"When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."
Rev. Keith is joining by our own Fire Fighter Joe around the virtual campfire to discuss the nature of fire and what it tells us about the Holy Spirit. The band performs following the discussion.
The Centring Meditation from our Worship Service - February 13, 2022, led by Rev. Keith where we listen to our beating hearts. It is followed by a soft piano solo by Susan Lee.
Has the pandemic got you missing physical touch? Neuroscientists tell us this is a crisis for our physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The golden rule reminds us to love our neighbour as ourselves. This begins with nourishing our own bodies, and then, restored, allowing our love to expand to the world.

"Ah my friends, as 2021 morphs into 2022 I have been wondering what to write to you that may bring you hope and joy and peace, and the perspective that we are not alone. We are, after all, in the season of Christmas when these are gifts we embrace...."
The Meditation Rev. Keith led during the worship service on November 14, 2021. Open your heart to the mystery of life, let go of hurts and things that make you sad or may haunt you. Silently share with God your fears, your questions, your joys, and your dreams.
In this episode we get to know Rick and Carol. Rick and Carol are active members at Marshall and we asked them some random questions to learn more about them.

At this time, God is placing before Marshall Memorial United Church some exciting opportunities. Not only are we in the process of finding a new minister for our congregation, we are also re-imagining what God wants us to be as we move forward into the post-Covid world.
The Christian Development Committee is planning a day of prayer for our church on Sunday, June 13 th – a time for us to join our voices together to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in these important decisions.
As each of us is a part of the Body of Christ manifested at Marshall, we desire to listen for the voice of our Lord to discern what he would have us be and do as we seek to faithfully Walk in God’s Way and Serve in God’s World, at this time and in this place.
To prepare our hearts and minds, we invite everyone to pray each day, lifting Marshall up to God. We have written a prayer for you to follow (it takes about 3 minutes to pray) that can be incorporated into your regular morning and evening prayer practice. We have faith that by saturating this season of discernment with prayer we will be able to hear God’s will for our future.
A Christian Tradition of Passing the Peace of Christ. Enjoy a number of our members passing the peace. Followed by a performance of "Shines Right Through Me" performed by our band.

Sharon is the wife of the host Richard. She has been attending Marshall for about 14 years.
Rev. Kevin asks our own Richard Hamilton about being a real life Shepherd.
In the Marshall Memorial Worship Service on April 25, 2021, the scripture lesson focuses on Jesus statement in John 10 verse 11 - “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." The service includes a condensed version of this interview. Full Service on YouTube.

We are delighted to have Kenny Munshaw return to perform his composition "John 3:16" with our own Kerry Radigan. Kenny was our former Contemporary Band leader and good friend to Marshall Memorial.

Judy from our Christian Development Team reviews our first three weeks of Spiritual Practices we are taking for a test drive this Lenten Season.
Our theme for Lent this year is based on the book The Common Rule: Habits of Purpose for an Age of Distraction by Justin Whitmel Earley.
The Common Rule has 2 main goals:
- To wake us up to the idea that we already have default patterns of everyday habits that are forming enormous parts of our spiritual lives, primarily unconsciously, and
- To offer a path toward intentional spiritual formation that will enable us to more fully Walk in God’s Way and Serve in God’s World.

In recognition of Black History Month, we have been sharing stories and music to honour the contributions and struggles of peoples of African descent. This is a sample of what we have been doing.
We have three of our young people sharing the stories of Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, and Lincoln Alexander. We also share the history of U2 song "Pride (In the Name of Love)", which is also performed by our Band. And Frank and Erin perform "Jacob's Ladder", an African American spiritual.
This service we study Mark 1: 9-15. Rev. Kevin explores the theme of Jesus as our Hero for our first Sunday in Lent.

Rev. Kevin explores Mark 9:2-9 and the Transfiguration of Jesus.
Jesus is transformed into his heavenly self so as to have a conversation with two heavenly personalities. Moses and Elijah were great people while on earth and are great heavenly figures so they can bridge the gap between heaven and earth! We look over the shoulders of Peter, James and John and so are present also. What are some of the possibilities, within our lives, caused by seeing Jesus in a new way?

Mark 1:21-28 introduces us to the idea of spiritual authority. Authority is discerned by people, recognized by evil spirits and is of great benefit to humanity. Our response to Jesus’ spiritual authority is like the first people who hear Jesus: astonishment, then amazement, then we talk about Jesus with others: conversation. Astonishment, amazement, and conversation are ways that the good news of Jesus spreads through society.

"Guest" just seem right as John is a member of our Church Family, but John was our Guest Lay Worship Leader for our service back in April 23, 2017.
For his message that he titled "Really", John shared a touching story about a Cross he helped dedicate while on a Marshall Memorial Mission trip.

Richard gives an update on the activities of this committee, formed in early March in response to the COVID19 emergency. He shares the activities of the church in the weeks that followed the initial first wave of COVID and how the work of the church continues.
