Entrepreneurial Anxiety, Apathy and Depression (Virtual Meetup), with Melanie Ginsburg and Samantha Alvarez

"...I will say of depression, not true depression, anxiety, just very unpleasant while I was running my business and had to learn very fast how to swim. So now I'm hoping to teach these lessons. I'm hoping to catch them before the shipwreck, so to speak. But during is also, you know, if I can pull myself out, you can pull yourself out. So wherever you're at right now, know that it will be okay. And you can do it..."

Episode Highlights Why More now

  • Due to corona worries, lockdown constrictions and economic recession for some businesses.
    • Everyone is grieving the major changes that are occurring
    • Stages of Grief: DABDA - Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance (not necessarily in that order)
  • See Sam’s article for more details and help on quarantine related mental health issues. In the Resources section at the bottom. From that article:
    • 30% of people in Quarantine become clinically depressed
    • 30% become clinically diagnosable with PTSD (with some overlap of people getting both, of course),
    • and that these symptoms last at least one month after quarantine.

What is Ideal mental health

  • Ideal mental health
    • Resilient - bounce back from setbacks,
    • Flexible - fast to pivot
    • Calm, focused
    • Joyful
    • Connected to spirit, intuitive
    • Social. EQ. SQ. (Emotional Intelligence, Spiritual Intelligence)
    • A healthy relationship with self
  • For ideal mental health, the positive attitude should be at a good level, so that the individual feels happy with themselves.
    • Self-actualization. Self-actualization is being in a state of contentment, feeling that you have become the best you can be.
    • Autonomy. This is having independence and self-reliance.
  • Connection with nature...outward and inward focus balanced

Barriers The Creeping Problem * Mental illness creeps up on people * Distractions hide it + Dissociated + In the Matrix = “normal” (desirable) to be busy * Not socially acceptable to discuss or admit to it * Compare to breaking a leg and getting it fixed vs covering up + Pills as temp crutch + Hitting leg with hammer daily but not want to be aware of it * Notice if isolated -- check-in with self...then make outward connection email call visit zoom (vs. distraction)

Resistance to Asking for Help Resistance to recognizing you have a problem and getting help:

  • Mental illness shame - avoid talking about it, afraid what others will think of me
  • An entrepreneur has to be strong for others
  • (co)-Head of family ditto
  • It’s a feeling, and it is not rational
    • Hard to explain with logic and words
  • Entrepreneurs have bigger financial responsibilities and risk levels
  • Entrepreneurs are outcasts from traditional society already - lack of others to understand us
  • Chronic Workaholism and culture of long hours
    • Hard to break this habit
  • No refuge (home anxiety == work anxiety)
  • Location-independent ones doubly so
    • Distance from deep support systems
    • Lack of groundedness with current community
    • Breadth over depth of support

Anxiety

  • Corona lockdown and economic recession accentuates existing anxiety(s)
  • Anxiety spectrum: Low-grade constant worry → Full on Fear Panic Attacks
  • Obsessive, uncontrollable thoughts
    • Obsessive behavior. Constant rechecking. Controlling others and things. Perfectionism.
    • Negative interpretations of what others say.
    • Rampant (negative) imagination
  • Trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than the present worry
  • Having trouble sleeping
  • Imposter Syndrome
  • Brain and body chemistry from past trauma. PTSD.
  • Physical health issues associated with anxiety
    • Heart racing, trouble breathing, Sweating, Trembling, Dry mouth
    • Nausea/loss of appetite/insatiable appetite
    • Tummy pain, poor digestion, diarrhea.
    • Headaches, back pain
    • Diabetes
    • Thyroid problems
    • Depressed immune system
  • Some specify anxiety disorders:
    • Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder in which you fear and often avoid places or situations that might cause you to panic and make you feel trapped, helpless or embarrassed.
    • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) includes persistent and excessive anxiety and worry about activities or events — even ordinary, routine issues. The worry is out of proportion to the actual circumstance, is difficult to control and affects how you feel physically. It often occurs along with other anxiety disorders or depression.
    • Panic Disorder involves repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks). You may have feelings of impending doom, shortness of breath, chest pain, or a rapid, fluttering or pounding heart (heart palpitations). These panic attacks may lead to worrying about them happening again or avoiding situations in which they've occurred.
    • Social Anxiety Disorder (social phobia) involves high levels of anxiety, fear and avoidance of social situations due to feelings of embarrassment, self-consciousness and concern about being judged or viewed negatively by others.
    • Specific Phobias are characterized by major anxiety when you're exposed to a specific object or situation and a desire to avoid it. Phobias provoke panic attacks in some people.
    • Substance-induced Anxiety Disorder is characterized by symptoms of intense anxiety or panic that are a direct result of misusing drugs, taking medications, being exposed to a toxic substance or withdrawal from drugs.

