Website Alan's Bio:I espouse that leadership is nothing more than influence - nothing more, nothing less. And don't we all influence someone, somewhere, somehow every day? YES, WE DO! That means that ALL of us are leaders. We are influencers of people. So the next thing we need to think about is how are we influencing people every day. Are we creating good ripples, bad ripples, or some of both? This is why I have become an author, to make more people aware of our responsibility as leaders, and as influencers of people.

My short story is that I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. I have been married to my amazing wife for a lot of years and we're both blessed to have three wonderful children (one son and two daughters).

Professionally I worked in the corporate world for thirty years working for a couple of big corporations and one family-owned business. The experiences were fantastic. I have experience in sales, sales management, operations, and general management. I have had P&L responsibility, I ran multiple offices spread out over five states and successfully helped develop a start-up division for my last employer.

After leaving the corporate world in 2012, I have been in the business consulting/ training space. It has been such a pleasure working with clients across the country helping them to develop their people personally and professionally. I have a passion for leadership and people development. My passion has led me to develop a leadership model called Responsible Leadership (one of my upcoming books). We are using the Responsible Leadership Model to help companies improve their culture, develop their people, improve cooperation and collaboration, and achieve higher levels of financial success.

It is such a blessing to be helping people wherever I can.

Bio: Diane Helbig
When I was a young girl, I didn’t have just a lemonade stand. I had a lemonade and candy business. In my early teens, I created a day camp for the neighborhood kids. My entrepreneurial spirit has been developing ever since. My family moved every year; sometimes across town and other times across the country.

I credit my ability, and interest in, meeting people with these experiences. After all, I was always in a position where I had to meet kids and make friends. My business career has always been in small business where I have enjoyed positions in leadership as well as sales. I have taken the lessons she learned from those experiences and added them to my consulting and training practice. As I watched business owners, department leaders, and sales professionals struggle to succeed I became highly motivated to do something about it. In late 2005 my father passed away. That was a turning point for me. I decided at that moment to venture off on my own and launch a consulting business. In addition to being driven to help business professionals overcome challenges, I wanted more time and flexibility with my young children.

My mission is to improve the world one small business at a time while raising spectacular humans who contribute to society. To that end, I have developed a number of content outlets where I can bring knowledge, tips, and information to small business owners, as well as business leaders, around the world. And, I could not be more proud of my now adult children, Aaron and Macey.

As president of Helbig Enterprises, I help businesses and organizations operate more constructively and profitably. I evaluate, encourage, and guide my clients. I am an international business and leadership development consultant, author, award-winning speaker, podcast host, and trainer.

I work with my clients to create, implement, and monitor individualized strategies that result in better communication, increased performance, and greater results. I serve as a trusted advisor and guide, helping my clients see the value in changing their behavior. My clients find themselves achieving incredible successes – many beyond what they had previously believed were possible. I bring over 20 years of small business management and sales experience to my consulting.

I believe that each business professional is an individual. They bring their own dreams, challenges, and beliefs with them to their role. This is why the strategies they create are specific to them. Business is business. And leadership is leadership. How each person approaches their growth is individual. No canned systems here! My work is uniquely developed for each client.

With my book, Succeed Without Selling, I take on the realities of selling. Sales as it has been taught throughout history is ineffective. Discovery is really the way toward success for small business owners and sales professionals.

Through my podcast, Accelerate Your Business Growth, I bring valuable, actionable information to my listeners. My book, Expert Insights includes details of ten of the most listened-to episodes of this podcast.

As a speaker and trainer, I merge energy and enthusiasm with rich content. My goal is to leave my audience with actionable steps as well as excitement.

How does someone take their missionary life into sales? Harry's background allowed him to quickly see commonalities between emotional intelligence and being a good salesperson. Bio: Harry Spaight

Harry Spaight is a highly sought-after Keynote Speaker, Author, and Coach. After spending several years in mission work, Harry took the principles he learned and applied them to a career in sales. Loving others, listening, and treating others the way you want to be treated, speaking with tact, persistence, patience, kindness, and more.

