We return to our Practicing the Way teaching series and this week we are covering the practice of Solitude.

Jesus modelled the example to us of living on the extremes of solitude on the one hand and community on the other. However, we tend to live our lives in between the two in a place of personal pampering or polite proximity.
However, as Psalm 46v10 teaches us it is only when we settle our hearts that all the sediment in our lives sinks to the bottom and we can see clearly.
Let's make time to be still and shut out all the distraction and noise and meet with God.
Did you know that God blesses you in order that you might bless others? Do the choices we make determine how God will bless us? As this series draws to a close, Andrew brings us a message that seeks to examine the character of those to whom God passes the baton; looking primarily at Paul & Timothy and Joshua & Caleb. During his talk, Andrew also quotes from "Prayer, Praise & Promises: A Daily Walk Through The Psalms" by Warren W. Wiersbe.

As a church family, are we aligned with God's direction? "A shepherd boy come good" is one of the ways Adrian describes God's anointing of David - from shepherd to king. God saw things in David that no one else saw. So what is it that God see's in you and me, that He's calling each of us to walk in and be at divine peace with? Adrian is also joined by his grandson Simeon, who shares a heartfelt message from the Lord, for Fields Church.

If God has something for you, are you going to step forward or stay exactly where you are? How will you use the gifts that God has given you? Mark attempts to answer these questions through the lives of Elijah and Elisha, as found at the end of 1 Kings, and the beginning of 2 Kings, in the Old Testament.

Today's sermon from Josh talks about how God often meets us in the middle. In this time of transition for Fields Church as we say goodbye to Richard and Esther next Sunday and look back on how God has moved among us. We had visitors from the Beehive in Kenya and we had members share of their time in Kenya, where 70-80% of people go to church but need nurturing because they are young Christians, in training new life group leaders.

God has given us weapons to use to defeat the devil's lies and to control our thoughts but we need to know how to use them.

Andrew is continuing his mini-series on Christian faith back up by substantive evidence. How scientists today are disputing evolutionary theory recognising that cells are so complex that that they are written in a language or code in a specified order. John 1v1-4 talks about in the beginning was the Word and the Word gave life to everything that was created.
Part 2 of Andrew's series on what substantial evidence there is for our faith. This week he looks at the subject of faith vs science. Are they compatible?
How we as Christians are living in a world where things change degree by degree without us hardly noticing. Some words change their meaning over time and words we use today hardly feature in the bible at all. The Church is constantly being challenged by our culture and is often in retreat as a result. Specific words to think about: Love, tolerance, balance and faith.

Pastor Richard & Pastor Esther share a special message entitled Running the Race; where they speak about their journey of planting Fields Church, as well as what they believe God has told them about the future of the church - both for themselves and the church body as a whole - over the next six months and beyond.

In addition, the following prayer was shared for the future of Fields Church (based on Proverbs 3:5-6, a promise given to Richard and Esther when leaving South Africa, which they have stood on and believed all these years and continue to do so): "Thank you, Heavenly Father for Fields Church family, where we see your faithful promise to us as yes and amen! We continue to put our hope in You as You grow what You have started, joining our faith with pastor Richard and Pastor Esther in the promise You have given. We declare our trust in You Lord leaning not to our own understanding, seeking Your will and purpose in all that we do Knowing then that as we submit to You, You will make our paths straight!"

From the nativity story there are 2 different responses to a message from God. One from Zechariah and one from Mary. When God asks us to do something as part of his plan for our lives it is good to be obedient because we never know what he has in store for us on the other side of our "yes".
Psalm 8 starts and ends with the same phrase which shows us how magnificent God is and we are tempted to feel insignificant against the vastness of Him. But He says that we have value and He can use us when we recognise our worth through Jesus.
While it may seem like one of the strangest titles ever to exist for a church sermon, Mark brings us the story of Ehud from Judges 3:12-30; talking about all the ways in which God can use us, even when we don't feel like we have anything to offer.
If you're wondering why Mark begins by saying "don't worry", it's because his opening slide was presented before he started talking; with the sermon title encapsulated in the drawing of a toilet roll! Keep listening, and it will all make sense. Enjoy!
The second part in Andrew's series Roots not Shoots abouthow we react to what is happening in our lives reflects in our hearts. If ourlives are based on a series of lies, we will react badly. If they are based onthe truth of God's word, we will react well.

In Romans 1 v21-22 we discover that not giving thanks to God can be the root of everything bad that grows in our lives. In this message Andrew continues the theme of thankfulness by looking at what causes us to be ungrateful.