Apathy

  • Lack of joy, excitement, interest in your work, relationships or life.
  • Burnout. Bored.
  • The main symptom of apathy is a lack of motivation to do, complete, or accomplish anything. You may also experience low energy levels.
  • Lack of action
  • Tasks and things pile up. Email inbox, VMs, Procrastination. Lack of fulfillment in biz and life.
  • Increasing distractions and addictions
    • These soak up your attention for the moment, which can sometimes be healthy in short bursts, to get distance from the problem. but unhealthy in the medium-to-long term as you don't resolve or even engage with your problem(s)
  • Lack of exercise or activity or socialization (mental thought “why bother?”)
  • Physical health issues associated with apathy
    • Headaches, back pain, tummy pain, poor digestion, diarrhea, constipation.
    • Anemia, eating disorders, addiction hangovers
    • Depressed immune system
  • A way of becoming numb to protect - yet covers true self

Depression

  • Can be very similar to apathy - lack of interest, everything feels meaningless but with an overlay of negative mental thoughts that make you feel even worse.
  • Cruel internal dialogue (“You are worthless, nobody loves you, you are broken, you are beyond fixing”)
  • A belief that things can not and will not get better
  • Difference between feeling sad and feeling depressed!
    • Sadness is a specific reaction to something. It fades with time and action.
    • Depression is an entire long term mood. It is much harder to shake off.
    • The biggest difference between emotions and emotional disorders is the ongoing mind chatter. It honestly feels like an alien/demon has taken over your mind → helpful to personify that demon to recognize that it is NOT YOU and those voices are NOT TRUE
    • These may be voices from your childhood from parents, teachers, bullys or more recent from friends, coworkers, bosses, customers or spouses.
    • Or you may have an actual negative spirit entity(s) attached to you that is giving you the negative thoughts and energy. An energy healer or shaman can remove these.
  • Risk of self-harm or suicide
  • Physical health issues associated with depression
    • All the same ones as apathy:
      • Headaches, back pain, tummy pain, poor digestion, diarrhea, constipation.
      • Anemia, eating disorders, addiction hangovers
      • Depressed immune system
    • Chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue
    • Irritable bowel syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity
    • PTSD, panic attacks
    • Poor diet and exercise makes digestion issues, body aches and pains worse
    • Heart disease, strokes

Suicide * + Time to talk about the elephant in the room + Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US - Is 2nd leading cause in 30-year-olds + On average, there are 129 suicides per day. - Approx 40k per year - 1.4M suicide attempts per year (2018) - An estimated 9.3 million adults (3.9% of the adult U.S. population) reported having suicidal thoughts in the past year. - Suicide and self-injury cost the US $69B per year (2015) - The annual U.S. suicide rate increased by 24% between 1999 and 2014 * After suicide + It is not your fault + Be supportive + Support survivors + (let’s take a breath!) * Rat race rant + We are not looking at these incredible mental illness and suicide statistics as being indicative of deep unlying problems with our society’s programming and the rat race.

Loving Reminders

  • I know we’re all overachievers. But this is a crazy time. Now is not necessarily the time for you to reach your full potential. It is a time to focus on preventing you from hitting rock bottom. Ease some of that pressure. You don’t need to be operating at full capacity right now.
  • YOU ARE NOT YOUR BUSINESS: your work is not a reflection of your worth. If sales went down this month, you are still valuable. If you lost money this month, you are still lovable. If you didn’t sign any new clients this month, you are still a rockstar. Do not tie your worth to your business's success.
  • In regular times, social media is a highlight reel for activities. Now, it is a highlight reel for emotions. Every single person is experiencing anxiety and grief and fear about this situation. Do not let social media fool you into thinking you are ‘broken’ or ‘weak’ for feeling scared. Remember that social media is meticulously curated and do not compare yourself to what you see there

Interview transcript Michaela Light 0:01 All right. Welcome back to the intuitive leadership mastery podcast. I'm here with Melanie Gibbs Ginsberg. Hi, Melanie. Hi. And we might be joined by Samantha Alvarez. She is a nurse practitioner working in a hospital in New York and she got some pages so she might have difficulty joining but we will cover for her part. And today we're going to be talking about entrepreneurial anxiety, apathy and depression, which given the corona lockdown the economic depression, and various other excitements and isolations is a big thing right now. So welcome, Melanie. For those who don't know, Melanie, tell us about yourself in a brief whatever. Wow, I'm awesome. You are awesome.

