As a HP, often the pressures of work both mentally and physically can be overwhelming. Most of the times, you cannot and would not want to share these with your loved ones or even friends. There are topics and issues that people want clarity on but often are just too difficult to talk about. AHPAS in collaboration with GP Clarity will bring these issues out, for discussion and consultation amongst peers, so that we can all maintain a healthy, happy and productive work life balance.
This week we speak to Dr. Tim Turk, AHPAS's newly appointed Director for IMG HPs talks to us about his journey migrating to Australia as a Healthcare Professional. Dr. Simon Menelaws is a dad, partner, average tennis player, CrossFit enthusiast, writer, coach, medical advisor, and doctor. His career has been winding and atypical as he navigated emigrating to Australia, being a dad to young children, his wife's diagnosis with breast cancer, and her eventual death in 2021. Simon's passionate about figuring out how we live fully and authentically whilst working in the complexity of a fragmented healthcare system, and managing that whilst still bringing our whole, true selves to work - even when life is hard.'
