From the hosts of Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs, this is an exploration of TV's missteps, blunders, and hidden gems.
Next episode: Water Hazard, Episode 12 on Tubi. Dave misunderstands a fundamental element of the protest bucket.
The population of Perfection should be 90% EMTs. Next episode is Graboid Rights, Episode 9 on Tubi.
Which of you is the Scully and which is the Mulder in your relationship? The next episode we're watching is episode 5, Flora and Fauna.
Dave goofed up talking about Captain Ron, and everyone else goofed up thinking shriekers could be trusted. The next episode we’re watching is episode 7, …
Sometimes, shows only get one season because they’re bad. Sometimes, it’s because they’re before their time. And sometimes, it’s because they were aired so wildly …
This episode is a recap of a recap, and so, very reliable. The next episode we’re watching is episode 2, Ghost Dance.
Remember that meme about how a dog would wear pants? We have a slightly more graboid-focused version of that conversation in today’s episode.
This episode has enough juice to knock out Rodan. NOTE: The episode we’re watching next is Hit and Run, listed as episode 6.
Note: For the next episode, we’re watching Shriek and Destroy. Which, if you’re watching along, may appear as episode 13.
It’s the first episode about Tremors, so of course you’re going to learn a lot of the real absolute truth about Freemasons and the Great …
Even if you look behind things, you might not find the real danger, which is under things. We’re finally watching Tremors!
Learn the origin of Diana’s Dia de los Muertos smell, and join us for the final episode of the fantastic show The Chair.
The penultimate episode of The Chair, learn about Diana’s actual favorite smells, and more about how much Ju-Ju just absolutely rules.
There’s a right way and a wrong way to give an apology, and boy can you learn both in this episode.
We joked about this being the Frasier reboot, and it’s not, but like, it’s also not not the Frasier reboot.
Tackling the real questions surrounding academia, who would win in a battle of the cinematic siblings.
Coming this February! A Different Direction returns to the airwaves with an all-new lineup of shows!
Did you know that a show can be a lot better when you actually let the characters interact with each other?
This really long episode is ultimately just to explore the most important question: Is Beetlejuice an Inhuman?
It's not a great sign for a show when the only person who says anything the audience agrees with is the tyrannical antagonist they hate.
Agents of SHIELD was criminally underappreciated, so what happens when you spin it off with characters that were too obscure for that show, put the creator of Iron Fist at the helm, and release it two seasons after it was relevant to the series? We don't know, and be honest, neither do you. No one watched this show.
The final installment of the Fawlty Towers remakes brings with it something we never wanted: A Ferris Bueller Cinematic Universe.
Comedy legends Betty White and Harvey Korman remaking a classic BBC comedy? What could possibly go wrong? Turns out, almost everything. Just so much.
We're going in a different direction this season, as we explore the strange phenomenon of failed US remakes of the 1975 BBC comedy Fawlty Towers.

One more episode to go, and we just have to say, we're glad Ferris didn't kiss his sister in this one.
It's the multiverse, baby! In this one, we're all college basketball coaches, hanging with the most famous teen in the world.
This episode benefited so much from an imagined off-screen character it might have been Jaws: The Revenge.
Tangents! Get your tangents here! Fresh tangents, hot off the dome! Oh, also, Ferris is running a campaign for student body president or something.
Was Ferris Bueller always a psychopath and we just never noticed because Matthew Broderick was too white bread?
Time for season 3 of ADD! And boy, are we going in a different direction this season. Ferris Bueller, the TV show. It's just like the movie, except all of Matthew Broderick's charm has been replaced by existential questions about the nature of reality. Or, at least, they have if you're Dave.
For the second time, we're finishing a show's first and only season ready for a second. We're not prepared to say goodbye, Brisc, but it looks like it's time.
Does it make any sense for this sci-fi Western to do an episode that's just straight-up Psycho? Of course not. Does that stop it from being fun and good? Also, obviously, of course not.
Try to find one difference between The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. and The Mandalorian. You can't do it. There is no difference.
Dave has some strong feelings about the portrayal of poker on TV. Diana, as usual, has some strong feelings about Dixie Cousins.
Dave keeps goofing up, but does have actual tracking skills. What ever happened to the ants of Pompeii?
If horses could choose to get tattoos, would they? Specifically, would Comet? Dave figures out something important about history books in this show's version of the future.
After a bit of a hiatus, we're back to send off John Bly in the best way we know how: through Dave overanalyzing the time travel logic.
