The Gift of Power was the last promise of our Lord and the first declaration of The Holy Spirit. Jesus, Our Lord, promised that the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit should be the all-prevailing source of power for us who believe.
We all have gone through such storms in life, and some are going through them right now. Just like sunshine is followed by immediate thunder and showers, problems may come to any one of us at any time. Today I want to give you some HOPE in the midst of The Storm!
Regardless of your past, regardless of where you are now, God knows your future. Jeremiah 1:5 is not just for Jeremiah, but for each of us.
God has a plan, a destiny for each of us. The problem comes when we choose our own path, allow others to influence our path, or in many cases, allow situations of life to determine our path. The reality is, God’s path for you has not changed, but you need too.
Maybe you feel like the door of your faith has been shut, locked, dead bolted, and you feel like you have no faith left.

A problem for a lot of people who call themselves Christians is there hasn’t been a lot of growth in their Christian life since conversion. The Apostle Paul gives us a great example of what each and every one of us must do at our conversion experience.

The four kinds of faith that we will discuss from the Bible are not binding and are changeable as we grow in our knowledge of the Word. These examples are written in the Word of God to show us that Jesus worked with people of different levels of faith, this should give each of us hope regardless of where we are at…..but we don’t want to stay there.

When we trust more in our own abilities than in the power of God we will not only “not please God”, but we will come to a place of destruction. We will be empty vessels trying to fill the void in our hearts that can only be satisfied by the precious love of God and faith that He is and will do what He says He will do.
Have you ever been so discouraged you did not know what was going on, then God reached down and stirred your heart, and encouraged you that it was going to be okay?
There is a lot that is said, and not all of it is true, about Love.
But Real Love……Perfect Love, comes from God alone!
Your relationship with God is largely determined by your faith. In order to go to Him you must believe that He exists and that He is exactly who His Word says He is. You must also believe that He will respond to you when you do go to Him.
One of the things I like about the Psalms is that they are so honest.
I don’t know about you, but when things go wrong, and even when things go right (not as often though), I want to know Why.
In order to EXPECT healing, You must have FAITH!

Say that with me….Jesus! So many people in society today just flippantly use that name with no understanding of the power and the promises behind that name. When you speak the name of Jesus in faith, understanding the authority behind that name, even demons flee.
To appropriate your healing, is to know that the Bible clearly teaches it is God‘s will to heal.As a believer, we must be thoroughly convinced by the Word of God that our healing is the will of God.
As we get ready for the next steps, and as we finish up Thanksgiving and get ready for Christmas and New Year, I want to encourage us all to take a look in the mirror, not one like you have in your bathroom, but one like I am preaching from, the Bible. Not just at how good you look on the outside, but really reflect on what is on the inside.
Victory In Jesus is a victorious Defeat of the Enemy through the Power and The Blood of Jesus Christ. This Thanksgiving lets be Thankful for the Victory we have In Jesus.

Much like the book of Job that we discussed last week, one of the biggest obstacles today in people receiving their healing is Paul’s thorn in the flesh.Sadly, many people have been robbed of the healing because they thought they have had a thorn in the flesh.

