The Rusty Playground

The Rusty Playground is a fun and informative podcast about Generation-X: The Coolest Generation. Hosted by Mattyman and Vannyboy, we discuss everything cool (and some not-so-cool) things about growing up as the MTV generation, during a time before seatbelts, the transition from black and white to color TV, and more. Generation-X, or Gen-X, is the name given to people born between 1965-1979. That's not a dead-set number, but hey, it's all made up anyway! Often referred to as "slackers" by Baby Boomers (our parents, Gen-X has generational commonalities like two-working parents, youth with no social media, MTV, pre-cable and post-cable world, and the best music God has given us, Gen-X is often associated with just being pretty laid-back, wanting to be left alone, having great music, and not getting into generational spats online! So join us as we take a light-hearted walk (or, since we are also the X-Games generation..limp) down memory lane as Mattyman and Vannyboy give us the lowdown on what it was like growing up with Rubic's Cubes instead of Smart-Phones, Atari 2600 instead of Xbox Series X, and Eddie Van Halen instead of John Mayer. This podcast isn't just for Gen-Xers, though. Everyone is welcome on the playground.