Harry transferred the skills he developed while working with and serving others over to the world of corporate sales. With very little business acumen, Harry applied the principles from the Good Book as to how to treat people. Those two thousand-year-old principles still proved to be practical. It was all about serving others. Harry believed that people would buy from him if he had a servant’s mindset. The principles worked. Harry eventually moved and was leading a team of sales professionals in downtown Washington DC, just a few blocks from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Would the principles work in such a competitive market as Washington DC? The answer is yes. The principles are timeless.

Now, after spending over twenty years as an Award-Winning Multi-million Dollar Sales Producer and Sales Leader in the extremely competitive arena of corporate sales, Harry knows firsthand how to be successful in sales and lead winning teams. While many sales leaders choose the cozy corner office, Harry preferred to be in the street, sleeves rolled up so to speak, with his team.

Harry is one who leads by example, knowing it is better to get in the trenches with his people than to bark commands at them. He spearheaded sales teams to achieve the amazing success that resulted in over a hundred million dollars in business. Harry has a “Serve Others First” mindset, which is largely due to having served for over a decade as a missionary.

Harry’s understanding of clients, sales professionals, and Sales Leaders in building trusting relationships gives people the confidence in putting his knowledge and experience into practice.

Harry is the author of Selling with Dignity. He is the co-host of a Top 20 podcast “Lead Sell Grow, The Human Experience”.

She has taken her years of learning from top executives and made it her mission to help other executives and business owners grow and succeed by providing executive-level support for all their administrative needs.

Although entrepreneurship came later in life for Angie, she is not a stranger to it. Her mom owned a flower shop while Angie was growing up. The biggest lesson she learned from her mom was: “always to take care of the customer.” Angie has taken that lesson seriously, recounting that “this business is my legacy.” The success Angie’s clients find by working with her is a lifetime of learning, listening, and knowing how to treat people right.

Angie and her team deliver with excellence true executive-level administrative, project management, and Human Resource support. For Angie, offering the level of support and service large corporations are accustomed to having, including small businesses and startups, is what she finds to be the most rewarding. Alleviating small business owners of the day-to-day administrative work so they can focus on their business’ main goals is the driving force behind A Squared Personal Consulting’s mission and motivation.

Outside of work, Angie enjoys spending time with her fiancee Shawn, family and friends, going to the beach as much as possible, and forever training her spoiled dog, Teddy, not to bite!

Andy develops leaders who deliver results at all organizational levels and helps people become more effective in their leadership roles. He does this from the perspective of someone who has been a leader at all levels, including CEO. He does not simply teach about leadership; rather he facilitates a multi-dimensional application and action program that helps leaders know themselves, know their people, and know their stuff.

Andy Foerster graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1981, spent seven years on active duty as a nuclear submarine officer, and thirty years in the private sector in several management and executive roles. Andy has a proven history of monetizing technological innovation by providing customers with high-return solutions. He has organized and operated highly successful businesses as a CEO, President, CTO, and General Manager by using Internet of Things (IoT)-related technologies in industries as diverse as lighting control, uninterruptible power systems, and digital signage.

In Andy’s many years of experience, he has found that successful organizations must have two things: 1) Engaged employees empowered by positive leaders, and 2) A business operating system that brings a disciplined – and continuously improved – way of execution. For Andy, “The Magic Is In The Middle,” where effective leaders inspire employees to overachieve in a consistent way.

Andy has a passion for teaching and mentoring; that is a big reason for his success in the business world. From helping junior officers qualify in submarines to mentoring new General Managers in his companies as they learned to develop a value proposition and execute a strategy, Andy has always practiced leading as a coach. He now does this in affiliation with Academy Leadership, a group of graduates of Annapolis and West Point who are retired business executives and current advisors of new leaders.

