Upload complete - Did you decode this week's episode? It was…Technology! 💻

Something that has changed the world FOREVER that cuspers have a unique perspective on. Growing up alongside some of the most well-known ingrained tech of 2020 was unpredictable at times.

Between 1995-2005 not only did the millennium change (hence millennials! 🤯) but the boom in technology changed businesses, education systems, governments, and society as a whole. We want to discuss how computers 🖥, phones 📞 , automation systems 👩‍🔧, algorithms 📊 and more shape who we are. Not only over these past few decades but centuries.

We are digital natives. That is both a name of fear and honor

As we said, this is a new world, you ready?

This week, we discuss the language of the cuspers: Slang. It's cool, hip, and ever-changing.

Originally called “poor speak”, slang has now become part of our everyday speech. It’s even gotten to the point where slang can be found in official dictionaries (we’re looking at you Merriam Webster). Each generation and decade has its own unique set of terms and phrases that they popularized. Some are even used to this very day, in fact, we found that often slang terms get replaced with new ones or even get recycled.

Besides sharing our favorite terms and phrases, we test each other on our slang knowledge, and boy is it a doozy!

So fam, if you can't even with this ep, roast us but if you thought this episode was cool beans, let us know your favorite slang term/phrase on our socials IG: @discussthecusp & Twitter: @cuspdiscuss

Alright, that’s it - we’ll see ourselves out while you check out our latest episode.

Sending positive vibes to everyone this Friday✨. In this episode of the podcast we are discussing a very important and personal topic to us: Mental Health.

⚠️Disclaimer We are NOT professionals, and mental health is a complex + unique issue for everyone. Check out our IG: @discussthecusp for mental health resources.

Millennials and Gen Zer’s are known as the “Therapy” and “Anxious” generations for good reason🥴. Students are own age constantly say they are dealing with stress and don’t know how to cope. More and more are being diagnosed with mental health problems, BUT more and more are being open about it - breaking the stigma that used to be so prevalent. Therapy is becoming common, screenings are up and we couldn’t feel more bittersweet about it.   We want to discuss this label on the generation, the pros, and cons of having a mental health disorder, our own personal advice, and more. More specifically on two of the most prevalent and “trendy” disorders: Anxiety + Depression.

This week we're discussing movie franchises. Three decades of franchises have shaped our generation. Whether it be Lord of the Rings or Toy Story we want to discuss what it was like growing up with these movies.

We also discuss what the movie industry is up to these days. Some say it’s an industry on its last legs while others are still unsure. What genres keep people coming back for that movie theater popcorn experience. Now, sit back, relax and enjoy the episode.

Do you have a favorite franchise? Let us know!

Today we are discussing the long-standing reputation of millennials killing every industry they touch. From diamonds to cereal, Millennials have had bandwagon hatred thrown their way. But is it truly the generation's fault? Maybe it’s just how life goes and changes.

What about Gen-Z? Did they follow suit with the economy? Listen to find out!

We wanted to talk about a subject that is very important and impactful to us. Older Gen-Z is about to graduate and younger Gen-Z will soon start to think about it. Millennials have given such great insight on what to do - and not do - and we want to discuss it all. We discuss the high points of college like great professors and Greek life. But we also discuss the low points including the obvious ones - debt and regret. There is so much involved in deciding to go to college, what to do while in college, and how to manage life post-graduation.

We are about to leave the college world and enter the official adult one. We wanted to make sure that journey was pinpointed here to reflect on as we grow older.

Hope you enjoy! - Give it a listen for all our advice.

Welcome to Discuss the Cusp! A podcast about Millennials & Gen Zers hosted by two 2000s cuspers.

So what is a cusper? Well, a cusper is a person born near the end of one generation and the beginning of another. Our podcast is the "bridge" between the two generations. We have a wide range of topics lined up and we'll discuss them from the viewpoint of Millennials and Gen Zers.

We're keeping it light and fun on our very first episode by taking a few "What Generation Are We?" quizzes. By the end of this episode, we'll find out once and for all if we're Millennials, Gen Zers, or just cuspers. (You'll probably be shocked by the results), so stay tuned!
