Penny and Charley Sloan (AKA Mawmaw and Pawpaw)
Come visit with a fun-loving couple who enjoy serving and entertaining! Charley and Penny (AKA Pawpaw and Mawmaw) are two “hip” grandparents looking to connect and share with others. They love learning from new acquaintances and exploring all sorts of unique ways to expand their relationships. Recently, Mawmaw and Pawpaw discovered a great new way to combine their passion for service with their drive to connect with folks – they drive Uber! As they help their riders get where they want to go, Mawmaw and Pawpaw take every opportunity to chat with these new friends about anything and everything – especially the truth of God’s love! (No pressure, but if you’re interested, Mawmaw and Pawpaw’s favorite topic is Jesus.) After hundreds of rides, and dozens of new adventures, they want to expand this growing community and stay connected. So, they’re starting a podcast!Join Mawmaw and Pawpaw as they tell stories about their experiences, provide counseling and inspiration, and share their insights about life. It’s like taking a private ride with some old-school folks you can relate to. They hope to build a community of people inspired to connect and learn from each other and serve one another in love!

Paul's last moments with the Ephesian church were spent praying to God and grieving because they knew they would probably not see one other again (Acts 20). Ephesians 3 is a glimpse into Paul's compassion for and calling to the Gentile people. God insisted that Ananais visit Paul in Damascus saying, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings to the people of Israel. I will show how much he must suffer for my name." (Act 9:15—16). Before Paul became a believer, he was a zealous persecutor of the early Christian church. In Acts 7:54–60, we read the account where Paul, known as Saul at the time, stood in the crowd, surrounded by the cloaks of the Jewish leaders. Lord, regardless of our own preferences or traditions, draw each of your followers together as a witness of Jesus to the entire world. Father, use your church to serve as the unifying body of people in our nation. Please wake up your church to spiritual revival, experiencing the manifest presence of God as a people. Lord Jesus, we ask you to turn the heart of our president, vice president, and both houses of Congress toward your Word and your ways. We ask you to inspire and lead the hearts of our political leaders to come together for the good of our nation. Holy Spirit, we ask you to place God’s armor upon each of our leaders, protecting them and their families in every way.....
Holy Spirit, make my life an answer to the high-priestly prayer of Jesus: “Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are” (John 17:11). Thank you, Father, for the privilege to collaborate with you on behalf of the gospel as you unite my prayer and my walk. We have often been prayerless in the face of crisis; forgive us. I have sadly, at times, only prayed while looking for others to fulfill my prayers; forgive me. Holy Spirit, I yield myself to your authority and purpose, for “there is no authority except that which God has established” (Romans 13:1). Come visit with a fun-loving couple who enjoy serving and entertaining! Charley and Penny (AKA Pawpaw and Mawmaw) are two “hip” grandparents looking to connect and share with others. They love learning from new acquaintances and exploring all sorts of unique ways to expand their relationships. Recently, Mawmaw and Pawpaw discovered a great new way to combine their passion for service with their drive to connect with folks – they drive Uber! As they help their riders get where they want to go, Mawmaw and Pawpaw take every opportunity to chat with these new friends about anything and everything – especially the truth of God’s love! (No pressure, but if you’re interested, Mawmaw and Pawpaw’s favorite topic is Jesus.) After hundreds of rides, and dozens of new adventures, they want to expand this growing community and stay connected. So, they’re starting a podcast!
