”Untold Tales from This Side of Nowhere” is a hilarious podcast about the mishaps and adventures of life in the rural West. Join host Connor Jones as he recounts previously untold tales about the Al and his twin brother Fred’s experiences growing up on a ranch this side of nowhere in Poverty Flats, Wyoming, as well as various exploits in the great outdoors. You’re sure to laugh so hard you cry, or at least get a decent chuckle out of it. Come along for the ride!
We all love stuff, and we all probably have too much stuff, but what stuff would you truly consider to be essential? I dive into that question and explore my own essential gear selections on this throwback episode. Enjoy!
If you live out West, chances are you have spent some time around chainsaws. I grew up in a family that heated our home with wood, so we dedicated several hours to collecting firewood. You would think that cutting up, loading, and stacking wood would be a terrible job, but the Jones family was creative (or maybe crazy) enough to have a good time doing it...
My twin brother Adam and I go way back. No, seriously, all the way back. He is in town this weekend, so I only thought it appropriate we use this one for the Untold Tales Retold this week. Enjoy!
If you have kids, you know what a joy fishing with them can be. There's nothing like watching your kids land a fish. The excitement. The laughter. The joy. Then there are the countless hours spent untangling knots, the complaining about the cold, and the crying. Yes, fishing with kids is a roller coaster. Sometimes they just want to get back in the truck, and maybe you should too...
It just seems like a good time to talk about fishing, and nothing beats the authentic fishing experience. Only the true anglers among us know what I'm talking about. If you don't listen to find out!
It's the 4th of July, and the United State of America is 250 years old! For this week's episode we're looking at one of the 50 states and what makes the Cowboy State unique. Only in Wyoming can you have more trailers than neighbors. Or have people stop to take pictures with your population sign...
This shocking tale is sure to make your blood run cold--if you can stop laughing. This episode featured one of our very first guests on the show and it's definitely worth another listen!
If you were a Boy Scout, then you may remember the hiking merit badge--or maybe it's a repressed memory! One of the major requirements for the merit badge is the completion of a 20 mile hike, and in northwestern Wyoming, a 20 mile hike can take you to the middle of nowhere...
With all the summer driving we're doing, it brings back memories of working with my Grandpa Iverson delivering ice. Grandpa was notorious for working long hours, and that often made him sleepy. Sometimes he even drove while drowsy, and that was when things got interesting...
People used to say, "If I had a million dollars..." but with inflation, you almost have to have five million to really do anything extravagant. That would also allow you to take care of your family and charitable pursuits before turning to important matters--like hunting and fishing. With that much money, even my wife wouldn't mind hunting and fishing--or would she?
This is the first story I ever published! It was featured in the Wyoming Rural Electric News (WREN) back when we lived in Idaho Falls. Just like chocolate ice cream, though, it's still good any time you want it!
I think every kid in the good ole US of A has played at least one game of baseball, and us kids growing up in the middle of nowhere were no different. I'm sure you'll relate to the Jones's experiences learning to play America's pastime and hopefully get a few laughs along the way. Play ball!
I know some folks might take a lot of stock in what I have to say, but it might surprise you how often people do ask me for advice. It's practically on a daily basis! If you don't believe it, just give this one from our first season a listen!
It really is a crying shame, the way some people treat their children. I myself fell victim to a highly addictive habit at a young age, and in this episode, I tell you all about Al's journey down a path from which he has never recovered...
The description I wrote for this one is good enough to use again!:
What happens when you mix four boys with about a million hornets? Quite the story, that's what! Listen in to find out what new mischief Al and his twin brother get into in their little town of Poverty Flats, Wyoming during this week's untold tale from this side of nowhere.
In addition to an essay on Wyoming and its history, there's some big news to share from the Jones family! Or some little news, I guess, depending on how you look at it... If you want to know what it is, I guess you'll have to give this one a listen!
Listening to this one again brought back great memories, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it, too. Like when pennies were a thing. Or my kids were littler. You get the idea. Enjoy!
You have it. I have it. We all have it. It's spring! Or at least we wish it were... Don't worry, winter will end. Eventually.
My Grandpa Hildreth is one of my favorite people in the world, and telling a story with him on the podcast was a blast! Listen in for a story from a golden storyteller on this Untold Tales Retold.
Sometimes it can be hard to tell if an electric fence is active or not. They usually make noise, but you can never be too sure. Surely Al and Fred would never be dumb enough to touch an electric fence to find out...
