Teacher, entertainer, employee, homeschooling parent, professional. These are the hats that we now wear on a full-time basis, not simply the roles that we switch between throughout any given day. Covid-19 has not only upended the education system, but the world as we know it. We are all now managing to navigate our new normal, together. Each week while we practice the oxymoron of social distancing, I’m hoping to connect with our families and our educational community in a more practical way.
The month of April is dedicated to Autism Awareness, as we not only celebrate those diagnosed with Autism, but we also celebrate each and everyone's uniqueness. In this episode, I speak with Ben Hartranft, graduate of North Penn, Philadelphia Eagles Autism Challenge Ambassador, and champion for Autism. Ben has been on The Ellen Show, presented the Lombardi Trophy for the Superbowl winning Philadelphia Eagles, and has been a presenter at a number of schools and conferences. Not only do we talk about Ben's journey since being diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2 years old, we also have some fun discussing North Penn/celebrity look-a-like's and potential Carpool Karaoke. This episode has a little of something for everyone and is sure to please!
This episode we are joined by Mr. Doug Cervi, manager of Tech Operations at Comcast, North Penn parent, president of NP Little League, and volunteer firefighter. Doug and the Comcast Corporation have been instrumental in connecting Knapp families with Wifi during these challenging times. He joins us to talk about the support Comcast provides for low income families, the importance of service to others, the present and future status of North Penn Little League...and, Nintendo!
