God's wisdom, His word, always points us to God! Our faith and hope are in God (1 Pet 1:21). So, God tells His people about Him, knowledge of God puts our desires and the world around us into proper perspective (Isa 40:1-31).

Friends give us counsel, guidance, and comfort. God paid the price to be our friend when He gave His Son up for us. The wisdom from above warns us against the false friendship of the world, friendship that appeals to the desires of our flesh. God offers us friendship that satisfies and gives life to our souls. (Jas 4; Jn 15).