Here's a throwback to the first year of the show! If it ain't broke, why fix it? Unless it is broke, then I guess you're going to have to...
First dates can be so intimidating. You always wonder how things will go. Will you hit it off? Embarrass yourself? Have to change your name and move to a different state? Luckily for Lily and Al, their first date worked out just fine.
I was probably ten years old when I learned there are alternatives to processing your own wild game. I just didn't know you could harvest a deer and then you could pay someone else to cut it up for you! (If you are just now learning this as well, we probably had similar upbringings...) That being said, the Jones clan cut up a LOT of their own meat...
A student-teacher was telling me the other day how it feels like time just seems to fly by when you're in the outdoors. It reminded me of this episode from February of 2023. My how time has flown! Almost as if I actually had been fishing the past three years...
From time to time we receive listener mail here at Untold Tales from This Side of Nowhere, and once in a while it's even from people who enjoy the show! In this episode Al answers a few of the messages we've received here at UTFTSON. Enjoy!
You probably have some irrational fears. Al has his own, too, and they make for great podcasting. Listen to one of our favorites, the second ever episode of the show and a story that was featured in the WREN (Wyoming Rural Electric News) magazine!
Dirt. We're surrounded by it. It gets in the house; it gets in your shoes; it gets in your hair. But if you try to buy some, you find out just how valuable it is...
Here's another fan favorite from back in the day! Take a seat and enjoy "Getting Benched," an episode that talks not only about Al's illustrious career riding the bench on the basketball team, but also about the infamous bench seat of an old pick-up truck...
The decision to discontinue the penny was a long time coming, but it still hurt. Can you believe there was a time when you could buy candy for a penny? For Al's Grandpa Myron, that was a reality for most of his life. In an episode celebrating what would have been Grandpa's 100th birthday, Connor tells the story of Grandpa Jones and the piece of penny candy he almost didn't get to eat...
They say there's no such thing as too much of a good thing, and we agree. Here's an episode you probably haven't heard for a while--maybe for a few years! For your listening pleasure, Episode 1, Welcome to Poverty Flats.
"I love getting sick," said no one ever. Getting sick is the worst, and there are certain places and times when getting sick is even worse. In this episode I recount a friend's experience on a flight to go hog hunting in Texas. Let's just say it wasn't his best flight...
Merry Christmas! In this holiday special, Al spends Christmas a long way from Poverty Flats in sunny Southern California during his time as a missionary. You'll never believe what happens--it may even be called a Christmas miracle...
If you think this episode is about bears, you're right. If you think it's about another embarrassing event in the lives of Fred and Al, you are also right. Guess you better listen to this one!
Let's face it--everyone has a great story about getting stuck, and plenty of advice about how to get un-stuck. But does anyone have advice on how to actually get stuck in the first place? Introducing the first-ever (mostly) complete guide to getting stuck. Now you can really spend some quality time in the mountains!
In the first few days of the Jones' Charleston vacation they've seen the ocean, been saltwater fishing, and visited Fort Sumter, but there's still so much more to do in South Carolina! The best is yet to come, though, in the final part of this three-part story.
The South Carolina vacation continues in part two of West Meets South, and in this part, the Jones boys actually get to go fishing! But how will two country boys born a thousand miles from the nearest ocean fare saltwater fishing?
It's a long ways from Wyoming to South Carolina, and the two places couldn't be more different. One is bone-dry with frigid winters, and the other hot and humid. When the Jones boys and their spouses go to South Carolina, they bring a piece of the West with them, and they're more than pleased with what they find down South. The only question is--do people really fish for dolphins in South Carolina?
There are only four states in the US that don't have a professional sports team--minor or major--in at least one of the "big four": baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. Wyoming, unsurprisingly, is on that list, but that doesn't mean Wyomingites aren't sports fans, the Jones family included! So, if you don't have a home team, who do you cheer for? Join me and my special guest, my sister Brinna, as we discuss!
When people say "we're building a house" they usually don't mean it. Very rarely does someone actually build their own house; most of the time they mean they're paying someone to build it. That wasn't the case with the Jones family... You'll see, er, hear what I mean.
The law of causality states that all actions are followed by a direct consequence. You might know it as karma. But did you know it applies to the outdoors, too? I'm sure you've been the victim of this particular brand of karma and its cousins. Like that one time...
Life is full of unsolved mysteries. Who actually built Stonehenge? Why doesn't the close door button on an elevator do anything? What's for dinner? These are just a few. In this episode, Al tackles a few unsolved mysteries and you're sure to be amazed by his deductive reasoning. Or maybe not...