So many Christians struggle to find complete healing, because it is easier to find comfort in stories, like Paul’s thorn in the flesh and the story of Job.
What is the curse? Webster’s dictionary defines it as a prayer or invocation for harm or injury to come upon one. The Word of God is very clear regarding the curse.
The Jesus said in Matthew 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Jesus told His disciples and us, If you will put me First, If you know Who I Am, If you will establish your life upon Me, Not only will He give you power to prevail against hell but He will give you The Keys of The Kingdom. Three of these keys are The Key of Access, The Key of Authority, and today we will discuss The Key of Privilege.
When we speak of Origin of Healing, you need to understand that it is part of the Covenant of God. We often think of healing in terms of New Testament only because Jesus was incarnate in the New Testament, but Jesus was also in the Old Testament.
Everyone wants to know where they came from, where their family is from, and their genealogy. Today we will look at the Origin of sickness. God is good and everything He created is good; sickness is bad.
Matthew 6:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
What are the Keys of The Kingdom? The second Key of the Kingdom we want to Discuss is, Authority. As I mentioned last week, the first key, Access, allows one to “Get Into”, but once you are in you need to understand the Authority that goes with your entrance.
The anointing rests on those who believe. If I did not believe in the healing power of God, then God would not place his anointing on me.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Who will receive the Keys of The Kingdom? Those who faithfully declare the Gospel will be given The Keys of The Kingdom. The first Key we have been given is Access.
We are priests and heirs and if heirs, then princes and princesses and if we are prince and princesses then we have authority and power given to us not because of us but because of who our Father is.
The anointing is the power of God that came upon Jesus, and can come upon us. The anointing breaks those yokes and heals and delivers and equips us to teach, prophecy, etc.
The Kingdom is a priceless treasure that is to be valued and desired above all else. The Kingdom of God is not a place like the United States but rather the rule of God. When the Kingdom is proclaimed we see with it a call to repentance which is a call to submit the whole of our lives to the King of Kings.
The Kingdom of Heaven is the royal power and dignity conferred on Christians in the Messiah's kingdom. The Kingdom is a priceless treasure that is to be valued and desired above all else.
We have been discussing the importance of Hidden Treasures. Today we will look at reason 3, "To Keep It From Being Stolen."
Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. This week we talk about How to Locate The Treasure When You Need It.
A treasure, your treasure, is a valued item to be kept carefully. Do you value the Word of God?
We complete our series on Don't Give Satan the Satisfaction by discussing, "Knowing Your Victor." We need to know what door to open, and which door to keep closed.
We have discussed the need to know your enemy and know his schemes, but the greatest thing we need to know, is who is our Victor! Jesus has defeated the enemy and we are victorious in Him. Tune in for the first part of Knowing Your Victor.
The greatest enemy that has robbed the Christian is wrong thinking and wrong believing. This is what opens the door to the devil.
Wrong thinking and wrong believing eventually leads to wrong actions. We need to know what the Word of God says on any subject and think and believe and act in line with God’s Word.
I would like to spend some time discussing some things that I have noticed in the church body that really, I believe, are detrimental to us living the victorious life that Christ has intended for us to live. 2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
True Freedom is living as we should, according to the full Word of God, not as we please, according to our flesh

When the enemy raises his head, remember he is defeated and the father of lies. When storms and trials come, remember the promises of God and throw another log on the fire.
Jesus told His disciples to not depart until they received The Promise. That promise is still for us today.
Everything has a cost. Your salvation was paid by Jesus, but will you pay the cost to follow Him? So many people will not make Jesus Lord of their life because of the cost of comfort and convenience to the worlds standards.
Mother's Day is always a special day and this year we wanted to look at things the way mom's look at things, through the goggles of servanthood, grace, and love.
We have been discussing the need to Fan Into Flame the Gift of God. The church has grown dim, the fire has gone out, we have allowed the world to creep in and it is time for us to Fan Into Flame the fire of the Holy Spirit.
Many have become discouraged and allowed the Gift God to wane. It is time to reignite the flame. It is time to be the church that God empowered us to be.
It is time to Fan Into Flame the Gift of God.
Many in the church are like embers of a fire that once was. Either because of tragedies like Covid, illness, or death, or maybe just because of all the political redirect we are facing in this nation, your fire has grown dim, Paul told Timothy, For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. Are you ready to be a mighty fire for God again?
Follow through is important in sports, war, and especially in your spiritual life. We will learn from the Book of Joshua and his failures how we need to learn to follow through in our lives.

