HAPPY ALS AWARENESS MONTH!!!WE HAVE A SPECIAL GUEST!!

I mentioned in Episode 3 that my dad passed away from a disease called, ALS. Since then, advocating for ALS has become a passion of mine. I met Haley Grace through my advocacy journey and came across her TikTok page in 2020. In this episode, we talk about how watching a parent die of ALS is unbearable but how God got us through it, how God took what could have been the worst thing to happen to us into our passions, and what being a primary caregiver looks like. ALS is awful but God took the awful parts of ALS and turned them into a Blessing in Disguise.

I lost my dad when I was a freshman in high school. When he was sick, I never thought it would get better. I was angry with God. "God are you even listening to me?" was a question I prayed often. Have you ever been angry with God? Have you prayed prayers over and over and felt like God was not listening? Have you ever lost your best friend or someone you loved very much? It can be hard to move on from those dark moments. I unpack how we can be the joy and find the light in those situations. I talk about how losing my dad impacted my faith in Jesus, how the heartbreak of losing a parent never really goes away, and talks about my favorite memories with my dad. Even if you have never lost a parent, I truly do think you can gain something out of this episode. Whether that darkest moment is losing a parent, failing an exam, or financial debt- whatever it may be, God can get you through it. Enjoy and happy May!!!
