Boondocking, Battery & Solar Power, Lifestyle Challenges, Positives... and my ice purchase math was not intended to be exact. I know every other day for a week at $3.00 does not = $14. I was making unrelated off the cuff comments. What you get for not using notes. ;)
Talking about Cooking with Dash Mini devices. Also Aluminess Galley boxes and deep cycle marine battery power for refrigeration.
This is a general van life discussion interview with an 8-year veteran nomad. Brenda talks about health struggles, what got her into van life, and a bit about Nomadland, the movie. When I first asked her for the interview, I did not know she had been involved in the movie, so it was a nice surprise to learn just before our discussion that she had some FOOD involvement in the movie. I found her to be inspiring and a wealth of good information. Enjoy!

I have returned after a one month break. This episode explores pantry bin inventory concerning cooking utensils, pots/pans, and other non-food necessities. I also share a bit about the Omnia Oven and a reading from an 1800's cookbook.
Show Notes:
The 1800's cookbook mentions a "gil" measurement. What is that?
In the U.S., a gill is equal to one-half cup or four fluid ounces, while in England a gill (known as an imperial gill) is equal to five fluid ounces. Information from Thrillist
Swedish Egg Coffee. Swedish egg coffee is a unique way of brewing coffee with an egg. According to legend, this recipe originated en route from Sweden to America in the late 1800s.Information from Spruce Eats

I apologise for the sound quality in the intro. If you can get past the intro, it does get better. This episode is about visiting Forestiere Underground Gardens where Baldasare Forestiere grew amazing fruit trees and vegetables and was self sustaining in all ways related to food. It is also about Casa De fruta, a marvellous little roadside fruit stand turned resort area in the Pacheco Pass region of California.
Memories related to food, and how certain foods can take you right to a place, a time, a feeling...

This is the welcome and introductory episode of th Van Life Pantry - Nomadic Pantry Podcast. It doesn't have any music, nor any bells and whistles. It is simple rather than flashy. It is a bit rough rather than polished. That's how I tend to roll. Future episodes maybe more polished, more flashy even (or not), but they are most likely to always be pretty basic and uncut. We are all on a journey, and I hope that you will enjoy yours as well as mine.
