I am back. Yes... After a summer hiatus, I am back with another Rockdown episode for your aural delight. I've got Country, Blues, Rock n Roll and a couple of curve balls (well, it wouldn't be Rockdown without a curve ball or two - would it!)
I am hoping to be back in a couple of weeks with another show... Maybe something to keep you entertained over the upcoming winter months.

You know what they say Wednesday comes but once a week and what happens on a Wednesday? That's right, a Rockdown Radio Production comes out. Sadly, this summer is excellent weather, I (Andy) have been traveling for work and, when not traveling, I have been on the golf course.
Neil is happily retired and rather than sitting at home all day doing the things that pensioners are supposed to do (like watch Bargain Hunt and Homes Under the Hammer), he too is super busy. BUT... You'll be pleased to hear he has taken some time out from being a busy chap and put together, for your aural pleasure another 60 minutes of the finest music out there. So, sit back, relax and listen to Windmill ROCKS!

I travelled to Tunbridge Wells this weekend for an Americana festival and the selection of songs are all by artists that featured at the event.
There is still an album of the week and only one of the tracks played wasn't by someone who performed.

I've been busy... Very busy and have failed to record an episode of Rockdown in recent weeks. I have been traveling with work and just generally not had much time. It usually takes about 4-6 hours to record and edit a show.

Producer's note: Work and life have finally returned to normal. As a result, the producer has been away with work (the work that pays the bills as opposed to this) in Sweden and in other parts of the UK. As a result, the producer was unable to produce Rockdown last week and he hopes to be back next week.
Sorry we're late... Been a busy few days. I've got older (I will tell you all about it) and Andy's been jetting off to Sweden. But, as a popular beer once said - Good things come to thiose who wait.

Hello Everybody and welcome to the first "Radio Edit" version of Rockdown on Rockdown Radio.
To this point, all shows have been released in Podcast Format only. However, this is the first show that I have tried to edit with a view to being played on a "live stream" on the internet. More information on this in the show and also in the coming weeks.
On to the content of this week's show, it starts off in the 80s (apologies for the deliberate and obvious mistake in the first part of the show - see if you spot it). We then have a number of tracks spanning 60s, 70s, 80s, 00s, 10 and 20s... Not sure if there is a 90s track.
There's a track from Norway this week and a number of bands (as usual) that you probably haven't heard of.

We pay tribute to 3 artists artists who are sadly no longer with us and the slow is split broadly into two sections. First up we have the girls playing and then, for the last part of the show, we go back in time.

There is an action packed show tonight with music from Tony Iommi, Black Country Communion and Guitar Shorty. As I was writing and editing the show it took some strange turns as I changed my mind about what should be in, what should be out and what I was actually trying to achieve.

I finish the year with part two of my look back at my favourite albums of 2021. Part one majored on rock and Prog albums, this show features the very best Southern Rock, Blues, and Americana/Folk records of the last 12 months and is simply stacked with top quality music. I also list in order my top 5 favourite five albums of the year and sign off 2021 with the best Christmas/New Year song ever written.

I just listened back to the show and it's a pretty good choice of music even if I do say so myself.
You'll be gutted to hear that I still have a bit of a cough and my voice does go a bit croaky at times but I made it to the end of the show.
This week there is music from Led Zeppelin and The Buddaheads. We also, of course, visit Sweden and a band that I saw (I think) well over 5 years ago supporting Buckcherry.
There are a couple of cover versions and a singer that I think bears a resemblance to Warner E Hodges in the way his vocal sounds.
Anyway, sit back, chill out and relax for an hour of fantastic rock n roll music. Neil will be here next week and I will be back in two weeks time.

As mentioned last week, I was too late hearing the sad news of Charlie Watts death to update the show to put an appropriate tribute in. As a result, this week's show features solely the music of the Rolling Stones.
There are cover versions, original album tracks and a couple of live performances. The show is an hour and a half long so you've got bonus time this week.
There are some details in the show about next week and future Rockdown instalments. I won't spoil the surprise here!

Hello Rockdowners, it's Wednesday again and time for this week's Rockdown.
I was extremely saddened to hear of the death of Charlie Watts last night and this may influence a future Rockdown but unfortunately, I was unable to react to put anything into this show... RIP Charlie Watts (1941 - 2021).
I've had a busy week. Been playing golf, working and trying to work out a way to interview somebody on Rockdown... I found a way and, although not brilliant, I'm pleased to say that Neil Tegg is on the show to talk about his new venture Windmill Rocks which will also be aired on Rockdown Radio.
Tonight I have music from Bad Touch and Soul Asylum (yes Soul Asylum of Runaway Train fame).
There's a bit of a Stadium Rock vibe at the beginning of the show but this subsides after a while.