Melanie 0:52 I, let's see, the reason that you should be trusting me to talk about this is that I experienced quite a heavy dose

I will say of depression, not true depression, anxiety, just very unpleasant while I was running my business and had to learn very fast how to swim. So now I'm hoping to teach these lessons. I'm hoping to catch them before the shipwreck, so to speak. But during is also, you know, if I can pull myself out, you can pull yourself out. So wherever you're at right now, know that it will be okay. And you can do it.

Michaela Light 1:27 That's great. And as well as being an author or an intuition coach on business intuition. I also have had episodes of depression and anxiety and OCD and various other things. So we'll talk more about each other's excitements later. And I know Samantha has had episodes of anxiety and she gave a meet up on this and we both all three of us have given various some different meetups in the dynamite circle which is an entrepreneur group around this top these different topics, anxiety, apathy and depression in entrepreneurship. So, very cool. Feel free to put questions in the chat. And let's share the OLED screen because we have some cute slides. But if you're listening on audio Do not worry. We will be saying everything that you need to hear. And Michaela is wondering what happened to the show the screen button. Here it is.

Komal Kaur talks about “Shredding my ego (and growing intuition)” in this episode of Intuitive Leadership Mastery with host Michaela Light.

"to me, ego basically is that part of myself that, um, I identify with that I give a label to that is, um, but I formed the image of who I am. So you know, my name. For example, I have quite an attachment to my name cause I love my name. Um, you know how I look, the image, right? Um, right. That's thoughts. The emotions that come up in my mind, how I feel, my body, what comes up in my body. All of these, all these aspects of myself which are outside is what I consider my ego, what I identify with, what I'm attached to and what I feel separates me from someone else. You know, what makes me- me and what makes you you, you know? And that is my ego. That's what ego means to me."

Episode Highlights * Her FB post + I set an intention for 2020 last week, to remove my attachment to the 'I', my ego self that craves and identifies with labels. + I had to shed a lot of ego in 2019, and release so much attachment to who I thought I was. It's such a painful process... I was holding on so strongly to words and ideas that I used to define myself. Because I needed to find my place in the world. + But how can I possibly sum the vastness of this existence and experience into a mere few words, words that are limited by the confines of language. + And as we come to the close of the year, I find myself with even more being stripped away. Things I hold on to tightly, and which define my self worth by my ability to achieve them. + The more I learn, the less I know. I see the lessons and I hear you loud and clear, God. + 2020, I welcome you with humility. * What is ego to you + Label for myself, self image + Eg name, thoughts, my face and body + Separation - Vs we are all one - Individual (esp in West) vs Group/Community in East + Creates Boundaries + Being right or wrong - judgements + toxic + Roles and title * Business as a group + Ego and competition vs collaboration + Age of Piscius vs Age of Aquarius + Patriary + Burnout * Remote Team focus and joy + Open communication + Safe space + Pick good fit team members + Clear focus for team + Support team members be their best self + Cafe Gratitude * What happen in 2019 that caused you to shred your ego + Health issue - Tacaled disease vs dg deep + Holding onto labels - Vegetarian label * Under my control * Devine + Early detection via naturopath - Leaky gut → skin rashes, hives, sun allergy - Nurture with nutrition + Self determined vs others judgements + Trauma in gut * What is health + Feel good mental, physically, emotionally and spiritually + Holistic + Sungazing → mental health - joy, peace * I know nothing + Learning mindset * Pain of releasing and growing + A death of sometime + Resistance to change + Stoicism and stubborn and surrender * Unexpect layoff + Gene Keys - Gift level - Shadow level - Siddhi level + Fida Fadel's teachings on Fidafadel.com - Business, health, relationships etc are all search toward + Another lesson / growth oppo + The Power of the Heart + Ram Dass - Be Here Now + As within so without * Effect on intuition + My practices and inner guide + Meditation + Mantra - Nipna mantra + Chi gong + Yoga + Listen to my body

Mentioned in this episode * Oura ring * Pavlock * Book Mind over medicine by Lisa Rankin * Book The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton * The Forge Book Club * Book Trust Me I am Lying by Ryan Holiday * Book Everything Is Figureoutable Hardcover by Marie Forleo * My fitness pal

Bio I originally trained as a doctor, graduating in 2011 but throughout my time in university, I also held an interest in fitness and nutrition.

