The anti-hustle club: Recent Episodes

Lindsey Roberts

The anti-hustle club is about encouraging you to embrace a bit of anti-hustle into your everyday.

I should point out that I’m not 100% anti hustle - BUT I am keen to have conversations with people about the good, bad and the ugly that comes from chasing ‘the hustle culture’ many of us grew up with. If this podcast can inspire just one person to embrace an anti-hustle hour in their everyday life, then I think we’ll be onto a winner.

Everyone else might be running around like a headless chicken at work, but it doesn't mean that you have to. In this solo episode, I share ten ways to be less stressed at work. They're things that have helped me as I navigated a corporate environment for the last 12 years (wow I feel old just typing that!). But after my breakdown in 2019, it made me reevaluate things that I used to get stressed about at work and I thought it would be useful to talk you through those points in the hope that they might help you lovely lot listening to the podcast.

We had such a lovely conversation about how important it can be to embrace your creative side and just how much it can help your mental health!

Nina runs an awesome company called Recess Living, designed to help people 'create their calm'. We talked about her journey in the TV industry and how just over 12 months ago she went full time in her business.

I can't wait to see the business flourish as she embarks on the next chapter - which includes a supper club series.

This was SUCH an interesting episode I recorded with Emilie. We talked a lot about her experience with hustle as she started to pay off her debts and became part of the debt-free community. We delved into the importance of educating women about money and how this could help navigate some of the hustle pressure that generally we feel. Definitely could have talked for hours on this one! But we managed to keep it to just under 40 mins. ENJOY!

This was such great conversation with Alice about finding that work/life blend so many of us crave. As a business owner with six years under her belt helping hundreds, if not thousands of clients and students, it was great to hear her honest thoughts on hustle and how for good and bad reasons, it has played a part in her life.

Alice is a business and marketing strategist, helping business owners get clear on the big picture and put the strategy in place to get there, on their terms. If you want to connect with Alice, you can find her on Instagram or via her website.

Alice is launching a new product business - On Paper, the home of intentionally designed stationery for business owners and creatives! If you'd like more information, find out here.

This was an absolutely amazing podcast to record and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. An unedited podcast this time means you've got mistakes, pauses and a few tears too. Chatting to Jemma was a pleasure and we spoke about embracing the journey, getting perspective, how being miss independent isn't all it's cracked up to be and how important it is to look after ourselves in the best possible way.

Jemma is the Founder of Made Collective and Co-founder of Level Up and Light Up.

Jemma classifies herself as a visionary leader for women and a fail fast, fail often entrepreneur, which means, start with what you have and tweak on the go towards perfection.

For as long as Jemma can remember, she has always been obsessed with two things: the topic of human potential and becoming her own boss. She was curious to know what makes people happy, successful, and creatively fulfilled, and how they go about achieving this.

And after many years of self-discovery, following the journeys of successful entrepreneurs, educating herself and becoming a single mother to one, she finally started her own journey in entrepreneurship, leaving her 9 to 5 and truly understanding what it means to maximise her potential.

Jemma adopts positive optimism, growth being the ultimate goal and acting with imperfect knowledge and pivot on the way, in how she runs her business and lives her life.

She has a gutsy way of achieving both her personal and business goals and truly wants to create impact in other people’s worlds as much as her own, as she believes everyone can better themselves!