Well hello and welcome to this week's Rockdown.
I didn't really know where I was going with the music choices this week as I started pulling the playlist together and as the recording of it went on, it became a little clearer and there were also a few last minute adjustments.
We've ended up with a seventies themed show really with 75% of the tracks being from roughly the seventies.
There are tracks this week from Lebanon, Switzerland and, of course, Sweden. There is music from Nick Lowe, The Wanton Bishops and David Migden and the Dirty Words.

What lovely weather we are having. I have been playing half decent golf and I need to go out and cut the grass. However, before I do that, it's time for me to publish this week's Rockdown.
There are some great tracks this week from Steve Conte, Robert Finley and the Counting Crows. The album of the week is from the Modfather himself and there's the obligatory trip to Sweden.

Hello and it's Wednesday again. That can mean just one thing. It's time for another Rockdown.
This week, I have gone for a summer festival vibe (a little bit) and some bands that you might have expected to see gracing outdoor stages up and down the country in a normal year.
There is music this week from the Sherlocks and the Snuts and, of course I pay a trip to Sweden.
I've got a confession. I have bought myself new software for mixing the show. It seems to be a bit quicker but I don't really know what I am doing so apologies if the output is a bit ropier than usual. I will get better.

Well... It's a little trip into the 1960s today. I've got tracks from the 60s some of which are by the original artists, others of which are not. Therefore, the songs span from the early 60s to the early 2010's.
We've gone from highs of 30 people listening a few weeks ago to a new low of just seven people listening to last week's show. However, I will persevere!
It's a bit of a hotchpotch of varying tracks and I hope you find some stuff here that you like. I'm pretty sure you won't be able to guess what is coming at any point.

Gosh, with a bank holiday weekend and various other things going on in my life, Wednesday seems to have come around bloody quickly this week.

Wednesday comes but once a week. But it doesn't half bring some good stuff with it. The working week is halfway through, the weekend is getting closer but, more importantly, Rockdown is back to rock your world.
Have I got a great show for you this week? Yes I have!
Music comes from the Wallflowers, Blessid Union of Souls and Counting Crows. Melodic rock comes from Sweden and the album of the week is somebody that I have featured before although the band is a new one.

Not sure of this week's genre I have described it as chilled out Rock with maybe a few Folk undertones. But, I am not a music scientist so it is mainly just music that I like.
Well, who'd a thunk it? I have now created 15 of these things in 2021. The listenership is dwindling and I have managed to bore a fair proportion of people to death but their does seem to be a hardcore of listeners that keep tuning in so thanks for sticking with me.

Welcome to this week's Rockdown.
It's an international theme tonight. Not a British or American band in sight. There is music from Slovakia, Italy, Indonesia and Australia to name a few. We cover every continent (if you ignore Antarctica) and there are some slightly different styles from Heavy Blues rock to Pop Rock.

It was International Women's Day last week on the 8 March. I failed to spot this last week in time for the release of Rockdown so, this week, I have caught up and got a show dedicated to the fantastic Ladies that have produced music in the last 5 years.
All songs were released on albums from 2017 onwards and we feature this week - Nita Strauss and Sophie Lloyd with some instrumentals, the album of the week comes from French rocker Laura Cox and we also have music from Clare Free.

The British Invasion
Hello there and welcome to this week's Rockdown. This week we have a British invasion yet again. I felt I was giving just a bit too much airtime to the Americans and Swedes so decided to concentrate on the Brits again for a week.
This week we jump between 1972/73 as well as songs from the past decade. There is also one track from the 80s.
We've got music from Redfern, Hutchinson and Ross as well as The Dust Coda. Our album of the week is from 1972 and includes a long song.
I played about with the settings of the audio this week with the intention of getting a better playback sound... Not being a sound engineer or, indeed, at all technically minded with this stuff, I hope the experiment works. I will leave you to judge!

Hello there and welcome to this week's Rockdown. Tonight, I take a look at some modern(ish) US Jam bands. If I was in the business of giving out prizes, I would ask you to count the number of times I say "Jam Bands" in this episode and give away bumper stickers to those that get it right. Sadly, I don't have the budget to stretch to bumper stickers yet.