Free pizza for life. Pickup trucks that get 45 miles to the gallon. That Nigerian prince who wants to give you five million dollars. There are lots of things that are too good to be true, and this story is about one of them. On a hike to Lost Lake, Al and the rest of Troop 41 are amazed by what they find at the lake--and it makes the effort of getting there worth it.
When your friends start interrupting you to say they've already heard the story you're telling, it's either time to get some new friends or time to get some new stories. Both can be expensive. But what if you had a story no one has heard yet? One even the person who knows you best has never heard?
There are watering holes. There are donut holes. There's even a Hole in the Wall gang, but if you grew up in the country, then you are probably also familiar with the swimming hole. This side of nowhere, there's no better place to be on a hot summer day, and Al, Fred, and the Trio of Trouble would have to agree.
It's not uncommon for the more experienced among us to spend a fair amount of time shooting the bull, but this episode isn't about that kind of shooting the bull, is it? When Al and Fred's cousins from the West Coast come to town, they find out that shooting the bull can a have a different meaning when Grandpa gets involved...
A breeze. A zephyr. A gale. Whatever you call it, Wyoming's got it, and it's taken more than a few people by surprise. Wind is just a part of life in Wyoming, and it would never make life's tasks more difficult, right?
Of the many pets owned by the Jones family over the years, one of the most memorable was Levi the Leviathan. His meteoric rise to fame and eventual fall from grace would result in a tragedy of dramatic proportions–or at least dramatic for a crawfish.
Some movies are just so quotable. From Star Wars to Monty Python, cinema is replete with lines that fit so many situations, and Al and his friends love dropping movie quotes whenever they get the chance. "I'm going in!" might just be one of the most infamous...
You'll never forget the day you got your first pocket knife--and everyone who knew you at the time won't forget it either. From your parents to the paramedics who assisted with the aftermath, everyone involved will forever have that day etched in their memories...
Every year, the graduating class of Poverty Flats' high school takes a trip to the nation's capital to broaden the students' cultural horizons and give them an appreciation for our nation's rich history and the workings of the US government. That isn't to say they don't have a good time or have to make some last-minute changes to their plans...
Taking a trip can be expensive--and painful. I should know since I have plenty of experience. You have probably taken a trip a time or two yourself. Parents trip over their kids' toys, construction workers trip head-first into manholes, and athletes trip on untied shoelaces. Everyone trips, but outdoor people probably trip more than anyone else. That's where trip insurance for the outdoors comes in...
It's spring in Northwestern Wyoming, and that not only means things are greening up, but farmers need to make way for new growth. So, they burn, and sometimes--just sometimes--things get a little out of hand...
Whenever you talk about the possibility of something happening shortly before it actually does, it's hard not to think there could be a connection between voicing your fears and seeing them come to life. Whether or not that really is the case, Al's opinion is that keeping your mouth shut is probably the best idea--especially when it comes to the weather...
If you wear corrective lenses, you know they aren't always the most convenient for hunting or fishing. From fogged up glasses to losing your spectacles, you can probably appreciate my reluctance to get a pair of glasses, but looking back, it might not have been such a bad idea! Join Al and his brother Caldwell for a story about why glasses, though inconvenient, are worth sacrificing a little pride.
"'Tis better to beg forgiveness than to ask for permission," the old saying goes. But does it apply to fishing? For Al, it does! Listen in as Al's innocent love of fishing gets him into a trouble (again) in the latest episode of Untold Tales from This Side of Nowhere. I'm sure you won't be able to relate at all!
They say that two things are unavoidable--death and taxes. And while it's true that you can't take it with you, you might wonder what will happen to your hunting and fishing equipment when you're gone. More importantly, what will happen to your good name? Al and his buddy Marty attempt to scratch the surface in the latest episode of UTFTSON.
Chances are you have one at home. It's known by many names--a chest freezer, the deep freeze. Your mother thinks its just for frozen food, but we all know the possibilities are endless...
Merry Christmas! We're closing out 2024 with a Christmas story from Al and Fred's Boy Scouting days. Will they get what they wanted, or will it be socks again?
Winter driving is just part of life this side of nowhere, and the Joneses grew up driving in the snow. Most of the time they even stayed on the road. This episode is chalk full of stories you won't want to miss out on, and many you can probably relate to. Listen in for Al and Fred's adventures traversing Wyoming's roads in the snow.
