This week I got to discuss one of my favorite subjects, travel. We all love getting away from our everyday life from time to time, and what better way to escape than by taking a trip to a new place. The only trouble is it can be stressful to book every detail, plan every second, and by the time it's ready to go, you are even more stressed out. That's where my guest, William Vangroll, steps in to help.
William is a travel advisor with Fora travel, a travel agency that is adopting the new connected way of doing things by utilizing the power of social media and the internet to help its customers get the best experience possible. Throughout the episode William shares some insights into why it may be beneficial to hire a travel agent, especially if you are a busy business owner like me!
William also shares some do's and don'ts about corporate retreats, to ensure that you and your team have a proper bonding experience, rather than just having a big party. Welcome back to Learning Curves!
I'm excited to share episode 2 of season 5! This week I sat with Havilah Vangroll, the founder and CEO of HAVe Strategy Consulting. Havilah is an expert in all things related to people processes, which isn't just a fancy way of saying HR. Havilah specifically focuses on improving company culture, revenue, and perception by helping business owners build their employees up, to create what she calls "raving fan employees".
As Havilah says, "No matter how amazing, grand or impactful your company or idea is, without the right people or process you will not experience your maximum level of impact and success". Throughout the episode Havilah gives tips and insights into how to hire and retain your ideal employee. We all know the struggles and frustrations of hiring, training and then losing a vital employee, but thankfully there is another way! By building our employee's up and meeting them in the middle we can save time, money, and energy.

Hello and Welcome Back To Learning Curves!We're very excited to present season 5 of Learning Curves! This season we have a roster of unique and high profile guests for you with knowledge and insights into all areas of life and business. We decided to kick the season off with an episode that is ultra-relevant currently, learning to embrace change and letting go of the discomfort that comes with it, with guest Anne Bonney. Anne is a keynote speaker known for helping entrepreneurs and business owners learn to let go and embrace new business ventures and changes within their business.
Since the pandemic started in 2020, we have all had to adjust to "The New World", and it hasn't been easy for anyone. The way we work, socialize, and even relax has changed, for better and for worse. I hope this episode can give you all some tips and insights on how we can accept the changes in our lives and look at the positive sides of these changes!
As Anne likes to say "Change is the only constant". After moving 27 times, attending 13 different school from K-Masters, living on 4 continents, and having 6 distinct and successful careers, change has become her comfort zone, and embracing the discomfort that comes with it has helped Anne lead a fun and fulfilling life.
Anne has studied the anatomy of habit and change, and our reactions to change, and she thrives on igniting people’s courage to deal more effectively with change, because as Heraclitus said, “Change is the only constant in life.” So we might as well get good at it.

As Season 4 draws to a close I wanted to end the season with an episode that is a bit different than our usual shows. This week I sat with animal communicator and psychic medium Shannon Spring. Shannon has been communicating with animals since the young age of only 10 years old, making her one of the most experienced and well known animal communicators in the world!
Shannon's evidence based psychic mediumship readings help people better understand their animals and themselves. She gets answers to behavioral, emotional and medical challenges, and communicates with animals and people in Spirit. Readings spare needless suffering for pets and people, and provide grief relief, comfort, connection, laughter, love and closure.
She also offers baby readings and can relay messages from anyone unable to fully communicate including: dementia, autism, or stroke. These intuitive conversations change lives when people and animals are heard, understood and valued. Their requests are often very simple, and they just need a kind, gifted messenger
As Shannon says "Animals and Spirits communicate in many creative ways beyond words." During her readings pets don’t need to be present. They can be eating, sleeping, in the bathtub or at a nightclub, the process is the same. It’s telepathic communication- a heart centered, intuitive intention and connection. In this weeks episode I sat in my studio, Second Sol Studios, with life coach Kelly Abanda. Kelly is an expert when it comes to changing your life because that is exactly what she has done. For years she worked in corporate America, "Checking All the Boxes" as she puts it. She held a high ranking office at a large company, and was working towards buying a house in L.A. which many people would consider an attribute of success. However Kelly realized she was not happy and did not feel fulfilled with the life she had created.
Kelly took a step back and re-defined what it meant to be successful, and decided to travel the world for 4 years in the pursuit of happiness and fulfillment. After deciding to return to America she now shares her insights with others, helping them to define what success means in their personal life, and actionable ways they can achieve those goals. Through workshops, online courses, 1:1 coaching, and group coaching she creates a safe space for perfectionists, overthinkers, and high achievers to get out of their own way in order to experience more fulfillment, joy, adventure and confidence. Learning Curves is back with a new episode perfect for any and all business owners locally and nationally.
This week I sat with Personal Injury Attorney Royce C Haddad Jr. of Haddad and Associates, a personal injury law firm in Clearwater Florida. Accidents happen everywhere all the time, but sometimes an incident is more than a mere accident, in which case the injured party deserves compensation. Situations like this are where Royce comes in. He helps fight for his clients to get them fair compensation when necessary whether it be an auto accident, a slip and fall, or something more serious like a wrongful death.
In the episode Royce breaks down the basics of personal injury law, liability, and ways you can protect your business in the off chance you find yourself in a slippery situation. We also cover specific laws that protect business owners from lawsuits in the state of Florida.