Some very good accent work from ol' TGIF Arcade in this episode. Dave briefly forgets how frogs work.
After a couple of bonkers episodes, this one is just a very simple Outlaw of the Week. Nothing especially wild about it at all. Sure, it features a sheriff who is just Elvis Presley, but at this point, that's kinda run-of-the-mill.
Last week's episode was wild. This week's takes the concept of "wild," throws it on the ground, and kicks dirt in its face. We thought we had come up with ideas weirder than this show would ever consider. We. Were. Wrong.
Freakylinks had Desert Squid! Myth or Legend? The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. has Bounty Hunter Convention. That's all you need to know.
In an episode full of some of the Biggest, Weirdest Plot yet, we suppose that maybe… they didn't go big or weird enough.
Dave makes a big Cameo goof, but has important ideas about who in this show is potentially Batman.
How much do you know about refining gasoline? We don't know a lot, but we think we probably know slightly more than whoever wrote this episode.
This episode of the TV show had such a major lore drop that it knocked this episode of the podcast off the rails before we even had a chance to get on them.
In case you weren't sure if we think Dixie is the right fit for Brisco, this episode should clear up any confusion.
In an episode with a lot of amazing moments, the most important one is our new OTP, who we're sure will never come back. But we'll be lamenting her for at least 16 more episodes.
One of the first things Diana says in this episode is, "We won't go on any tangents." Then, we go on one of the greatest tangents in our podcasting history.
What truly is the Orb? Does it really make ghosts? Is it secretly Ziggy from Quantum Leap? What is reality? Why are some noses really squeaky? These are the true mysteries of our time.
We went a bit long and all over the place, but it's an episode about Wild West pirates! Would you want us to be subdued? You're in the wrong place. Also, Diana teaches how to do a perfect set of loon calls.
A real rebound from last week with a super fun episode and some top notch grifting. More time traveling writers who are listening to our show and brought back Ringo and Big Daddy Bowler. Also, Dave gives some incorrect information about hatchets.
Woof. This episode was a rough one, folks. We try to keep it positive, but it's tough because of how this episode is so bad. It's bad enough that Dave wasn't even that into Pete being in it!
It seems Dave found the mailbox from The Lake House, and the writers of this show were on the other end, because they've fulfilled his deepest wishes 17 years before he even knew about them.
We also made Shining Time Station real weird.
TV throws off a lot of perspectives. Examples: We don't understand the economy in 1893 or how large Michael Landon was.
This show has an extremely memorable villain AND sidekick(?) for something made for Three Stooges fans.
The 90s loved a made-for-TV movie, and Fox went all in on this one for the pilot of The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. Does it hold up?
We found Dave's version of Freakylinks. And the question it inspires most is, "Why is the word 'orb' spookier than 'sphere?'" Because it very obviously is. Get ready for the next season of A Different Direction, featuring what it sure to be the next big thing in the Fox 1994 season!
How wrong can two people be in their predictions? I'll tell you how wrong. The most wrong. Just, unfathomably wrong. But the Freakylinks finale was also so right.
This episode of Freakylinks said "ACAB" with its whole chest and it should not have taken us 20 years to hear it.
Petition to reinstate Eric Baker aka Adisa Iwa: https://bit.ly/AdisaIwaPetition
Long-buried memories of Nickelodeon's Super Toy Run, a WILD weekend coincidence, and Dave completely nails one of his show predictions.
A confusing broadcast history makes this episode weirdly spoilery? Did the show skip a bunch of plot or did we just goof?
The Freakylinks gang might be trying to solve a really old supernatural mystery, but we may have solved an even more important mystery: Why this Florida surfer wears so many sweaters.
A real long episode, and we definitely had plenty to talk about, I'm sure. If only I could remember any of it mere hours after editing it. Enjoy!
This is it. Episode 7. We made so many predictions for what's happening this episode, and now it's time to find out how close we got. What do you think?
The Freakylinks gang deals with a bizarre set of monsters and one all-too-common one: the small town sheriff.
Are there alligators in the sewers? CHUDs? Pink slime? Derek Barnes and the original ghoul boys are on the case!
The TV Guide description of this episode of Freakylinks included the phrase "baby's first exorcism," and I'll never write a better description than that.
What do you get when you cross the X-Files with the Blair Witch Project? You get an Ethan Embry vehicle that’s pure, distilled 1999, and …