BUT …This small conjunction of the English language flows in and out of our conversations every day.
It means "on the contrary, except, or unless.” Instead of responding with a negative, let's turn our But into a positive!
But God!
As much as a physical heart transplant is a miracle from God, a spiritual heart transplant is even more miraculous. When we give our hearts to God, God gives us a new heart and that new heart gives us a new appreciation for life. We feel things we have never felt before, because we begin to feel as Christ feels.
On Sunday February 26 the Holy Spirit moved and gave Pastor Tim a Word for His church.......Immediatley!!
Our heart is much like a water well that can dry up with lack of use. Our hearts can dry if the living water of God does not flow through it regularly with time in His presence. What makes the heart dry is not the absence of God's Spirit, but lack of use. Why was David considered a man after God's heart in Acts 13:21-22?
R.A. Torrey lived from 1856-1928 and he wrote a book called “The Power of Prayer”
In this book, Torrey uses these 10 words to give the secret of the poverty and powerlessness of the average Christian.
Acclaimed 19th Century English Anglican Bishop, J.C. Ryle, wrote a book titled, A Call To Prayer.
In this book the first question Bishop Ryle asks is, “ Do you pray?“
When we pray, when we set time aside to fellowship with our Father in heaven and give thanks for all He has done, is doing, and what we know He will do, we are making sacrifice and these sacrifices become Prayer Deposits!
As we start 2023 with 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, let us understand what the Word of God says about Fasting. Many in the church are ignorant of what it truly means too Fast and Pray.
We come to the conclusion one of the most powerful letters written. I pray this teaching has been a blessing to you all.
Have you ever argued with other Christians about whether it is okay for Christians to smoke or drink alcohol? These and many other issues have traditionally been referred to as “disputable matters”, matters about which different sects of Christians disagree because scripture does not speak decisively about them.
Christians are to obey the law of the land, respect the civil authorities, and pay their taxes whether we agree with the authorities or not. If secular rulers violated their own authority, it is the duty of the Christian to testify to the truth, but only by using peaceful means.
So the question for Romans 12 through 16 is, how should those who have been justified by grace respond in thier every day lives?
Psalm 107:1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Romans chapter 10 ended with the sobering charge that Israel is a disobedient and obstinate people.Now we have God‘s sovereign choice of Israel on the one hand and Israel’s obstinance on the other. Will God give up on Israel? Will He find a way, despite their disobedience, to preserve and enact His purpose?
These are the questions Paul addresses in Romans chapter 11.
Paul points out that the responsibility is that of the church to spread the Word to everyone.
We have all experienced times when our hearts feel like they are breaking. Death of a loved one, tragedy with a family member, a divorce, or an accident that leaves a friend in a bad health position. Situations like these make our heart heavy and our spirits downcast. The apostle Paul was going through such a time.
Paul pictures God, the great Potter, as facing a seeming conflict of interest. On the one hand, He wishes to show His wrath and exhibit His power in punishing sin. But on the other hand, He desires to bear patiently with vessels of wrath prepared for destruction.
Paul presents a discussion that contains one of the most profound mysteries of the world; Israel must understand God is sovereign.
Romans chapter 9 is one of the key passages in the whole Bible on the sovereignty of God.
As Paul began in Romans 8 with "There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ," he finish's with why.....we are Super Victors in Him!
The greatest shame and suffering we may endure for Christ here on earth will be nothing compared to the joy of when He calls us up and publicly acknowledges us before the host of heaven.
We continue in our study of the book of Romans and pick up in chapter 8 verse 12. In this section the apostle Paul moves from instruction to exhortation, from what God has accomplished to the importance of our response. He outlines the needed response of all believers; obligation.
As we go into chapter 8, the subject of Holy Living continues. How is the Christian enabled to live a holy life? We must understand the great triumph of the Christian faith is total deliverance from condemnation.
We continue our expository teaching of the book of Romans. Last week we started chapter 7 and we will finish it up this week as we see that we all struggle with 3 natures and 4 laws. Hope you enjoy.
As we move on to chapter 7, the subject of chapter 6 is continued. The apostle Paul shows how by death the Christian is freed from the law.
Last week we started with Romans chapter 5:20 where Paul says “where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” The question asked is, does teaching the gospel, permit or even encourage sinful living? The answer was found in Romans 6:2, certainly not! But Paul does not stop there. As we discussed he will answer this question throughout Romans six centering around three key words: Know, Reckon, and Present. Last week we discuss Know, lets finish this week and see what Paul says.
Remember, Paul is writing a letter to a church he has not been to. However, Paul has traveled quite extensively preaching this same message, therefore he already knows the questions and objections that many will have.
