Haskayne MBA 2020 Evening Cohort Grad Podcast is volunteer-led non-profit random chats with the MBA-to-be's hosted by Kewen Wood.
This is it, the series finale, the end of an era, and the beginning of a new life. I think we have all flipped our pages and started the new chapter in our own way. What a great pleasure being able to host this thing and chat with many of you!
In the last episode of the Grad Talk series, I have the honour to interview my darling "school wife" Renée, the always kind, bright, brilliant, humourous, unpretentious, modest, energetic, glue-to-the-group, great great person we all know well. I obviously don't have enough juice in my English vocabulary to be even close to describing her accurately. The soon-to-be mother said, (with doing this podcast) now it really feels like school is finally done. On the other hand, I could not think of a better person to wrap it up with. Towards the end of this last episode, you shall also expect an unexpected confession.
Until next time, take care, dear friends!
It was an honour to record the second last episode with Nathan Baker, aka Ricky Baker, aka Social Spider (says Kewen, because he's got webs everywhere), one of the first-ever graduates from our cohort. In this episode, Nathan shared his wisdom (from age) about health, life, and the definition of love.

Let the showbiz begin. From being a traditional Indian son to being comfortable with the new life he has built in Canada, Shobhit shared his journey with us in this episode of Grad Talk. He also wants to say, if you need a friend, you can always reach out to Shobhit.
Hey, it's been a while. Hit this episode to hear from Rob, the guy was on the waitlist at the beginning of our journey. Like many of us, Rob went through some major life changes during the 3 years. His favourite quote now is "When you climb up a ladder, don't forget to help to pull those behind you."
Take a ride with Bilal from his personal story, to life philosophy, then to the MBA experience. The complementary background noise for this episode is neighbour's lawn mower. I decided not to edit it out because I think it was written for us.
How many people have been waiting to hear from the one and only Wes? Now realizing I forgot to ask Wes one thing most people don't know about him. You'll have to ask him yourself. Executive editor: Matt Bell.
In this episode, you'll learn about the one hundred side hustles Raf runs. My favourite part is the coaching side of him kicking in and telling people, if you are in a room full of amazing and accomplished people, you deserve to be there.
It was a pleasure to hear from Aron, the idea guy, the initiator behind this podcast. My favourite part was, what Aron considers as failure is not trying. It was an honour to have the first ever guest Tracy as the co-host for this episode as well :)
From a framer to an MBA. I had a really lovely chat with Ryan about the unexpected life, pivots, and the learnings and growth he has had thus far. Minding you, Ryan is still a young fellow (I know we all are, but he's younger haha). I cannot wait to see where life will take him, or should I say, where he will navigate his life to in the future. In this episode, Ryan has also shared his secret of zoning out, one that a lot of us can relate XD. Special thanks to the executive editor: Matt Bell.
In this episode, we have Prab Grewal share her after-MBA experience with us. She alerted us about the burnout from this wonderful but tough journey that could last months. Yet, at the end of the day, let us not forget we could all have substantial growth from adversity.
Listen to this episode to figure out why Wendy became a dietitian and who the special guest is :)
Rous, the first new mom in our MBA cohort, shared her experience on today's episode. Despite facing traumatic moments, her courage and strength shone through, ultimately resulting in a happy ending. Her journey reminds us of the power and resilience of motherhood and serves as an inspiration to us all as individuals.
In this episode, Crystal shared her true self and vulnerability deep down with us. If it hit your soft spot as well, give her a hug when you see her next time.
In this episode, you will hear from Yang about how living in Canada changed his perspectives, how he gains confidence, and how he prepared for an interview with this podcast :)
Yay, The 10th episode! Suzanne was wearing a pink shirt during this interview, and it was surprising to find out Suz was once being bullied. She is also the one who plays the piano! Shoutout to Executive Editor Matt Bell for editing.
And Kory loves every single sport. Special credit to our executive editor for this episode, Matt Bell :)
Hear from Kurt about his journey of the pivot and the path to find his leadership style :) Background noise, MTH421's heating vent...
Hear from one of the two new moms from the MBA program, Ariana. Complementary background noise by Thiago :)
Finally, the guy asked the cohort about their orange juice preference. Chat went a bit long with Madison, but it was a great chat :) Come visit me for your episode if you want black sesame rice cakes too, lol.
Thanks to the new fancy MTH we all paid for, lol. This episode was recorded in one of the syndicate rooms. Nope, I still can't imagine Matt with a Mohawk.
Story of an SK small-town boy. Jenny K's is not a sponsor, yet...
Complementary background noise: Lily barking, Lily walking on the floor, dishwasher running, airplane humming, basement renovation wall sanding, unsilenced iPhone...