Andy was President and CEO of Piller Inc. and President of Masco Technical Innovations, and CTO of LSI Industries. He was the founder of Creative Energy Control LLC, which specialized in lighting control. He held GM and senior management positions at Square D (Schneider Electric) and Eaton.

Andy earned the BSEE at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, the MBA at Marymount University, and the MSEE at George Mason University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer. He is the father of four. He is an experienced BSA Scoutmaster and is active with the youth program at his church. Connect with Arielle:https://www.tranquilityrising.com/ Bio: Arielle SchmidtArielle Schmidt is the owner of Tranquility Rising in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is an ex-corrections officer turned holistic health practitioner providing SomaVeda® Thai Yoga Therapy with an added twist of Elemental Meridian Coaching. After years of working in a chronically stressful environment and living with trauma on a daily basis, she had the opportunity to take a month off and travel to India to restart her personal health and wellness journey, and to reconnect with herself. Her personal experience working as a corrections officer gave her a unique ability to understand and work with individuals (mostly women) who were looking for a deeper way to heal both physically and emotionally from their own trauma that traditional western therapies couldn’t help them with. Her passion is to teach people to recognize that their physical pain could be connected to emotional blocks that result in tension in the body. She is acutely aware that when we bring awareness to these emotional blocks, it can drastically release what we hold in our bodies. SomaVeda® Thai Yoga Therapy is a combination of yoga-assisted stretching, breath work, and acupressure to identify the blocks in the meridian channels. Arielle then takes the extra step to delve deeper by teaching the awareness of what the meridian channels mean to let clients take an active role in working outside of sessions.

In the start of 2020 with so many people being told to isolate themselves, Arielle provided a safe and tranquil space to allow clients to receive bodywork when other massage therapists were forced to close their doors. In a time when uncertainty was high, she made it her mission to allow others to feel empowered with how they wanted to support their health. Moving through the next two years, Arielle expanded Tranquility Rising’s studio space to incorporate other women holistic health practitioners to create a thriving community, all focused around client care and how clients choose to continue their healing journey.

Bio: Melissa KirkpatrickMelissa's love for learning and confidence in teaching inspired her to expand her horizons in ways she never imagined. Every decade, she has leveled up in business and her life.

At the age of thirty, she enrolled in college to fulfill a passion for becoming a teacher while working full time and raising a family.

In her forties, after leaving teaching to pursue an opportunity of owning and operating two public golf courses full time, she taught herself to play golf. She developed a passion for coordinating women's golf sessions, liking lessons on and off the course with a program called Find Your Own D.R.I.V.E.

Behind the scenes, though, the stress of owning a family-run business became too much, and she developed habits of addiction to alcohol, overeating, and spending. The need to numb out was her coping mechanism for success and uncertainty. Being called out about her actions and integrity, Melissa didn't recognize herself, and she wasn't living what she was teaching. The desire to overcome the struggle was real, and she found a coach to support her on the journey back to herself.

Now in her fifties, after selling the courses, she launched what she realized is her true calling — a culmination of all her personal and professional experiences — a Business & Life Coaching service. Melissa's journey of learning how to overcome obstacles and push for success allows her to step up as a leader and role model now boldly, teaching others to do the same. As a sought-after motivational and transformational Business & Life Coach, Melissa speaks to organizations, virtual summits, and podcasts and works with clients individually and in groups.

She thrives upon the success of those she works with and prides herself in helping them scale their business and life from the inside out, using techniques and modalities to develop a framework utilizing techniques to build a solid foundation by overcoming their past and building for the future. Her unique style of holding others accountable and motivated has led to clients reaching their full potential and income goals with confidence and pride.

Melissa has been published in several collaboration books and is the author of the impactful self-help book 5 Steps to Your Own D.R.I.V.E. For two consecutive years, Melissa received the award for Life Coach BEST IN CHIC - Reader's Choice 2021 and 2022. Now in her third year, she writes a weekly column of motivation and inspiration for The Chic Guide Cincinnati, a lifestyle publication for women in Greater Cincinnati.

