In this episode, I talk about the humbling experience of graduating college and entering the "real world." I discuss the struggles of finding a job and the importance of networking. Managing finances, including student loans and personal debt, becomes a new challenge. Graduating during a pandemic adds even more uncertainty to the mix. I share my experiences with adjusting to a new routine and discovering who I am outside of school. Building a social circle and coping with the unpredictability of post-grad life is a challenge. Balancing work and personal life, while also avoiding the comparison game, is something I am still learning to navigate.

On today's episode of the Nobody Asked Podcast, we're going to be talking about something that's become a big part of our lives - social media. Specifically, how it affects our relationships. It's true that social media has made it easier to communicate with distant family and friends, but it also makes it hard to unplug and take time for ourselves. We'll discuss how social media can make us feel like we have to respond to everything immediately and how it leads to social comparison. Seeing people's highlight reel can make us feel like their lives are perfect, even if that's not the reality. Plus, we'll dive into the topic of breakups - both in relationships and friendships - and how social media can add to the drama. Tune in to hear our take on how social media affects our relationships.

This episode is about finding balance in the chaos. I give an update on starting an antidepressant and talk about how my depression tends to worsen before my period. Despite the difficult past few months, I have gained a refreshed perspective on life and am learning to appreciate both the ups and downs. Attending a John Mayer concert was a bucket list moment that made me feel alive and grateful for everything I have accomplished. Overall, I'd rather feel everything - the good and the bad - than nothing at all.

EP: 14 " 2022 End of Year Review + 2023 Goals"

In this episode, I recap all of the emotions and transformative experiences I had in 2022. This year was the year I focused on finding myself and figuring out how to fall back in love with life. I am still learning to find peace in the stillness of life but also the chaos. With that being said it has still been absolutely euphoric to finally recognize myself again. I am super excitied to see where 2023 takes me and more importantly this podcast. This has been one of the most life changing things I have done this year and I know it will continue to help me grow so much next year.

In this episode, I discuss my experience with getting diagnosed with ADHD as an adult after years of struggling with mental health. I only recently learned how much untreated ADHD can effect your self esteem and self worth. I also wasn't aware that it could be the cause of anxiety and depression. Although some people continue to struggle with their anxiety and depression journey even after seeking ADHD treatment, I have been lucky enough to have a different experience. Ultimately I am sharing my experience because I felt so much more understood during my diagnostic journey, by having people to relate to. I realize social media is not true medical advice but hearing other people with similar symptoms and experiences was a huge aid for me while I was figuring things out with my doctor. I hope this episode helps if ADHD or mental health in general is something you are struggling with.

In this episode, I dive into the emotional topic that is college friendships. Realistically you will never get to be back in college living that close to all of your friends again. Trying to wrap your mind around that while also expecting to get a job and leave your new life behind is an INSANE amount to wrap your head around.

In the third episode of the "Listen To Your Body" series, I talk about the rollercoaster of feelings that comes with being a homebody in your 20s. I have never been able to relate to people my age that like to go out and drink which can be incredibly difficult. It is hard to face the feeling of "FOMO", especially in the world of social media. I am currently working on prioritizing my needs over the social norms that come with being in your 20s. When you're sitting at home on a Friday night clicking through snapchat stories, you need to remind yourself that social media is simply a highlight reel of the night. If you stay true to yourself and true to what you need, I promise you won't regret staying in when you want to. If you are drinking purely to "fit in" with everyone else you won't regret staying sober that night you didn't feel up to drink.

In the second episode of the "Listen To Your Body" series, I get raw and honest while talking about past toxic relationships. I wish more people talked about how physically draining and mentally damaging toxic relationships can be. No one teaches you to listen to your body and trust the physical symptoms it sends to warn you in a bad situation. I talk about how I let my past dating history physically damage me for months when I knew in my gut I needed to leave. I hope you are able to relate to this episode and I hope it helps in some way. No one deserves to beg for love from someone who should love them. At the end of the day, you have to have your own back and you have to protect yourself. You know your worth and you know what you deserve.

In the first episode of the "Listen To Your Body" series, I talk about my personal experience with the controversial topic of birth control. Like many women, I have had my fair share of ups and downs when it comes to things like IUDs and PCOS. I know how alone you can feel when struggling to find the right birth control for your body. My goal with this episode is to share my experience in hopes of making someone feel less alone. Birth Control and even more importantly the side effects should not be something we are embarrassed to talk about as a society. So many people are even too uncomfortable to talk with their partner about the things happening to their own bodies. This may be an unpopular opinion but if your partner can't listen to you and be a supporter through your birth control journey, they don't deserve any privileges that come with it. You can agree to disagree but that's just my hot take.

EP. 4 In this episode, Sam discusses the importance of setting boundaries with yourself before and during a relationship. She discusses the importance of talking to your partner and being able to express yourself. It is common for people to be afraid of rejection when speaking with their significant other. Ultimately, you must ask yourself "why do I want to be with someone who does not care about my feelings and thoughts?". If your partner rejects you, it is their loss! You do not need to fight for someone who isn't willing to fight for you!

EP 2. In this episode, Sam discusses how to prioritize your mental health and general well-being over social obligations. In your 20s, it is easy to forget how valuable self-care can be due to the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is a strong pressure to live in the moment and be young while you can, which makes it nearly impossible to decline social plans. In the end, only you are responsible for picking yourself up off the bathroom floor each night not the people in your life. How can you expect someone else to put you first if you can't put yourself first?
