Welcome back to Out of Office after a well-deserved, yet eventful summer break! We're thrilled to kick off the second season of the podcast, co-hosted by Megan and our newest addition, Callie, for the fall semester.
Callie is a junior BDIC major with a concentration in visual communications and commerce from Holden, MA. This will be her second year in WiB and her first semester as a part of the E-board! Megan is a junior marketing major from Harvard, MA, and this is her second semester on the WiB E-Board and co-hosting Out of Office! Megan and Callie are both so excited to dive into a season packed with engaging conversations.
In this episode, we catch up on Megan and Callie’s summer, including their internship experiences, vacation highlights, and their return to campus life. Listen in for stories from Callie’s time at Her Conference, Megan’s off-campus adventures, and the invaluable lessons they both gained during their summer work experiences.

Today, Megan and Lisa reflected on some fun end-of-semester activities and divulged their team building takeaways. They also exchanged a few past summer highlights and shared their plans for this upcoming summer. From beaches to lakes, internships to getaways, there is so much to look forward to! This week, we had the honor of hosting two Women in Business legacies, former Co-Presidents Tyler Spellman and Alyssa Biscotti! Tyler, an insurance senior at EY living in Quincy, shared some tips for moving back home after graduation, and discussed her experience adjusting to the demands of a fast-paced 9-5. Alyssa, an audit & assurance senior at Deloitte living in South Boston, candidly spoke about her struggles acclimating to new environments, and the similarities between navigating your freshman year in college and your first year post-grad. Throughout Jan’s inspiring career, she has truly followed her passion, tuning out the noise from what others were doing and staying true to her own unique journey. Jan had a vision for her future, and she lived up to that dream by advocating for herself, trusting her colleagues, and prioritizing a strong, supportive team culture. She taught us a lot about the power of plants and how they can transform your mindset, and provided some clarity as we navigate our long-term career paths. This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Laura Balinski and Abbie Stevenson, last year's Co-Presidents, back for a much needed advice session. With graduation right around the corner for our co-host Lisa and the rest of our WiB seniors, recording this episode was crucial! Abbie and Laura discussed the importance of taking time to recharge after a busy senior year, moving into their first city apartments, starting their first "big girl" jobs, and maintaining a sense of community after moving beyond the friendship factory that is college. We also got the inside scoop on some of Boston's trendiest restaurants that we have already added to our city bucket lists! Sophia just led an amazing general body meeting for us about her journey starting her own small business and establishing both her personal and professional brand. In our conversation we were able to continue that discussion while also getting a more personal look at her experience being a small business owner while being a full-time student, and where she sees her career going from here!

Due to the holiday weekend and our general body meeting being scheduled for today instead of our usual Monday, I decided to push back our podcast episode as well!
This week we had a very special guest join us all the way from Hawaii - Caroline Tierney!! You may remember Caroline as our blog chair from last year, but since then she has been working on some major plans as she travels the world her junior year!
Caroline will be telling us all about her experience taking a gap semester this fall to pursue her dreams of traveling to Hawaii (and sharing some interesting stories along the way) and giving us some insight on all the exciting plans she has coming up- both with study abroad and her summer '23 internship!
It was so inspiring to hear her story navigating the world as a solo female traveler while pursuing her college degree, I'm so grateful that I was able to sit down with her and can now share her experience and advice with you all!
