Today's episode we catch up with Dave Spruill aka Black dave aka The Dark Blizzard! to discuss his connection to the sport of snowboarding. He was once a team rider for Air Walk and has worked for brands Red Bull, Oakley and being East Coast sales rep and team manager for Nitro Snowboards and a house music DJ, that spends more time at Kink bar in Mountain Creek South than on the hill, lol. We discuss the recent interest and support of diversity in Winter Sports and how he is connected to the Zebb Powell story.
We catch up with professional Snowboarder Zebb Powell to talk about his humble beginnings at Cataloochee Ski Area in North Carolina to winning X Games gold, and his aspirations to be active in helping bring winter sports to economically disadvantaged communities.
Today's episode is with Tim Mackenzie, a long time supporter of Hoods to Woods and Snowboarding industry sales rep for brands such as Airblaster, Oneball Jay and Ashbury Eyewear & Goggles. He is also a Snowboard historian, collector and has over 500 snowboards in that collection! We discuss how the industry can have an impact with being more inclusive to POC, and Black lives matter.