Question: If the gospel teaches that man’s sin provides for an even greater display of God’s grace, then doesn’t it suggest that we should continue in sin, that grace may be all the more abundant?
The rest of chapter 5 serves as a bridge between the first part of the letter and the next three chapters. It is linked with the first part by picking up the subjects of condemnation through Adam and justification through Christ, and by showing that the work of Christ far outweighs in blessing what the work of Adam did in misery and loss.
The apostle Paul carries his case for justification forward another step by taking up the question: What are the Blessings of Justification in the believers life? He answers his own question as he details seven major blessings every believer possess.
Moving on in our expository teaching of Romans, we look at Abraham who is the father of all who are in faith, not just the Jews.
As we continue our expository on the book of Romans, we pick up in chapter 4 where the Apostle Paul asks the fifth question, Does the Gospel agree with the teachings of the Old Testament?
As we have discussed Paul is writing this letter to the church at Rome, a church, a body of believers, both Jew and Gentile. Chapter one he was addressing the whole congregation. Chapter two he begins to focus his attention more on just the Jews in that church. Now halfway through this chapter he begins to take another turn as he addresses the “whole” church. Even though his letter is addressed to the Church in Rome, Paul begins to speak in generalities of the entire body of Christ.
As we continue our journey through the book of Romans we now get into chapter 3.
Author, Gib Martin says, in the everydayness of life, we tend to forget the enormity of the universe. But in our forgetfulness we also forget the one who created it, whose power and glory are awesome. In a similar way, the Jews in the everydayness of their religion got caught up in the activity of religion, while the wonder, grace, and beauty of a relationship with God got pushed aside.
What motivates you? Everyone is motivated by something. Some people are motivated by money. Some people are motivated by affirmation.
Some people are motivated by completing certain tasks. While Some people are motivated by vacation, raises, or retirement. Does Competition or Opposition motivate you? Do you think about being off or what more you can get done?
What Motivated Jesus to be mocked, beaten, and crucified for humanity when many people in the world won’t live for Him or even acknowledge Him?
The Fathers Love! God’s Love Motivated Jesus, and it is His Love that should motivate everything we do.
In our expository teaching of the book of Romans, Paul now begins to bring correction to the Jewish believers for the hypocritical lifestyle they are living before the Gentile believers.
We continue our expository teaching of the book of Romans picking up in chapter two verse 7. We will look at the third and fourth principle of judgment for sin.
As we continue our expository study of the book of Romans, we move not only to chapter 2 but also a different group within the audience Paul is writing to.
We continue our expository teaching on the book of Romans and finish up chapter 1 today. Please pay attention to what Paul say to the Gentile believers in Rome and how it compares to our nation today.
We continue on our expository look at the book of Romans. This week we will look at how suppressing the truth of God leads to His wrath against mankind and nations.
As we continue our journey through the letter to the Romans, we will complete the Apostle Paul's introduction and begin to set up the purpose for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There is a Healthy Fear and an Unhealthy Fear. The fear of the Lord is to honor, esteem, value, respect, and reverence Him above anything or anyone else. When we fear Him we will tremble at His Word, which is to obey Him instantly. The fear of the Lord is obedience to His Word and ways.
Whatever things you ask…….Ask for the Baptism on the Holy Spirit and then Believe that you receive and you will have Him! He will help you know and pray the Promises of God He will help you increase your faith to Believe. He will help you to Forgive He will help you as you establish a Pattern of Prayer to be more proficient in prayer and when you don’t know what to pray………Pray in Tongues because the Holy Spirit knows what you have need of.
When prayer becomes a pattern, it becomes something so important to us that we will forget to do other things but not pray.
God’s love and grace is the power behind forgiveness, granting us supernatural power to forgive others, the power to overcome resentment, the power to redeem relationships and show God’s love to a hurting world.
Believing is Faith, and when we are praying in faith we are praying for what the promises of God are even though we can't see them or touch them, yet we still believe them.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. We need to know His Word, then have an understanding of His promises and desires for us so we can have confidence that, “Whatever we ask in His name He will give us."
Prayer is one of the most mentioned things in the Bible….392 times it says pray in the Bible. Prayer is one of the most talked about things in the church but one of the things least done.
God desires us to be people of prayer, and now more than anytime, we need to call upon God for our lives, our families, our community, our nation and this planet.
Last week we began to discuss Faith That Pleases God, This week lets look at the faith that makes Jesus Marvel.
Hebrews 11:6 tells us "Without Faith it is impossible to Please God." I don't know about you, but I want to know how to please God. Listen..