Welcome Back To Learning Curves!As many of you may know; my husband Chris is a Ft. Myers native. Last September, Ft. Myers and surrounding areas were devastated by Hurricane Ian, one of the largest hurricanes to hit Florida in the last century.
So many lives were effected by this storm with people losing their homes, businesses, and tragically, their lives. Chris and his family lost their family business, "Times Square"; home to a surf shop his Dad started, to the storm, and it has made the past year difficult. Shortly after the storm Chris became an advocate for the home-owners and business owners of Ft. Myers beach to help begin the process of re-building their legacy.
It's been a tough road but it is looking brighter each day for the people of Ft. Myers. The only part of the Times Square property to stay standing was the elevator shaft, which has become a symbol of the resilience and fighting spirit of the citizens of Ft. Myers. To commemorate "The Shaft" Chris decided to contact 2 local muralist who were also effected by the storm, Summer Desalvo & Lacy McClary, to see if they would be willing to paint a mural on the structure to brighten the spirits of the people of Ft. Myers.
The mural has now been painted and it looks absolutely gorgeous. This will stand as a testament to the strength of the locals and it will serve as a reminder of better days ahead.If you are interested in a Mural from Summer or Lacy, visit their respective website(s) below:

During the pandemic they did a lot to help the community by feeding the front-line workers who were battling the pandemic. They are a Safety Harbor staple combining good food, good times, and a 1920's atmosphere, which culminates to create an amazing experience.

I sat down with Keely Werly, the owner of 'The Traveling Tap", a local bar cart rental service that provides bar carts for parties & events. In the first half of the show we discuss her business journey, how she got started, as well as her new business which is launching this month, aptly named "Brûlée Ole".
Her new business will cater delicious Creme Brûlée to any party or event. In the second half of the show, Keely teaches us how to make Creme Brûlée easily and deliciously at home with her signature recipe. I will say, if you attempt to make this at home it will be very hard to top hers!

While he is originally from Connecticut, Don fell in love with Tampa while attending the University of Tampa. Currently Eldon and Terry are working on a community called Gracewater, which is one of the last master planned communities being built in Sarasota! Joey is a self-taught machinist with great passion for the work he does. His company builds, repairs, and consults on manufacturing machinery and custom machinery for local businesses. He is extremely knowledgeable in working on machines and in this episode he shares some of his best tips for success, which can be applied to any business.
Joey has a great story on how he got started in the machine world, and I think this is a great episode for anyone unsure of the direction their career is heading. We discuss the importance of persevering when dreams seem impossible, as well as the highs and lows of owning your own business.

I sat down with Nick Masset, the owner of Coast To Coast Barnwood. Coast To Coast is a Tampa based company that provides reclaimed barn wood from across the nation. The wood is sourced from historical barns and buildings and given a new lease on life as an interior or exterior decorating accent. They truly offer a great product at a great price point, we have their barn wood all throughout or studio and marketing firm!
Nick is also a former MLB professional pitcher! He was a major league player for more than 15 years, which is quite a long time for a pitcher. It was awesome getting to sit with Nick and hear about his business journey from baseball to barnwood, and learn about all the ups, downs, and in-betweens.

Adam Mangana has over 15 years of experience in the education technology space. He is currently working as the Executive Director for Optima Domi, the only virtual reality curriculum development company focused on building American Classical curriculum in the world. He is formally the Head of School at Benedict Day School in Sumrall, Mississippi. This is where Adam has built the only virtual reality lab in the Pine Belt and during the current pandemic he has pioneered immersive virtual education delivery through the use of the Engage platform in VR.
Adam and I discuss his new school concept and vision which is virtual reality school, a refreshing choice for online learning. On this podcast episode we discuss Optima Classical Academy, Florida’s first virtual reality school. Imagine walking with dinosaurs, building a city on Mars, and diving into an atom all during a school day. We discuss this brand new form of learning that will certainly get a lot of parents' attention as they look for alternatives to public and online education for their children this year.

There are a lot of reasons why things can rapidly change with a client it might be a new person is now in charge or it could be a major shift in the client's culture, it may be scary to part ways with larger clients in business, however, you never know if they could be holding you back from other opportunities...