Melissa is married to her high school sweetheart and has two adult sons, a granddaughter, and a grandson coming soon.

Bio: Alex BowdenFounder/CEO Alex Bowden started her career as a professional dancer after graduating with her Bachelor's from The Ohio State University. After some time, she required a career change and found herself struggling to identify who she could be as a professional. Upon getting into HR, she realized that she had found a new passion: working with businesses and people on their holistic talent equation. She leverages her big picture, forward-thinking vision with her individualized and strategic approach to help her clients achieve incredible results.

Alex had an extensive history of hiring and managing personnel throughout her work with various non-profit organizations across the East Coast. While working and dancing in NYC, she oversaw the hiring and management of arts educators that were matched with public school programs all over the city. Later, she worked for a prominent marketing operations firm in Cincinnati, and she quickly grew their internal talent team, optimized their processes for efficiency, and developed their DEI programs. This included building two Employee Resource/Affinity Groups to help develop and retain the diverse talent she was bringing in the door. Alex worked closely with C-Suite and leaders at all levels to be more strategic in their hiring decisions, build out a robust candidate experience and employer brand, think through strategic planning on their growing teams, and eliminate immense, wasted costs in turnover. The result was an elite hiring experience and an internal culture shift that significantly reduced time to fill, and increased retention, as well as employee satisfaction and development. She decided to start her own business, PEOPLEfirst Talent & Retention consulting, allowing her more time with her young family and focusing on the elements of HR that she's most passionate about: changing the way people hire and retain top talent.

She’s also a best-selling co-author of the book Talent Fusion, where she talks about the importance of a comprehensive onboarding process for faster integration and greater retention. Lastly, she’s the Career Coach at the School of Business at Northern Kentucky University, where she certifies emerging Juniors and Seniors in identifying their unique talents and passions and how to build a dream career one step at a time.

Alex has recently merged her business with Melanie Booher of MB Consulting Solutions and William Kruer of PMA Talent. She is thrilled to have a talented team of experts helping her change the world one company at a time. She currently lives in Cincinnati, OH with her husband, two children, and dog. They still run a part-time salsa dance school where they share their passion for dancing and Latin culture.

Bio: Lyn HogrefeLyn Hogrefe, MS Ed, is the founder and executive director of the Happy Hormone Cottage, which she started thirteen years ago in the heart of Centerville, OH. This establishment functions as a safe haven for women to share their stories, be heard, and feel validated. Through her own journey with an emergency radical hysterectomy at the age of 49, she recognized the huge gap between what our doctors and standard of care were telling us about hormone balance and the truth about the needs of our body and the important tasks of our hormones.

With the help of her compounding pharmacist husband, she fought her way back to wellness. Her experience inspired her to open the Happy Hormone Cottage. The HHC exists to educate women on their options for natural hormone balance, prevention of disease, and wellness throughout life.

The second edition of her book Own Your Journey…to Natural Hormone Balance was published in 2016, solidifying her as a Warrior for Women’s Wellness. In 2016, she also co-wrote the award-winning book Success Powered by Relationships with twenty other area women. At about the same time, Lyn began her “Lyn Hogrefe Women’s Health Initiatives Foundation,” supporting New Hope for Cancer, where 100% of proceeds raised goes directly to New Hope for Cancer.

In the summer of 2020, with so many women worried about their health, Lyn had to find a virtual platform to meet the demands of all the women who wanted more information on natural hormone balance. She created free Zoom sessions called “Hormones 101 with Lyn” where small groups of women came together in a safe space to ask questions, share their concerns, and - most importantly - to connect with other women struggling with similar hormone imbalance issues all related to aging. The Zoom sessions have proven to be very popular as women continue to be heard and validated; these sessions promote education and empowerment for their best health naturally.

