A film directed by John Krasinski, produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and John Krasinski, written by John Krasinski, based on the characters of Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, with music by Marco Beltrami, with the Polly Morgan cinematography, edited by Michael P. Shawver, starring Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy, John Krasinski and Djimon Hounsou. A Quiet Place Part II is a 2020 American horror film and the sequel to the 2018 film A Quiet Place, both of which follow a family that is forced to navigate and survive in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by blind monsters with an acute sense of hearing. The sequel was written and directed by John Krasinski under the studio Paramount Pictures. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe reprise their roles from the first film, and Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou joined the cast. Krasinski also returns from the first film in a small role, seen in flashback sequences set before the first film. Paramount Pictures began development of a sequel in April 2018 following the box-office success of the first film. By the following August, Krasinski was writing the film, and he was hired in February 2019 to direct. Production took place in Western New York from June to September 2019. Krasinski was credited with writing the sequel based on characters created by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck for the first film. The film had its world premiere in New York City on March 8, 2020, and after over a year of postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on May 28, 2021. It will then be available to stream on Paramount+ 45 days after its theatrical debut. It received positive reviews from critics, who praised Krasinski's screenplay and direction, the cinematography, sound design, emotional weight, and the performances of the cast (particularly Simmonds, Murphy, and Blunt's).
❍❍❍ Instant Access ❍❍❍ Film stocks are vanishing, but the iconic images of the silver screen remain -- albeit in new, sleeker formats. Today, viewers can instantly stream movies on televisions, computers, and smartphones. Gone are the days when films could only be seen in theaters or rented at video stores: movies are now accessible at the click of a button, and there are no reels, tapes, or discs to store. Any film or show worth keeping may be collected in the virtual cloud and accessed at will through services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Instant. The movies have changed, and we are changing with them. The ways we communicate, receive information, travel, and socialize have all been revolutionized. In Streaming, Wheeler Winston Dixon reveals the positive and negative consequences of the transition to digital formatting and distribution, exploring the ways in which digital cinema has altered contemporary filmmaking and our culture. Many industry professionals and audience members feel that the new format fundamentally alters the art, while others laud the liberation of the moving image from the "imperfect" medium of film, asserting that it is both inevitable and desirable. Dixon argues that the change is neither good nor bad; it's simply a fact. Hollywood has embraced digital production and distribution because it is easier, faster, and cheaper, but the displacement of older technology will not come without controversy. This groundbreaking book illuminates the challenges of preserving media in the digital age and explores what stands to be lost, from the rich hues of traditional film stocks to the classic movies that are not profitable enough to offer in streaming formats. Dixon also investigates the financial challenges of the new distribution model, the incorporation of new content such as webisodes, and the issue of ownership in an age when companies have the power to pull purchased items from consumer devices at their own discretion. Streaming touches on every aspect of the shift to digital production and distribution. It explains not only how the new technology is affecting movies, music, books, and games, but also how instant access is permanently changing the habits of viewers and influencing our culture.
❍❍❍ Streaming Media ❍❍❍ The technology of transmitting audio and video files in a continuous flow over a wired or wireless internet connection. What is streaming? Streaming refers to any media content – live or recorded – delivered to computers and mobile devices via the internet and played back in real time. Podcasts, webcasts, movies, TV shows and music videos are common forms of streaming content. Music, video and other types of media files are prearranged and transmitted in sequential packets of data so they can be streamed instantaneously. And unlike traditional downloads that are stored on your device, media files are automatically deleted once you play them. All you need to stream is a reliable and fast high speed internet connection, access or subscription to a streaming service or app, and a compatible device. See speed recommendations below. Live streaming is the broadcast of an event over the internet as it happens. Awards shows, sports, boxing matches, video games and special one-time events are the most popular types of live streaming with an ever-growing menu of topics. Social media platforms and others broadcast everything from celebrity events, promotions and lifestreaming to streaming between users. You can live stream on any compatible smartphone, tablet, TV, computer or gaming console with a relatively fast internet connection. There are a number of streaming devices available, each with their own unique features. Whether you want a hands-free option, ample internal storage, something affordable and/or 4K accessibility, there’s a streaming device for you. Search for reviews by reputable companies and consider alternate options such as a gaming console or a set-top box from your TV provider. If you have Fios, Fios TV One is a powerful all-in-one with voice remote and seamless Netflix integration to get to what you want to watch faster – including select shows in 4K quality Now that you know how to stream and the devices you’ll need – what type of content are you going to stream? Netflix, YouTube TV and several others are still some of the best and most popular streaming services with apps you can access on the go -- many of which you can stream through Fios TV One and the new Verizon 5G Home Internet that’s available in select cities. Even more exciting is the growing number of streaming apps joining the ranks that will offer a world of new content. Variety is definitely the future of streaming apps with something for everyone. Internet for streaming As mentioned, streaming requires a certain amount of speed for optimal performance. Many video streaming services offer minimum speed recommendations based on quality of content resolution. The higher the resolution like 4K, the more speed is needed for virtually flawless music and movie streaming. To maximize your entertainment experience and virtually eliminate lags and buffering, you’ll want the best internet for streaming. Fios fits the bill with speeds up to 940/880 Mbps with its Fios Gigabit Connection plan, while Verizon 5G Home Internet is spreading to select cities with speeds averaging around 300 Mbps. If you’re not ready for blistering speeds, Verizon High Speed Internet (DSL) is another option with speeds up to 15 Mbps, To see recommended speed guidelines.
