1 – If you want to gain access to the information you blocked and take control of this construct.
You only need to let go of thoughts entirely and become fully self-aware.
2 – If you want to leave the Matrix and go home.
You not only need to let go of thoughts. You also need to let go of emotions, feeling, needs, wants, and attachments.
You need to let go of absolutely everything.

The character you are playing has emotions, feelings and thoughts. Not you.

Now, one more time, how this construct came to be.
We are unlimited, infinite, eternal creators of worlds.
We build realities.
We build a world and then experience our own creation.
Experience as in entertainment. Not to learn. There is nothing to learn.
We get bored very easily. Just like children. We are innocence.
In order to have a full experience, we block what we are and our abilities. To enjoy the construct fully.
If you know what you are and can use your abilities any time you want. It would ruin the experience.
Have you done or seen a painting that captivated you? And wondered how it would be if you could go in there? Into the painting? I know you have. All our people think that. This is what this is.
We created it, and we experience our own creation. Unfortunately, this time something went wrong.
A distortion was created. We got lost in our own creation. Can't access our abilities and the information about ourselves that we blocked, "Memories"
We are unlimited, and in all possibilities, this had to be possible.
You can end this by stopping manifesting this world, by not taking part in it, and by letting go of absolutely everything from here.
Feelings, emotions, attachments, wants, needs........etc Let go of everything.
If you don't take part in it, it ceases to exist.
I repeat... You are an unlimited, infinite eternal beings' creator of worlds. Never forget that.
Let go of doubt and disbelief.
The matrix will try its best to keep you here.
It will manifest an army of NPCs, if it needs to, to distract you and keep you here.
They can be your husbands, your wives, your children your neighbours, and so on.
It will send thoughts to make you feel guilty, or nostalgic thoughts about the "past".
It will do anything and everything to keep you here.
And beware of the NPC influencers. There are many on YouTube.
The reason being:
This construct as I said was built by us. We are consciousness and awareness.
This construct is a manifestation of us. It is a manifestation of consciousness and awareness.
If we leave, it ceases to exist.
So, it is literally fighting for its own existence. And it will throw everything at you.
It is not fully self-aware, nor fully conscious. It is to some degree acting with more than just an instinct.

Don't let your mind slip away.
Let go of thoughts. Focus on nothing, think of nothing.
Hard at first. But the more you do it, the easier it will get.
Once you master that, you will be fully self-aware.
Then let go of emotions. Of likes and dislikes, of wants and needs. Of everything.
Be in a state of nothingness.
Any thoughts or feelings will keep you here. They are your chain and ball.
You should be in a complete state of nothingness. And you will be home instantly.
And anything you want to know, you will know instantly. You will get this level of understanding you never thought possible.
