only children, much of what they say isn't well thought but that's kids for you.

Today's episode is a little different because Im going off the beaten path of our usual way of doing things, and I want to remind you guys that the things I talk about in each episode are in real time, they are raw and they are hard. Lately I been feeling a little broken in spirit. I promise its not you, I'm just in a season that I need to trek through to see Gods glory fulfilled. Today I do touch really briefly on anxiety, depression and suicide ( If you need help you can call the suicide hot line @18002738255 or check out their website:https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org) I have been such a down place that these things were getting real in my life and I want to encourage you to reach out to someone and ask for help if you are going through any of these things on your own because you don't have to. So please know that I am in a season of hard and if you are we can help each other to seek Christ. I absolutely appreciate you and know that God has a plan and purpose for you.
Key verse: Mark 4:25: to those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.

Hay ladies and welcome back to faith In between Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays I know that we are all in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Christmas time, I hope your taking time out for yourself and slowing down to enjoy all that this season brings. As said in my last episode (3 ways to secure insecurities in christ) I am bringing to you folks a new poem in my Poetry&Podcasting series, Ep2: When I Grow up, I wrote this poem in the early morning hours of my 28th birthday. There was a lot running through my mind about how my insecurities are so front and center in my life. It got me thinking about when we were younger and people would ask us throughout school ʻwhatʻ we wanted to be and never really allowed us to be ʻwhoʻ we wanted to be because we still had to fit into society based on their standards of things. Here I want to showcase how I want to teach my children different, I want to make sure they know that they can be in any career they want to, but who they will be the person the characteristics that we choose to instill and portray as we grow is so much more important in this world. We are battling the enemy everyday and from a young age we are programed to be who they want us to be and most of the time it always happens, but sometimes we have those wonder and amazing people who chose to do things differently while being amazing people in the process and I absolutely agree with that 100%.

INSECURITIES! I know the word scares you, it scares me! it makes me want to hide in my closet and shut the world out, does it do the same for you? Imagine not being able to hide or disguise that which makes us so insecure to the world, I donʻt even want to think about it honestly. Why do we some times become offended when coming across something or someone that is different than us? Why do we take offense to it enough to hate or dislike that person because of it?? Look I get it, Im no different when it comes to differences in people especially differences that I find to be "wrong" in my eyes, but what does God say about people and offenses?.. He says to Love one another from the beginning (1John 3:11) and that love covers all offenses (proverbs 10:12). Aloha friends and welcome back! It is so nice to be back with you folks after taking the month of August off to take a load off and adjust to my kids new social distancing schooling schedule. With all my heart and did my best to work on the podcast while I was on break, but God had me focusing on other things and allowed me this time to push out the first episode only; leaving the rest in his hands.

As July comes to an end, so does the first season of Faith In Between. We ran for 5 months straight starting on March 31,2020 until July 28th 2020. This season was so brand new that everything on here was honestly a new discovery. I got to really settle into this place God is calling me to as a podcaster and friend. There was so many blessings as each month went on as well as many struggle and long long nights. I am so happy to say that as we are coming to the end of season 1 I feel God calling me to do even more fun and amazing things when we return in September to kick off season 2! Refocusing on God
I don't know about you, but life always seems to get thrown off just a little bit. This past month has been really hecktec and I didn't notice when my focus began to change from Christ, to everything that has been going on around me. I started falling into a cycle of constant worry and stress. It wasn't until a bible study from Proverbs 31 ministries that helped me discover that my focus was off and because of that, flipping my entire heart for Christ around. Come sit with as I sort through how to refocus on God.

Good talk instead of Gossip
What does God say about gossip
- There are many many bible verses on the specific topic of gossip.
- A lot of them are found in the book of proverbs.
- Ephesians 4:29: Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen
- Unwholesome: poisonous, harmful, detrimental, destructive, damaging, corrupting etc.
- Building others up according to their needs.
- If your not building someone up you are gossiping
- If your not there with the other persons needs in mind you are gossiping
- That it may benefit those who listen
- If whoever is listening to you cannot benefit from what your saying you are gossiping
- If they cannot see you as person to trust with things that you say, you are not benefiting them and are gossiping
- Gossip is gossip and we are either apart of it or we are not.
Why do we gossip
- Its entertaining to our souls
- We have been around others who gossip a lot and have obtained it as one of our natural behaviors
- We don’t see the harm in it all the time
- We feel the need to have to fit in
- We rather say something about someone else to keep others from knowing about ourselves
- We are upset at the other person
- We don’t connect personally with the other person
- We want to feel connected with others so through what we talk about others.

What can we do instead of gossiping

Do not engage with gossip in the first place :Proverbs 20:19: A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.

Instead of gossiping to others about someone, turn that into a conversation with God in prayer :James 5:16: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous person is powerful and effective.
3. Be aware of your thoughts and your words :Psalm 33:12-13: Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
Be careful with you gossip
- Gossip is very dangerous and should be taken seriously
- Words that are said can hurt someone as much as physical damage can do
- Proverbs 18:21: The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
- We need to practice restraint when speaking of others
- Speak to God before even thinking about speaking to anyone else.