This manifested as a number of gym qualifications, a sports science degree and a few years of experience working in a gym during my medical degree and I participated in a wide range of sport as well including rugby, strongman, MMA, and bodybuilding.

This all took a back seat when I started to work as a doctor but within a few years, I realized that we were working the wrong way round. I didn’t want to catch people after lifestyle diseases had developed. I wanted to prevent these horrific illnesses from developing in the first place, and this could be achieved through nutrition and exercise.

So I left full-time medicine in 2015 to pursue business ventures and to elicit a greater change than I could as a single doctor.

This journey has taken me all over the world and through multiple learning experiences including a gym concept in central London that didn’t take off and a fitness apparel brand that failed after a few years.

It’s certainly not all been negative however and I’ve authored a book, appeared in multiple publications including Men’s Health, the Guardian and Telegraph and Men’s Fitness, I’ve set up a coaching company, lived in South East Asia for 7 months and launched a supplement brand in the States.

Welcome back to our Case Study Series. In this episode, I am talking with Naomi. Her main concern is that she might be losing more than $300.000/year because of the Entrepreneurial Impostor Syndrome. This is something that so many people feel, and it is becoming more obvious every day. Let's solve the problems Naomi has, and I hope this will help some of you deal with yours.

Problems and challenges * When I need to pitch myself to new clients I get nervous - I am not as good as other entrepreneurs * If I have not done a task before and got perfect results I am scared I might not get the results they want, it will be my fault, they are angry with me, I have let them down, their are disappointed, I feel like a failure, ashamed, embarrassed * Belief that everyone is making stuff up all the time, don’t know all the answers, just trying their best * My work is so easily tracked so it is very obvious when my work is good or bad. Nervous that I will judged by my clients that I am not good enough * Not confident enough in what I have to offer * Constant Worry and anxiety that maybe I am doing something wrong or I am not doing the best that my client could have gotten from someone else * Always thinking to myself “Why would they trust me?” * Effects/Results + Holds me back from pitching and outreach. Only doing 5-10% of what I could be doing + I could be making another $27k/month or $324k/year + Holds me back from being a superstar and changing the planet for the better helping a lot of people + Spend 20% more time on projects that I need to make them perfect in my own mind. This 288 hours per year of extra work I don’t need to be doing + Drains my energy - only 4/10 energy + Health: I make worse health decides when I feel this way - Eat 1-2 more dessert servings than usual - I work out more to contact my negative emotions and stress about this. For 2-3 hours. + I rely on others to give me confidence, so when they are not around I have a big problem * Nervous, uncertain, scared, stomach tense, rapid shallow breath + 6 y.o. Parents sat me down told me they were getting divorced + Send the energy of certainty and calm to her + What color is this to you in this moment - purple + How many ancestors have you got on your mom’s side? + Fathers? + Past lives with this pattern? + Percentage left? 60% + WWIT to get it to 50%? * Cut cords with family + How many in place? 3 + Where was it attached in your body? - Hip - How kept in place - not noticing + 2nd - heart - rope + 3rd - upper back, between shoulders, grey, shame * WWIT for it to be safe, right and good to see all my reality clearly? + Trust + WWIT to trust? - Seeing the patterns I run - Inward journey - Meditation and psychedelics - Gratefulness * What percentage left now? 50% * Did you or parents checkout during your birth, pregnancy and conception? * Clear from DNA, cells, organs, chakras * What percentage left now? 49% * WWIT to get it to 48 ¾ % * What are you afraid of if you let this go? + Confident, + Role model - Steve Jobs * Spiritual Advisory Board - Steve Jobs, Frank Warren, Gandhi, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, Nelson Mandela + What would they say? - Just do it - Do it while I feel uncomfort rather than wait to feel comfortable before I do it - Trust yourself - Ask them for the exact words to write or say in your work * At 40% * WWIT to get 30%? + practice + Discipline + What other area of your life do you have discipline in? - In yoga - How - Think about the results you want rather - Not giving myself outs, no alternative - Do it with other people - Pay a teacher * At 30% * Ask your future self what helpful to clear this fully? * What yoga pose would help? Jordan Greenhall talks about "Combining Intuition with Rational Mind - a more effective solution in Business" in this episode of the Intuitive Leadership Mastery Podcast with host Michael Light. Jordan is now in his seventeenth year of building disruptive technology companies. Classic “Ready Player One” style 80’s nerd. Comics, science fiction, computers, way too much TV and role-playing games. Oh, so many role playing games. Naturally, these interests led to a deep dive into contemporary philosophy (particularly the works of Gilles Deleuze and Manuel DeLanda), artificial intelligence and complex systems science in college in the early 90’s and then, as the Internet was exploding into the world, a few years at Harvard Law School of all places where he spent time with Larry Lessig, Jonathan Zittrain and Cornel West examining the coevolution of human civilization and technology.

