Tonight was our season 3 finale! I know (tears). So ended our successful season 3 with a fitness-inspired panel. What does fitness have to do with mental health? That’s exactly why we had the panel. Our panelists consisted of Jenny Perez, an Herbalife distributor & CrossFit athlete. Next, Dulcie Palmer, a personal trainer & instructor for well over a decade. Next, JC Santana, owner of IHP training center for 2 decades. Last but not least, Stephanie Perez, GM of Crunch Fitness. We addressed it all! We discussed the mental state of the fitness industry, fitness models, influencers, BBLs, depression, the pandemic, fitness hardships and yes the money! These were all necessary conversations as fitness is way beyond the aesthetics. Let’s listen.

In tonight’s Episode 74 we spoke with, Mental Health Therapist, Marsha Pierre. Along this road of mental health it’s important that we “do the work” on ourselves. Marsha shared some of that journey. She shared how even after achieving some of her top career goals that she wasn’t truly happy. Marsha shared how she found her purpose and duh deep into her healing journey. Since then Marsha has worked with numerous clients from individuals to couples. She sees the common conflicts, the addictions and the beliefs that plagued many relationships. There’s also a negative label attached to therapy as many couples don’t seek therapy until their relationship is “on the rocks”. This episode was both informative and therapeutic. Let’s listen.

For May our focus has been MENTAL HEALTH. In tonight’s Episode 73, we spoke with General Manager of Crunch Fitness in Pembroke Pines, Stephanie Perez. So yes we spoke Fitness. We also spoke about the unhealthy fads, the companies that prey on the desperation of people to gain profit, body images issues and how Fitness is much more than just physical. Steph opened up and shared personal stories from her past. (For my Empaths this one was a tear jerker). The personal stories though tough, we’re absolutely necessary. We just never know what our co-worker, gym partner or family member might be struggling with internally. In Episode 54 we kicked off a brand new year, a brand new season and a brand new year! Welcome to Season 3! Welcome to 2022! Welcome to January's theme: the DJs. To kick off the year right, we had 2 special guests both from I.C.E. Squad Entertainment, DJ Smoke Dogg & DJ Smoove. These brothers shared their start into the music and DJ business and how paying dues played a significant part to their appreciation for the art as well as their foundation. DJ Smoove reminded us of the 5 elements of Hip-Hop and how we participated in each element before eventually committing solely to DJing. DJ Smoke shared his early experiences setting up speakers for DJs he aspired to one day be compared to. DJ Smoke's career began in Miami while DJ Smoove started in New York. Both of these men come from different backgrounds, shared different experiences dating back to the 90s but both found themselves unified together as official in-house DJs for I.C.E. Squad Ent. Well well, there's so much to say about Episode 53. Panels are always entertaining on The BLAZETHELION Podcast. Tonight did not disappoint. We had a lineup of panelists consisting of 3 Models, a Stylist, MakeUp Artist & a Photographer. We spoke on an array of subjects from challenges in the Fashion Industry, the pros & cons of social media, dealing with Life's unexpected tests and their absolute favorite memories in the industry. Whether in front of the camera, behind the camera or holding the camera, there were 2 things everyone agreed on. We all agreed on the importance of having some sort of strong faith-based belief system and second, the panelists shared how important it was to listen. Some go for walks, some meditate, some read but all expressed the necessity of making time to be alone especially in a fast paced, highly visual, competitive industry. In episode 48 we were truly blessed by Empress Aizanah. How you may ask? I’ve always said Skilled with Humility is a superpower. This Empress is truly skilled especially with ital food. What is ital food? Ital is vegetarian or vegan food without the use of processed sodium, sugars, toxic oils. This may seem bland but it’s far from. Empress Aizanah cooks flavorful soups, Roti (Trini style), Macaroni Pie, Cakes, Cookies and even Raw Desserts. She even encouraged the host, Blaze, to try a raw vegan cheesecake recipe of hers. Blaze hasn’t had great luck making desserts but under the guidance of Empress Aizanah we’ll see how his turns out. She also has her specialty sauces and salads that are always in demand. Check out more of what Blaze & Empress Aizanah had to say about eating and being the best at this journey called Life.