Lyn has been recognized in Dayton as a WIBN Top 25 Women to Watch, in Cincinnati as CincyChic Woman of the Year, and an Athena Award Finalist. Most recently, she was selected by the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance as a Woman of Excellence.

Lyn’s passion is helping women understand the truth about their bodies, and to learn the most natural options for aging gracefully and healthfully, with a focus on preventing disease.

Today, Lyn has two Happy Hormone Cottages and an Integrative Hormone Center (IHC) & Pharmacy in Centerville, Ohio, that contains a state-of-the-art compounding lab, the IHC for Men Center, and their own HHC line of pharmaceutical-grade supplements.

What entrepreneurial superpower is often stronger than creativity and generally overlooked? Bio: LACY J. STARLING

Entrepreneur, Consultant, Educator

The daughter of a truck driver and a part-time librarian, Lacy Starling grew up on a farm in Northeast Ohio. In addition to working the swing shift driving a truck, her dad also worked in the construction industry. Both of her parents also worked on the family farm. It was that work ethic that drove Lacy to want more than small-town life, and for her, a career as a newspaper reporter was the way to accomplish that. The world had different plans, however. As she was getting ready to graduate from college, the entire scope of print journalism was turned upside-down by the advent of the Internet and the subsequent slashing of editorial staff nationwide. Even with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude, and being named one of Scripps Top Ten journalism students in the country, she knew it would be a long road to find permanent, gainful employment at a newspaper.

Luckily, in her senior year at Kent State University, Lacy started a media marketing and web design company with two other students and discovered a talent for business management as well as a love of sales. She was so invigorated by entrepreneurship that she decided to go back to school and pursue her MBA to gain more credibility in the business world. While attending graduate school, Lacy had several marketing and management positions in Canton, Ohio; in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. In 2007, she moved to Cincinnati and began her sales career in earnest, working in Development for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.

Fundraising (while rewarding) wasn’t exactly what she had in mind when she set out to conquer the business world. In 2009, Lacy was able to combine her knowledge of freight, gleaned from years of watching her dad earn a living driving tanker trucks, with her beliefs about how company culture should be formed and nurtured, by founding Legion Logistics in the basement of her house. She fearlessly led the company to incredible success, including several appearances on the Inc. 500/5000 list and two appearances on the list of Top 10 Fastest-Growing Women-Led Companies in the world. Individually, she was honored as a 2015 “Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year” and included in the 2015 “Class of the Business Courier’s Forty Under 40.”

After years of helping entrepreneurs and business owners sort out their business plans and establish strategies for growth, she decided to formalize her work and build out a consulting practice. In 2019, Lacy opened her Sales and Strategy consulting firm, Starling Consulting. Her goal is to help other businesses find the same success she did, navigating the choppy waters of funding, growth, scale, and longevity.

After turning 40 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lacy decided that she needed a new direction in her life. She sold her stake in Legion in September 2021 and left her position as President. One month later, she became the founding President and CEO of LINK Media, a news organization covering the Northern Kentuc

Bio:
Kimberlee Vollbrecht, President of V2 Strategies, has built a name as the Pipeline Plumber. Just like the plumbing in your house, your sales pipeline needs periodic maintenance – and the occasional upgrade – to keep running smoothly.

Her philosophy is simple: If it doesn’t work for you … it doesn’t work. Her pipeline solutions are based on each company’s unique customer insights, fit their sales and marketing process, and support longer-term goals and objectives. They’ve helped an independent caterer double sales from her email newsletter, an IT services firm set up a customer-intelligence system to support inside sales, and a coaching enterprise automate the prospect-to-satisfied-client journey.

When she’s not providing clients with success solutions, Kim loves time spent with her family and friends, nature walks with her rescue pup Roxie, and activities that center on solving mysteries or putting puzzle pieces together. As a child, she’d start jigsaw puzzles from the inside out, creating a picture from individual pieces that naturally fit together. That ability to see connections first, and then assemble the picture, has helped her successfully build coalitions, shift opinions, and drive sales throughout her career.

