Today’s episode… is written by STEPHEN MCQUIGGAN, self-proclaiming he’s the original author of the bible; he vowed never to write again after the publishers removed the dinosaurs and the spectacular alien abduction ending from the final edit.

His other, lesser-known, novels are A Pig’s View of Heaven and Trip a Dwarf.

Today’s first story… is written by Eleazar Nolan. This is a tale that has been passed down through Eleazar’s family. I’m told that Eleazar has been hunting for where this story may have originated. It’s subtly similar to an old brother’s Grim tale ‘The Juniper Tree’. This version feels like a natural American folk mutation of that old European root: it shifts the bones of the story into Illinois soil, adds religious framing, and swaps the bird transformation for a chilling chant. Honestly, that’s folklore doing what it does best — adapting to place, faith, and fear. But unique enough to be something new. Wherever it did come from here it is now Written by Eleazar Nolan and told by Wilhelm… The Evil Stepmother.

Then Argentinean author David Clark takes us on a journey for A Retrieved Memory.

Special Presentation!

Written in 1820 by American author Washington Irving as part of a collection of 34 essays and short stories in a volume called 'The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon'. This is the a reading of the original story of Sleepy Hollow.

As this was written in 1820, what was considered proper in life back then deviates from what is considered by today's standards of proper. Keep in mind that this piece suffers from anachronism and as such is a historic look at the period.

Episode Notes:

There is reference to 'Chanticleer'. I myself had to look this up to figure out how to pronounce it or what it was. My research reveals it was a childrens character from a kids book of the time that was a very proud Rooster. It was as common to children then as the Cat in the Hat is today.