Here are some of the topics discussed in the podcast:

  • Jordan's creative and writing process that lets him write in depth new ideas such as in his viral article "Situational Assessment 2017". And the role of intuition in this.
  • Why getting inside your opponent's OODA loop is key in politics or business. Observe Orient Decide Act
  • The highest bandwidth OODA loop wins.

  • A meme https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme is "an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture". A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme. Memes are the cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate, and respond to selective pressures.

Welcome back to our Case Study Series.

Sam is an amazing sales consultant and language learning entrepreneur She already was using amazing WWIT since our previous session,

How to apply the first tools from the book within 12 hours and achieve big shifts in her business within 24 hours Topics:

  • How you can deal with spiritual upgrades in the middle of the night?
  • How to impregnate a book or business product service with strong success energy?
  • Why being your true self leads to more sales and more connections?
  • Why polarizing your audience is the key to sales success?

How you can deal with spiritual upgrades in the middle of the night? * The moment when you are so relaxed, but not asleep yet. You just want to fall asleep, but a thought comes up. * Thoughts and ideas rushing through my head * Writing only have a small note, I would remember the whole thing

  • I've been wanting to get my name to YouTube and do a podcast
  • I don't feel like I have anything to offer

Ideas: * I'm a sales person! * Why don't I just talk to them about their businesses? * After publishing a podcast, they will feel easier to talk with me about it

Problems and solutions: * Keeping a phone by your bed- try pen and paper, because of the distractions from your phone * Do guided meditation * Try to get your body to a state to being able to listen to your intuition * Confusing insomnia with this state of energetic upgrade * Used to stay up for hours, stressing

  • I ask myself, WWIT for me to feel alerted, rested and healthy in the morning, independent of how many hours I was sleeping? just take a nap during the day, and avoid being a slave to the routine
  • Being both wired and tired
  • TWIRED

  • Hot shower with lights off, just seat in the steam, do some meditation, nothing vocal

  • Let your mind clear out, your sinuses clear out
  • Imagine every drop of water as a new drop of love on you

How to impregnate a book or business product service with strong success energy? * Reiki- benefits and bad sides * Suggested options instead of Reiki * Using tools like WWIT and TLC * Intuition journal * AB testing of the things you are trying out

Why being your true self leads to more sales and more connections? * You may have to drop your fake masks * Problem: my own fear not allowing me to be myself, and pretend being somebody else * Being a sales person, doesn't mean you should pretend of being somebody else * Some ppl will like you, some won't- so what? * Whatever it takes is different than WWIT- just do what it takes to get what I want- that is very bad. * People will be able to feel you're fake * When you start to do what's best for the person, and for your company, that's the moment you will have benefit as well. * Let's figure out what's best for you! * No. 1 goal is to make their life better, to get them to take action. * IF their life is better, so is mine. * Being your true self works!

Why polarizing your audience is the key to sales success? * Polarizing= putting things into separate groups * Selling to everybody leads to no one buying * You're being uninteresting that way. No one will be hooked * Don't have to be radical about this. Polarize to at least some extent * Being OK with some people love you, and some people hate you * Why the haters are the best for improving your product? * The ones who like you are not going to tell you honestly what they feel * Aikido- use someone else's energy and use it against them * Emotionally do the same thing * Slipping- just slip out their way, and instead of holding a shield which is heavy, let it pass you

Anna Wickham talks about “Quitting Drinking to Hear Your Intuition (How Anna moved from burnout to abundance)” in this episode of the Intuitive Leadership Mastery Podcast. Three years ago when I first met Anna, she was NOT intuitive at all. She was all logic. I was in her first mastermind at DCBKK 2014 talking about mindfulness, consciousness, and intuition. She later shared that she had no clue what we were talking about.