In most places, the term "traffic jam" refers to a high volume of cars stopped in the middle of the road. A Wyoming traffic jam occurs when there are so many cows on the road, no one can get by to feed their own cows. This and other terms take on new meaning in the Cowboy State, and in this episode I break down some of the more common terms. Test your knowledge of Wyoming jargon with my (sort of) complete list!
Medicine Lodge Campground and Archeological site is a popular destination for Wyomingites and tourists alike, and its easy to see why. Located on the banks of the beautiful Medicine Lodge Creek, this campground is a regular paradise, and its petroglyphs have been drawing visitors for generations. Could it attract visitors from even farther away, though? Perhaps otherworldly visitors? Listen to find out!
Fences--if you're from the West, you understand. For most people, fences play a passive role, but that's not the case This Side of Nowhere! In this episode I'm joined by special guests, my sons Reuben (5) and Joseph (2) as we talk about fences in the great American West, and the boys have some pretty great insights!
Living in Southern California for two years as a missionary was definitely an adjustment. Surrounded by buildings and people, I missed the wide open spaces of Wyoming, but that didn't keep me from getting outside now and then! In this episode, join the then Elder Jones and his missionary companions on a hike they all enjoyed--well, almost all of them.
Surprise! Betcha thought this one was a two-part episode. Now I guess you have no choice but to listen to part 3! Do the boy scouts make it out of Carroway Canyon? Do they get eaten by a large carnivorous animal? There's only one way to find out...
The epic journey of Troop 41 down Carroway Canyon continues in this, the second part of a two-part episode. Or is it a two-part episode?
It has been my experience that things usually go according to plan until they don't. The anxiety of waiting for things to start going south can be too much for many people to bear, so what can you do? Well, starting things off by going downhill is one solution! That's pretty much what happened with our hike down Carroway Canyon...
The Olympic Games were absolutely amazing this year, as they always are, but I can't help but feel they would benefit from an outdoor twist. Perhaps some wildlife or some extreme outdoor elements would heighten the excitement, don't you think? I have some personal experiences that make me think so!
Anyone who has ever shot a gun has missed their mark. When you miss, one of two things happens. Either the miss isn't a big deal, or you need to change your name and get a new identity. This story may lean toward the latter of the two...
Unfortunately, even though hunting and fishing provide an escape from the world, you still have to pay to get to the escaping part. In this episode, Al tries to get his hunting and fishing spending under control and plan for the future, but as you can imagine it's easier said than done!
Ever noticed how two people can remember the same event or conversation in completely different ways? Just ask any politician. In this episode, Al and his buddy Mark find out how much trouble differing memories can cause, especially where land use is involved...
Special Guest alert! In this episode I'm joined by my mom, Leslie to share another story from this side of nowhere. From iPhones to cars, it seems we are always getting locked out of things. In this episode of Untold Tales, the Jones family finds out what happens when you get locked out of a pickup truck hundreds of miles from civilization--by a two-year-old!
I am always losing things I need and finding things I don't--like rocks. They always seem to turn up where I least expect them, almost as if they can actually move on their own. Maybe they can! I have a few experiences you'll want to hear about that may just convince you rocks aren't as motionless as we'd like to think...
There are certain endeavors that require complete commitment in order to be successful--playing the piano, baseball, yodeling, whatever. Then there are endeavors in the outdoors that call for a totally different level of commitment, mainly because failure probably means certain death, kind of like doing backflips on concrete. Curious? You should be!
Bet you've never heard of fur-bearing trout, but if you're one of the few who are lucky enough to have caught one, you're probably richer for it. At least, that's what Al, Fred, and cousin Jim are banking on. You're an adult, though, so you would never waste time or money on something as far-fetched as furry fish--or would you?
Ever had an experience that completely and irrevocably changed the way you look at the world? These shifts in perspective can come from any number of things--an accident, age, an embarrassing situation (you've never had any, I know). However these shifts come, things will never be the same. Listen in to see how Al's perspective has shifted--and to hear about some of the humorous experience that have contributed to those shifts!
I know you've had an experience involving miscommunication via texting or social media--we all have. Unfortunately, with all the abbreviations and slang used in texting, it can become almost another language--and that's before auto-correct gets involved! I bet you didn't know those who love outdoor sports have a whole different set of meanings for the most commonly used texting abbreviations--Lily, Al's wife didn't! Listen in to see what I mean.
