The 1970s were an exciting time to grow up in. I caught the tail end of one of the best eras to be alive in America. Vast changes in technology in the 1980s and 90s quickly robbed us. All the new gadgets were supposed to save us time, but we see where that has led us.
There was a time when everything shut down. Stores, Television, and Radio stations all had a curfew. Media shut down, and in return, America typically went to bed. That one thing we desperately need is time to rest.
What the world needs is a curfew.

I bought a 1955 Bulova watch in a thrift store. I thought I was buying just something to look at because it didn't appear to work at first. But after a few days of wearing it and taking the time to adjust the time, it has kept just as reliable time as the others in my collection.
The two age groups that enemy attacks the most is the young and old. The middle age folks are busy raising families, while the far ends have more time on their hands.

I was determined not to let them out of my sight. This was my thought as I ran through the Dallas Fort Worth airport. Trying to make a connecting flight to Salt Lake City, Utah. Internet trolls are as common as fleas on a dog. Now, I have never been trolled on social media often because my nature is to leave people alone. I don't have a big impressive vocabulary and can't type that fast.
The other reason is that I care about people's feelings and hate a bully.

My all-time favorite story my Dad used to tell me was about his ill-fated water gun. As the story goes, he was given a water gun and was told not to shoot it in the house OR especially his mother. Well, that's the first thing he did, squirt his mother. Upon warning him repeatedly, my grandmother finally told him, if you spray me one more time, you'll never see that gun again. Well...
Let's just say the gun was taken and pitched into the attic of their house. Although tragic for a three-year-old boy, that event gave our family years of comic relief, and this may sound weird, helped us through many tough times.
I placed a water gun in the attic of my house and didn't say anything about it. One day my oldest son Jaxon asked about it, and I got to tell him the story.

My son, Jaxon got a new deer target for Christmas. He usually practices behind the house where the target is out of sight. Doors offer safety when locked. An open door gives us the feeling of being welcomed, invited, and accepted. There are a lot of spiritual references concerning doors and in the Church world, they are mentioned in much that we do. Oh, how we celebrate when those spiritual doors swing open. Situations we have prayed, sometimes years for, just seem to swing right on open and we walk right on through.
However, it has been my experience at times, that certain doors stay closed for a reason. It's not that God is deaf, it's just not our room behind that door. And to push, pull, pry, beg, scream and fight to get that door open and into that room, would be spiritual burglary.
I pray every day that God leads me to every door that safely secures whatever is in the rooms meant for me.

Have you ever seen an Artist ball up a piece of paper and throw it away with vigor and force? Or maybe a painter cut up a canvas or a potter swiftly throw clay off his wheel? If so, you are witnessing, what I call, "Artist Rage." It's when an artist can't get the medium, to perform the way it should.
I used to experience it all the time. I would throw sketches away, stomp canvases, and generally destroy pieces that I was unhappy with upon completion.
However, In my old age, I have since found the value in every dented canvas, bad brushstroke, and glitch in the system. I now value the mistakes and sometimes even though it really is messed up, I can find some beauty in it. There is beauty in the mess. It may time some time to see it and even more time to appreciate and learn from it, but the beauty is there regardless.

Several years ago, he started a Bible study in a tire shop and began preaching in local churches that were outside his Apostolic faith. During that time he was also youth leader at Pine Grove Pentecostal Church and head chaplain at a correctional facility.