Bio:
From the moment he sprung from the womb, Rick Girard has been a pain in the ass.

He can’t help it. The guy is a born rebel.

In school, he challenged his teachers when he thought they were shallow. He questioned his coaches when he thought they were making bad calls. He even grilled his friends when he saw them doing things he regarded as not so smart choices.

Why? Was it because he wanted to be helpful? Because he cared just that much? Nope. It was because, more than anything, Rick liked—and still likes—to win. And, like George Costanza on Seinfeld, he’s figured out that the way to win, which almost always turns out to be the opposite of what everyone else is doing.

That’s why he developed his proven system for hiring—and gave the start-up world a much-needed kick in the ass.

Rick didn’t grow up dreaming of changing the game in recruiting…or business of any kind. His dream was to be a Playboy photographer (don’t judge!) until he decided that as much as he loved creating art, he liked eating and having a roof over his head even more. So he took a job in recruiting, and even though he phoned it in, he wound up making a lot of money. However, when a friend derisively referred to him as a “resume-slinging cowboy,” Rick knew. It was time to up his game…by changing everything he was doing.

He studied many approaches to recruiting, ultimately perfecting the process into a single system that is both seamless and highly-successful in achieving the right results. The result is the Hire Operating System (Hire OS), a secret weapon that focuses on hiring consciously that consistently attracts the best people. As the founder and CEO of Stride Search, Rick used (and still uses) this system to build top-performing teams for Silicon Valley start-ups and other cutting-edge companies. His mission has been to give committed start-ups the clarity, power and system to make hiring a win, every time. And somehow, he has turned his unsettling impulses, unruly nature into success for hundreds of clients.

In case you were wondering, those clients aren’t the only people who get to enjoy Rick’s unique take on the world. His value driven nature, insights and systems are enjoyed by audiences every week on the Hire Power Radio Show & Podcast. In his spare time, he competes in a laundry-list of alpha-male activities, from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to surfing to rock climbing to running with scissors.

Rick has a wife, a child and a dog, who all put up with him for some unknown reason.

Alex’s Bio

Founder/CEO Alex Bowden started her career as a professional dancer after graduating with her Bachelor's from The Ohio State University. After some time, she required a career change and found herself struggling to identify what to do as a profession. Upon getting into HR she realized that she had found a new passion: working with businesses and people on their holistic talent equation. She leverages her big picture, forward-thinking vision with her individualized and strategic approach to help her clients achieve incredible results.

Alex had an extensive history of hiring and managing personnel throughout her work with various non profit organizations across the East Coast. While working and dancing in NYC she oversaw the hiring and management of arts educators that were matched with public school programs all over the city. Upon working for a prominent marketing operations firm in Cincinnati, she quickly grew their internal talent team, optimized their processes for efficiency, and developed their DEI programs. This included building 2 Employee Resource/Affinity Groups to help develop and retain the diverse talent she was bringing in the door. She decided to start her own business, PEOPLEfirst Talent & Retention consulting, allowing her more time with her young son and focusing on the elements of HR that she's most passionate about: changing the way people hire and retain top talent.

PEOPLEfirst is Alex's passion for helping others come to life. Finding, hiring, and retaining world class talent can feel overwhelming. PEOPLEfirst partners with leaders or internal HR to identify the root causes of hiring and retention issues, and then to develop and implement strategic plans to drive success. They don't simply hand you a strategic plan and a hefty bill... the team genuinely integrates with your business and partners with you throughout each step of the process, managing the details and ensuring results.

PEOPLEfirst is the one-stop-shop for all your talent and culture needs. They help their clients gain the power to achieve immediate results at the fraction of the cost, and they do it all with a smile. Why? Because they’re passionate about PEOPLE.
