Having survived a very toxic situation I'd mistaken for love, I share my experience. What I learnt and what to look out for so that you're able to make better decisions about love interests that you pursue and allow into your life. This is especially important for members of the LGBTQ community as a lot of us learn a very toxic love style after growing up having never really been fully seen.
I discuss growing up in South Africa. The effects and circumstances of discovering my blackness. Growing up in a multicultural community and needing to navigate my newly discovered blackness. Trying to distance myself from poverty as a trauma response to an event in my childhood. Moving across different social strata into middle-income/middle class socio-economic circumstances, the distinction between the two and the effects they had on my growth. I discuss learning to do the work of unmasking and leading a more authentic life and how difficult that can be if you're unaware of the many forms of identification growing up black in SA forces you to assume in order to survive.
I have an extended conversation about the experience of being South African currently.
I soon hope to shoot content highlighting a lot more of the positive aspects however the urgency of the moment leading up to the 2024 elections I felt required me to take an honest reflection on various troubling issues in particularly the black South African community.

We discuss how technologies like CRISPR Cas-9 could benefit society but also potentially exacerbate a lot of the challenges we currently face particularly those around inequality. This technology almost allows us to play God with our own genetic make-up and without careful consideration and inclusivity the benefits of the technology may be supplanted by the ways in which it could all go horribly wrong
