Trauma and Laughs is a podcast that will cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from 90s movie & shows, to witchcraft, true crime and music. We are parents to Autistic and ADHD children. Amanda and River really want to shed light on hard topics with this podcast. We are sisters who live about 6000 miles away from each other (Melanie lives in California and Amanda lives in The Netherlands), but we keep contact every day and always have things to discuss and talk about. We decided this would be a fun and unique way to strengthen our bond as well as create comradery between ourselves and others who have similar experiences, from trauma to fun, laughing along the way!
Episode Notes: Welcome back, weirdos! Looking for another spooky episode to fill your weekend? well, we've got you covered!
Listen in as River tells you all about the pale pubescent black eyed hooligans that knock at doors all overs of the night, yep, you guessed it! Black Eyed Children.
After, Amanda goes over the urban legend of The Candyman and how it evolved.
After these stories, we each take turns reading out a few listener tales to end the episode!
We hope you enjoy the show!

Episode Notes: Welcome back, y'all! We are still settling down after a few chaotic months, but we wanted to talk about a few things that have been on our minds lately - toxic people and toxic relationships. Amanda shares her views on what could be seen as a toxic relationship and Melanie shares her experiences and personal dealings with cutting people out of her life. While this episode does not give you an exact play by play of how to end a toxic relationship, we do talk about the signs, what to look out for - and most importantly, making sure your mental health comes first and foremost. We hope that you all enjoy today's episode and if you ever need anyone to talk to, please send us a message!

Episode Notes: Hey y'all! Thank you again for having so much patience with us, we have hectic schedules and as we have talked about in previous episodes, Melanie is still figuring out her new medication schedule and Amanda has been very busy with her family. Times are rough and sometimes our productivity with the podcast gets put on hold, but don't worry, when we have the time we're here! Melanie is doing much better energy wise and is able to work more on personal projects, like this podcast! Your support and understanding is so important to us, we just wanted to state that before we get into today's Episode description.
So for today's episode we're playing a bit of catch up as well as talking about some controversial topics, like Life After Death, Seances, Haunted Dolls, and more! We lightly touch on the topics of Demons and Deities and our personal take on Religions. But as you know, we tend to bounce around a lot and forget what we even started to talk about ...in the first place (whoops Austism and ADHD much?)

Episode Notes: Hey y'all and welcome back! In today's Episode we start a new series. This series is something very close to Amanda and Melanie's hearts. As mothers who have experienced trauma with their own births, they felt incredibly honored that Victoria from @amamawithtrauma reached out to them to talk about her personal birth trauma story and boy is it an intense one.
This episode does contain topics that might be graphic for some individuals so listener discretion is advised.

Episode Notes: Hey y'all! Welcome back to Trauma and Laughs - in this episode Amanda and Melanie discuss the details of moving to the Netherlands, where Amanda still resides with her family.
While reminiscing some really beautiful moments, the sisters chat a bit about their personal trauma and issues they had before and after the move. They talk a bit about discrimination they endured as American's before moving and how its impacted them.
This episode also talks little about molestation, so if that's a subject you're not comfortable with, please skip this one.

Episode Notes: Hey y'all! Welcome back to Trauma and Laughs, where the trauma is exploitable and the laughs are unavoidable!
In our very very very first episode, we are talking about iconic 90s films. Melanie uses the term iconic more times than she cares to admit. Amanda gushes over Skeet Ulrich and Andrew Keegan and they both agree that 90s movies are simply the superior film days.
Listen as Amanda and Melanie discuss The Craft, Scream, Clueless, Adams Family, 10 Things I Hate About You and more in part 1 of the 90s movie series.
During this episode you might hear Melanie's daughter talking in the background and then she makes a mini appearance near the end of the episode. We apologize if this throws some of our listeners off. Typically the sisters try to record when there are no children are about, but since both are mothers that might happen on occasion, we hope you understand.

Episode Notes: Hey y'all, welcome back to Trauma and Laughs official introduction! In this Episode Amanda and Melanie share a little bit about why they started the podcast and what they want to cover in the podcast. Amanda emphasizes the want and need to create a space for people to feel like their trauma is heard and understood while working through the journey of mental health. While they definitely want to have fun, chit chatty episodes, this podcast really is geared toward self improvement and advocating those that need might need a platform and a voice to help raise awareness.
Amanda and Melanie adopt the word "traumarodery" as a way of expressing positivity with shared traumatic experiences bringing comradery within our community and hopefully we are able to help others feel safe and understood.
Trauma and Laughs hope that you enjoy our little introduction and that you stick around to laugh and learn with them!
Amanda and Melanie live 6000 miles away from each other, so we hope that any audio issues can be looked over until we can purchase better equipment and learn more about podcasting to improve the show. Thank you for your understanding <3
