I wanted to take a turn to a more serious note this episode. This stage of parenting has come with unexpected struggles navigating my own feelings. Parenting teens & preteens is some of what I expected, but just the stereotypical things, like dishes piled up in their room, laundry all over the floor, but a lot of what I never expected. Take a listen for stories about my kids who are wonderful messes (aren't we all?), about parenting this age group, & my first-timer moment this month!
In August of 2021, I decided to fly to Colorado to surprise my bestie. I met Lindsay in September 1995, basically around the first day of school. My Mom told me, “whoever you want to talk to, all you have to say is, ‘hi, my name is Erinn, what’s yours?’, and the rest of the conversation will just happen.” And it did. Hello! I’m Erinn! A nearly 40 year old Mom whose kids are getting older, and I’m finding myself with more time for me. I’ve been busy raising kids and developing a career for the last 16 years, there’s many things I’m discovering I haven’t done, or would love to do again. I’m a forty first timer, and maybe you are too…