Chances are, you either have one right now or you're going to have one once that sunburn you got this weekend heals a bit. Farmer's tans aren't just for farmers, and they are the most popular summer look in Poverty Flats, Wyoming. In this episode, we delve into the topic of tans, the absence thereof, and really bad sunburns.
Camping during the warm months of the year has its own challenges, but winter camping? That's a whole different ball game. If you've never tried it, you are probably a rational human being. If you have done winter camping, then you will probably relate to this story! This week join me for another Untold Tale from This Side of Nowhere as I recount the most infamous winter campout in Wyoming scouting history...
Perhaps the greatest adventure of life is parenthood, and that has certainly been the case for our family! We just welcomed our third son to the family, and it's brought back tons of memories, so this week's story is about the arrival of our first son, aka, Al Jr. Join me and my wife Haley, along with William, the newest member of the Jones clan, for this week's episode.
In this episode of UTFTSON, Al, Fred, and the other members of Troop 41, led by scoutmaster Eli Lyman, spend the night in Cattle Rustler Cave. When everyone but Eli forgets a flashlight, they get creative, and the results may just have made history--or did they?
AI is everywhere. Businesses are using it to improve productivity--and in some cases, eliminate humans--students are using it to do their homework, and images generated using AI permeate the internet. But what impact will AI have on hunting and fishing? Will it transform our favorite outdoor sports forever? I'm joined this week by special guest Bridger Jones as we explore those very questions. Don't miss out!
Images referenced in the podcast:

There are people who have a long-lasting impact on your life, individuals you will never (or cannot) forget. Anyone who has been a boy scout or even just had a mentor knows what I mean when I say your scoutmaster falls into this category. In this episode I present the origin story of Ely Lyman, a scoutmaster I will never forget!
You've probably heard of Jim Bridger and his reputation as a rugged mountain man. What you didn't know is Jim Bridger could be a little weak-kneed at the site of blood--and though it pains me to admit it, I am too. This character flaw has gotten me into trouble a time or two! Listen in to learn more.
When it comes to Christmas lights, hanging them up can be such a pain some people leave them up year round, and I don't blame them. If only that had been an option for us this side of nowhere...
Like its people, the vehicles in Wyoming have a lot of character. From duct tape to bailing twine, people find innovative ways to keep their cars and pickup trucks rolling--and sometimes they have a hard time getting them to stop!
Every great story has a beginning, and Lily and Al began their story at what may be the single best place to meet your future spouse -- the Dating Game. It's almost too good to be true, but it is. To top it all off, for the first time ever, I'm joined this week by my wife, Haley! Together we tell the story of how it all began, and we're sure that it would put Nicholas Sparks to shame!
Ever considered the amount of trust someone places in a hunting buddy? Just think of it, you're going to the middle of nowhere with another person who is armed to the teeth. You have to be pretty selective when you choose that person... In this episode, I provide some (mostly) helpful advice about how to find the ideal hunting companion!
This week I'm excited to be joined by my guest and former football coach, Mike Aagard! Come along for the inaugural Halloween episode of Untold Tales from this Side of Nowhere, as we share the infamous tale of Poverty Flats' urban legend... pause for effect... Drag Flop. You're sure to get a laugh out of the reaction of Al, Fred, and friends as they listen to a scary Halloween story--and maybe you'll be scared, too!
Those who know me will be surprised to learn that I am in fact a runner. Given my short stature and decidedly unathletic build, running didn't come naturally to me, but nonetheless, I am afflicted with the runner's curse. That being said, in a state where temperatures drop below freezing eight months of the year, running can be a tough sport to pursue, and this week I'm sharing some of the better (or worse) experiences I've had in this hobby. Whether you are a runner or not, you're sure to get a kick out of this episode!
Trash pandas. Ringtails. Masked bandits. In Spanish they're called mapaches. Whatever you call them, raccoons are trouble in an agriculture community like Poverty Flats, and this week Al's cousin, Nick, and his Uncle Greg take on a pack of raccoons when they invade a place so shocking you might not believe it! Give this one a listen, we dare you!
When was the last time you found yourself looking down at something to be cut, and thought, "Gee, I wish I had a knife on me"? Maybe you have found yourself looking down and wishing your pants had better pockets? It sounds like you need to give this episode on essential gear a listen! In this week's Untold Tale from this Side of Nowhere, Al shares the origin story behind his becoming a walking 72-hour kit. Check it out!