Today, she is totally different and uses her intuition freely in her business. Which is by the way, far more successful and happier for her to run.

Here is how she made this big change.

In this episode, we discussed:

Before - How not using intuition - Like swimming upstream, working so hard, burnout After - ease, peace, accept oppotunites the universe brings. Living her purpose - bigger than just making money Making more money, working less, happier and healthier. How to create time for Self-care gym, yoga, healthy food - and why this matters to your business success How she stopped the work, party, sleep cycle.

Her Rock bottom moments -

  • Hangover day when could not focus on work and her team
  • Bad client situation - agency never would be profitable because expenses went up with new clients, failure
  • How to not re-addict to another method to cover up pain
  • Why being curious is key
  • How she cleared perfectionism and self-judgement

"One of the things that changed for me during my "rock bottom" moment that I talked about in my blog post is that I found my spirituality for the first time. It has completely turned my life and business around. I am now living in my zone of genius and experiencing more abundance than I ever thought possible.

I believe that most problems in society – drugs, obesity, alcoholism, workaholism, and even consumer debt and materialism – are all a result of us looking for ways to fill a void we feel in our hearts." - Anna

"The drinking part, though, was so much fun. Drinking was like liquid relaxation. It was instant relief from the anxiety that I thought I otherwise couldn’t escape. But I wouldn’t have told you I was anxious or even unhappy.

I didn’t realize I was unhappy, or that I was using alcohol as a “force quit” button for my overactive mind rather than learning how to turn it off myself. I didn’t understand it until more than 6 months after I quit drinking." - Anna

Interview transcript:

Michael Light: Well how do you use intuition in your business?

Kundan Chhabra: There are two things I do. One is body awareness, where I think about a vision that I have, actually what I want do to and I connect to my body and see how my body feels about it. That's pretty much how I use my intuition for everything ... even what food I want to eat for example, if I am not sure, where I connect to my body and if there is no response that means I don't actually want it. Its like a loop of programming in my head that tells me I should want it and, if there is a response and I feel good and I feel specifically if I feel my core desire of feelings in my body than, I really do want it and its the right thing for me.

Now sometimes occasionally, I might even have a negative feeling, and that is an opportunity to explore further as to why I might be ... There might be a sub conscious limiting belief going or there might be an actual thing in reality, in physical reality that might be not good for me and I need to explore. Normally, its just either there is a good feeling or there is no feelings. So that's one way.

Another way is, I stated in one of my comments, a new way that I have been doing is to think about an action or a vision, and ask myself if this action would create beautiful dreams tonight. If it doesn't happen, it probably isn't the right action. Yeah, so that's pretty much it actually.

Michael Light: So tell me more about, you said that when you want to manifest something you ask or create beautiful dreams. Tell me more about that approach?

Kundan Chhabra: Yeah, I am still diving into that, because I know my dreams lead to beautiful thoughts, so I am trying to create a way to go in the other direction. There is a novel called 'The Kin of Ata are Waiting for You' by Dorothy Bryant. Have you read it?

Michael Light: I haven't, no.

Michael: First of all, what does it stand for? It’s What Would It Take.

Till: OK.

Michael: OK? You were saying that you were at another meeting and you were saying, “Hey, maybe we can’t get together for this interview today.” I asked you, “What would it take to get together today?” Would be the full version of what I asked you. Then you came up with a solution.

Till: Yeah, I cut the last minute in half and went here by taxi.

Michael: Yeah. It all worked out perfect. When we’re in business, we often have challenges and problems. It’s easy to focus on the problem, to worry about things.

I woke and I opened my eyes and I saw a guy standing in my bedroom, a guy that I didn’t know, a stranger. I was freaked out, but I couldn’t move, so I just stared at the guy, and he stared at me. Then from out of nowhere, he had this like red glowing ball in his hand, and he threw it towards me and it landed on my bed. I can still feel it.

Taylor Pearson: When I think about intuition in my business the first thing that comes to mind is this idea I started playing with maybe a year and a half to two years ago, I call Founder-Product-Market Fit. You get a lot of talk with startup world about Product-Market Fit. I have this product, how do I get to the point where it’s a good fit with the market? The question that very rarely gets asked is, am I the founder? Or, am I a good fit for this market and am I a good fit for this product? And those are very intuitive questions.

One of the questions I’ve asked myself when it comes to “Am I a good fit for this market” is, think about who your ideal customer avatar is.
