Nigel is a business entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience, working in China, Australia, the UK and the USA. He talked about his business E-Agri and how they’re working towards changing packaging from an industry level by looking at different types of organic alternatives to plastics. Having lived in China, he also discussed some of the differences between Beijing and Australian shopping and recycling.
Rob Gell is an environmental geographer and founder and director of Re-Think Sustainability. He talked about moving towards a circular economy, how he believes that industry is already moving to make changes towards less plastic being supplied to individuals, and the changes he has made towards plastic reduction.
Erin and I discussed what she does, how she got to where she is and her ideal future. She also talked about how individual change is imperative for industry and government change, some programs that have been and need to be put into place, and the best way to start a zero-waste lifestyle.
Today I talk to Dr. Samantha Grover about how she’s been environmentally focused since her university days and how later, her love of composting took over. She talked about the project she is currently working on to make quicker and better composting, how she is currently using her recycling, some organic alternatives to plastic, how she works to cut down on her waste and how as a mum it would be difficult to start and maintain a perfect zero-waste lifestyle.
Matt works as an education officer for the Marine Mammal Foundation, today he discussed the hazards plastic poses to the marine environment, living organisms and trophic levels, and humans. He also talked about the importance of reducing plastics and the changes he has made himself.
