That's why during Suicide Awareness Month, I wanted to make a podcast about breaking the taboo of discussing suicide. We will talk about how to ask your loved one if they are having thoughts of suicide, how to respond to either a yes or no, what follows for each answer, and much more!

We also have a 5 part mini series that breaks this podcast down into segments on Tiktok and Instagram @AndersonClinicCincy!

Welcome to another episode of Psych Waves! This is part 2 of 3 in our treatment series! In our first episode, we talked about barriers and stigma to getting treatment. Now, lets imagine you have surpassed those barriers and are ready to tackle your depression....but you have no idea where to start or what to do. Your primary doctor gives you a name, such as the Anderson Clinic, and a phone number. You call the number and they ask, "what services are you looking for" as if you already know. Sometimes, we don't know where to start, and that's ok! The primary goal of a consult is to get to know each other and establish a treatment plan. In this episode, we look at a Case Study of two similar, but not identical treatments for Treatment Resistant Depression: Ketamine versus Spravato. Join Dr. A as she describes the similarities and differences of each and how patient and doctor can work together to get you feeling better again!

In this new 3-part podcast series, we'll dive deep into the unanswered questions of the treatment process. The first episode is about how stigma and labels can prevent us from even taking the first step towards seeking treatment. The second episode will focus on what treatment can feel like, using Spravato (esketamine) and Ketamine for depression as a case study. Finally, we'll finish by addressing one of the biggest, and sometimes scariest, questions about treatment: what happens next once I actually start to feel better? Tune in for another series from Dr. Anderson!