What did I do to overcome this discouragement
- I needed to stop for a moment and really think about what I was allowing myself to think, and come up with facts to the statements I was making to myself (the enemies voice)
- Philippians 1:9-10: And this is my prayer: That your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and my be pure and blameless for the day of Christ

I am so excited to bring you my official first episode in my new series Poetry&Podcasting. This poem that I wrote is a special one dedicated to my husband. I wrote it for our 10 year anniversary of our partnership. Ten years ago on April 25th we became a couple and eventually years later, husband and wife.
This year I wanted to give him something special and couldn't figure out what to do. Until God spoke to my heart and eventually lead me to write this amazing piece, sparking a whole new passion and love for spoken word and my husband. Today I am so excited to launch my brand new series called Poetry&Podcasting. In this series I will be featuring a mix of my own work as well as work from other poets whom I feel can bring us blessing and encouragement through spoken words. The type of poetry you will typically find here is spoken word poetry or SLAM poetry. A unique and exciting form of poetry sure to wow your creative and passionate side no matter what topic you are talking about.
Please note that with anything not every poem will be engaging and/or speak to every single person that will come across it, but I do believe that Poetry is a unique language that can speak fluently to some and not so fluent to others. And THATS OKAY!! if some of the poems that will be featured here doesn't speak to you right away, its totally fine, but please be kind with your words as all poems are personal to each poet and can touch from specific times int their life that can be a very touchy subject. But thats the beauty of poetry it allows us to express ourselves and speak on even the most touchy of topics.

How many of you?
- Always feel busy
- Kids, work, school, extracurricular activities, home makers
- don’t spend time with Christ?
- Praying, reading his word, soaking
- How many of that do we actually do in the day, verses all the other things that we do in the day that just takes up out time?
- Facebook scrolling, instagram, twitter, YouTube, tictok,
- Lets try to reflect on our day, and find the leasiure times when we are not doing anything.
- Luke 10:38-42: Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a women named Martha welcomed him into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

- This is not for God, but for us.

In this episode I wanted to try something a little different. In my first 3 episodes the layout was really structured and planned, which there is nothing wrong with having them like that. I just was getting a little held up with feeling like I just wanted to talk stories with you folks. So in this episode I decided to just have a time where I could come and talk with you folks. A time to share some intimate details about my life and help you folks get to know me in a different light. weather you know me outside of this podcast or you only met me because of the podcast I wanted to share with you folks some details in my life that could help you folks get to know me a bit better as we continue on our journey together as friends.
While Im doing this I am also doing my makeup. Makeup is for me is fun and enjoyable. Since we are stuck in doors I figure it is a good time to practice my makeup skills and get more comfortable wearing my makeup so that when we are able to go out and able to see others I'll be ready to slay the day.

How is our heart a garden?
- It is where we grow things from.
- God created a garden when he first created the world. It was filled with trees that produced fruit and he left Adam to tend to it and care for it.
- Genesis 1:8-9 “ Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he played the man he had made. The Lord God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground- trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he played the tree of life and the knowledge of good and evil.
- I want us to picture our hearts and all its content as a garden that needs to be tended.
- It is unique and special to each person and only us and God knows its contents and knows the best way to tend to it.
- Genesis 1:15- The Lord God placed the man in the garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.
- This is just like our hearts and the job God gave to us to care for it.
- Galatians 5:22-23: But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love , joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. There is no law against these things!
Weeds in our gardens
- We all have weeds in our gardens in our hearts
- What are WEEDS?
- Definition: A plant that is not valued where it is growing and is usually of vigorous growth, especially: one that tends to overgrow or choke out more desirable plants. (Merriam-Webster dictionary.com)
- Galatians 5: 19-21: When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, another sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Tending to our hearts gardens
- I worked on a farm for 3 years
- In order for plants that you want to thrive and survive you have to pull out/ de root the weeds in the garden.
- The weeds in our hearts are not different and will cause the same effect as they do in an actual garden
- When our gardens aren’t tended to properly we cannot expect ourselves to give what christ needs us to give, and do what he intended for us to do.
- Galatians 6: 4-5: pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
- Focus on our own gardens and don’t worry about what the other person is or even isn’t producing.
Start growing your hearts garden according to His will
- Ephesians 5: 22-24: Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God- truly righteous and holy.
- I know that this is a beautiful picture of what we need to do and for a lot of us may seem unrealistic and unreachable, but remember that Christ is all powerful and that because of Him we will be able to reach something as beautiful as this.
- Don’t get discouraged if you feel like your not doing all of this correctly because there is no formula for all of this to happen, This is between you and Christ and whomever you and Christ decide needs to be along side you to help you.

- Because I worry so much a bout the future sometimes it get me past the point of anxious, but this scripture reminds me that Christ knows my future.

How to find your anchor scripture
- Read your bible (randomly) and find which verse(s) stands out to you the most.
- Write them down.
- Re-read them to yourself daily
- Look for confirmation in your days
- Take notice which one comes up throughout your day when you need guidance.
Things to think about while searching
- Don’t stress over this, seek God and He will reveal it to you.
- Chose one that you feel confident in, that brings your peace and encouragement when you read it.
- Memorize!!! Biggest key to this is to memorize your life verse, it will be there always when you need it the most and the only way it will always be there is if you memorize it and keep it in your mind and your heart.
- Use it ALL the time!!
- Never underestimate the power of Gods word!

Just like every other women in the world I too struggle with the way I look and the way I feel about myself. Its hard as we live in a world that screams at us to be MORE then ourselves, and making us feel as if we are not good enough EVER. I struggled with feeling NOT beautiful my entire life and have some how managed to finally see MYSELF as beautiful. How you ask.. join me in todays episode as we unpack all of this and more.