Tonight's episode 46 featured our special guest widely known as “Big Lip”. Many have known him from major South Florida radio stations such as WEDR 99Jamz to WPOW Power96 to WHQT Hot105. He’s definitely an entrepreneur who’s made a name for himself. He’s also tapped into the vegan market after becoming vegan himself. He’s owner of The Krazy Vegan located in Hallandale, FL. They specialize in burgers, chicken sandwiches, tacos and their way popular Philly cheesesteaks. And yes ALL VEGAN! In this episode we spoke about facing your fears, taking the big risks and capitalizing on the right time. “Big Lip” gave examples why you should be careful what you ask for. Why? Well because you may just get exactly what you asked for and nothing more. Moral of the story, aim high. Go big! Even if you have to figure it out as you go along, don’t miss the opportunities that cross your path. This entire episode left me motivated (and hungry). We had the immense honor to kickoff October's "Doctor" theme withDr. Carolina Zakes. She specializes in Fertility, Oriental Herbs and Acupuncture. Wow right?! She had our attention from the start. It was joyous hearing the success women have had. There are so many women who want to conceive but haven't had any luck. Dr Zakes shared some of the misconceptions, misinformation and unfortunate mishaps she's experienced with her clients. Did you know certain foods, medications, procedures and environments could significantly lessen your changes of getting pregnant? The application of knowledge is power. With that said, Dr. Zakes's success rate is more than 80%. That's right more than 80% of her clients were able to conceive. Nowadays medicine can be controversial topic. Tonight marked our 40th Episode! For this episode we had the pleasure of talking with Estefani Nava. No she's not a school teacher and no she's not a home schooler. She's a single mom balancing a hectic work schedule, gym schedule and being a proud full-time mom of a 7 year old. I felt it was important to highlight someone like Estefani as I know so many moms (and dads) can relate. Many of us strive for balance between career and family and Estefani brought that balanced optimism to our podcast. Her immense love for her daughter was evident. She's endured some of the valleys and mountaintops of parenting and she's committed to breaking negative generational cycles to ensure her little queen has the best chances of winning. Don't take my word, listen for yourself.

Bess gave us the different options and types of Home Schooling from One-on-One learning to outdoor nature based classes to co-op parent-led groups to online learning as well. Education comes in many forms and Home Schooling has definitely evolved and become more common than it was a decade ago. We started off Episode 37 with the Entertainer himself, Daniel Bartley Jr. He's a singer, songwriter, musician, entrepreneur and award winning composer. He got his start from an early age in church as many singers have, under the wing of his father. He didn't stop there. He not only stuck with music, he excelled, performing at numerous venues. Daniel (or DBJ as he's known) has opened for top mainstream artists, owns his own production company and is currently working on a special project The Excellence Symphony Orchestra. During the interview DBJ even gave us a mini performance that left us speechless. She's toured internationally from North America to the Caribbean to Europe and beyond. She too got her start from an early age, performing and winning major contests at an age when most of us were coloring in coloring books. Episode 35 is truly special as it marks our return after a brief hiatus. It's the first episode under Season 2. So I had to find a guest who's energy would be impactful. Tonight's guest definitely did just that. Tsachai Maduro, known as "Sky" to friends and fans. She's been an actor for 2+ decades. We spoke about her beginning as a teen actor. Then we got into the evolution of Sky as she's now a seasoned actor and film director. Her experience spans from live stage plays to movies. One of the things that stood out was Sky's ethics and integrity. She's a woman who knows her purpose, knows her worth and knows the powerful impact of her decisions in accepting and even declining roles. We spoke perseverance, determination and she even gave us some acting tips we can practice anywhere. This month of August we'll highlight The Arts with each guest. Tsachai definitely set the bar. In tonight's episode, our 4th week under our Community theme, we had the pleasure of talking with Tamiko Chambers. She's definitely a change agent in various communities. Tonight we focused on THREE outlets or avenues of Tamiko's involvement. ONE is Starchild Social, her baby, her digital social media marketing company where she helps aspiring entrepreneurs and seasoned businesses elevate their professional online presence. Another (or TWO) is Kind Academy, where Tamiko teaches children an in-depth look at black history as well as exploring teamwork and love for our environment. THIRD is PeriodMiami where she helps organize and raise awareness about how to help women (or menstruators) in need of feminine hygiene supplies. As you can see, 3 different avenues but all 3 directly attached to our Community. We also touched on different aspects of Parenting and of course our weekly Color Time segment of the show. Between Episode 30 with Susan Kennedy and this week's Episode 32, it may feel like you're cutting onions. Yaima shared her experiences visiting juvenile detention centers, dealing with rebellious young teens and how each child has a real story.