Whenever people ask me, "What's it like being a twin?" I tell them, "It's the best!"--even though I don't know any different! This week tune in to hear from a SPECIAL GUEST all about the mishaps and mix-ups Al and Fred have experienced being twins. You're sure to love this one!
If you have never chucked a dirt clod, you haven't lived, am I right? Just throwing them at the ground isn't enough, though. Before long you are just looking for targets... Listen to this episode to find out how things went a little too far when Al and his siblings challenged their cousins to full on dirt clod war--you're sure to enjoy it.
Let's be honest--saving money is getting harder all the time. At the same time, some would claim that if you aren't finding waves to pinch pennies, it's just because you aren't trying hard enough. Sometimes the cost of saving money is more than you bargain for, though... Listen to find out what I mean!
When it comes to hiking food, there are two things you have to remember: one, make sure it is light-weight, and two, make sure it is edible. Unfortunately not everyone is aware of these two requirements, and the results can be hilarious. Give this episode a listen to see what I mean!
There are two kinds of mountains in the West: the kind that has grizzlies, and the kind that don't. Personally, I try to avoid sleeping in a tent when I spend the night in the former of the two, but once in a while I'm forced to risk it. Hence, this podcast episode...
It seems like people are determined to take the easy way out, even when it comes to fishing. Everywhere I look, I see people using high-tech ergonomic gear, fishing at concrete ponds, and snapping selfies with monster fish. Authentic fishing seems to be a lost art in this modern era, so in this episode I share some pointers on how to have a true fishing experience. Anyone who has ever eaten a squished sandwich or forgotten their worms will know exactly what I'm talking about...
When traveling across Wyoming, one can feel like an interstellar space traveler, crossing vast stretches of nothingness between tiny points of life. Sounds daunting, right? Well, what happens when you add six kids and some car sickness to the equation? I guess you'll have to listen to this one...
Don't let the title fool you--this episode has plenty of laughs in spite of its name. This week's podcast features a special guest--Connor's oldest, ahem, eldest sister, Camilla, and she's here to set the story straight about what REALLY happened that summer day on the Bighorns. You'll have to listen to find out for yourself!
I like a good sandwich as much as the next man, but mustard and mayo should stay on sandwiches and off the road, if you know what I mean. If you don't know what I mean, you better give this episode a listen!
If you are like me, sports never were your strong point. If that is the case, then you, like me, are probably familiar with the term "getting benched." What you probably did not know is that it is possible (and far, far worse) to get benched not just as an athlete, but as a sportsman or woman. Give this episode a listen to find out what I mean!
This week we're joined by our first ever guest, my Grandpa H! We're sharing a story he told me about what happens when you mix a tiny Montana school house with multi-paned glass windows, a boy, and a really big steel marble. You probably have a guess or two about the results, but the only way to find out is to give this episode a listen!
If you're like me, you probably LOVE ice cream. I'm also willing to bet you probably don't love chicken excrement. Why would the two of them be included together in a podcast episode? Well, you'll just have to listen if you want to find out...
As surprising as it sounds, there are people who actually wantmy two cents when it comes to the great outdoors! Doesn't sound plausible? Listen to this week's episode to find out what kind of advice people ask me for, from family members to outfitters. Whether or not you will want my advice after listening is up to you...
If you haven't had an experience with breaking a window, you probably grew up somewhere where there were no rocks. In this episode, Al and Fred get into some good old-fashioned trouble--and learn a lesson or two.
What happens when you mix four boys with about a million hornets? Quite the story, that's what! Listen in to find out what new mischief Al and his twin brother get into in their little town of Poverty Flats, Wyoming during this week's untold tale from this side of nowhere.
Have you ever noticed how time seems to stand still when you're in the great outdoors? Well, you're not alone. Join host Connor Jones in this latest episode about how time slips away when you're hiking, fishing, or even watering the lawn. You're sure to relate and maybe even find out how to counter the effects of the void in time and space that makes all your outdoor endeavors take longer than planned.
Some may consider a fear of sharks in Wyoming's waterways an "irrational" fear, but to Al Jones it's a very real and very serious threat! In this episode of Untold Tales, the Jones family has a close shave with a shark in the Harrington reservoir--or do they? Listen to the second installment in Untold Tales from This Side of Nowhere to find out!
In this inaugural episode, meet the family who lives this side of nowhere in Poverty Flats, Wyoming. In this episode, Al and his family find out moving to a tiny trailer house in Northern Wyoming might be more of an adventure than they bargained for.
