TOPIC: FATHER, WHERE ARE YOU? 1

MEMORISE:
“All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.” – (Genesis 49:28)

19. For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

MESSAGE:
Today is the day we celebrate fathers. I therefore say to all fathers reading this: congratulations. To every man who is married and trusting God to become a father soon, in 9 months’ time, you and your wife would have been blessed with your own biological child, in Jesus’ name.

A father is the custodian of the destiny of his child. While mothers spend a lot of time with the children, raising them in the way of the Lord, there is this power that God has placed in the father to decide where the child will end up. The protection and final destination of a child is in the decisions and words of the father. The child bears the name of the father and whatever curses are in the lineage of the father will continue in the children if the man does not cancel them.

Sarah, Abraham’s wife was barren for many years before God finally gave her Isaac. Isaac’s wife Rebecca was also barren for several years before God finally gave her Jacob and Esau. The wife whom Jacob loved - Racheal was also barren for several years before God finally gave her Joseph. Thank God that Jacob wrestled with God and his name was changed to Israel. Dear brother, you cannot afford to pass generational curses to your children, rather, you should be passing blessings to them.

Children, especially sons, tend to grow up to be just like their father, hence that popular saying “Like father, like son”. King David was a great king, but he did not discipline his children. In (1 Kings 1:6), we see how David raised his children.

And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why hast thou done so?

When his children were grown and he started to see how they were misbehaving, he realised that he had left his children untrained and he regretted it. That is why when Solomon was born, he trained the boy. Solomon said in Proverbs 4:4 that his father trained him. It is God’s expectation that fathers must command their children to serve Him (Genesis 18:19). Are you committed to leading your children in the right direction?

Remember that your sons will carry your name forever and how your daughters behave in their matrimonial homes will be linked back to you. Invest yourself in them more than in your business or career.

ACTION POINT:
Lay your hands on your children if they are close to you or call them on the phone if they are far away and bless them from your heart.

TOPIC: LISTEN TO YOUR PARENTS

MEMORISE:
“A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.” - (Proverbs 13:1)

MESSAGE:
We have been talking about our children for some days now. Today, let us talk about you as a child. No matter how old you are, you must remain submissive to your parents - whether biological or spiritual.

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. - (Proverbs 4:10)

If you listen to your parents, you will live long because where you are now, they have been there before. You may have all the gadgets now, but you don’t have the experience that your parents do. You may feel big because you have achieved even more than your parents, but you must not forget that God brought you to this world through them for a reason. God wants us to receive godly counsel and instructions so we can be wise, as we see in Proverbs 19:20:
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

Submitting to the authority of your parents now may seem like a burden, but later on in life, you will be glad that you did. They may not be as educated as you; still listen to them. May you never have all the scars that your parents do, in Jesus’ name.

Don’t ever raise your voice at your parents. They may be old, they may be slow, they may even have maltreated you when you were younger, yet, give them the respect that being your parents calls for. An old person is closer to his grave and his or her words can have very serious consequences. If you bring tears to the eyes of your old parents, you are setting yourself up for destruction. Don’t forget the law of sowing and reaping. What you sow today, you will reap tomorrow.

Seek to get your parents’ blessings all the time. Make them happy, bring smiles to their faces, let them have rest when they think about you. If they offended you when they were younger, forgive them so that their sin will not end up on your neck. It is not the duty of the child to punish the parents; leave them to the Lord who brought you to the world through them.

KEY POINT:
No matter how big you have become, respect and honour your parents.

TOPIC: TEACH THEM TO SEEK GOD

MEMORISE:
“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” – (1 Chronicles 16:1)

MESSAGE:
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; - (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

The above passage says that the best time for anyone to remember God is when the fellow is young. The best time for your children to seek Him is when they are young. God says in Proverbs 8:17:
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Tell your children to seek God early, before it is too late for them to find Him. Some young people say they will start seeking God after they have amassed material wealth. Let them know that you cannot truly ‘make it’ in life without your Maker. What the world calls ‘making it’ is only a façade. Many people who seem to have ‘made it’ look good on the outside, but inside, they are battling some terrible things. Urge your children to start seeking God now so that they can really be successful in life. Hebrews 11:6 says:
... and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. In other words, if you don’t seek Him diligently, don’t expect any reward. Psalm 34:10 says:
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

You have to teach your children that every good thing that they can ever want is in the Lord. Teach your children to seek the Lord and they will never lack any good thing. Teach them how to study the Bible. It is a pity that many people do Bible Study when they get to Church, but at home they rush the devotion. You have to teach them how to dig deep into the Scriptures and get revelations as they read their Bible. Teach them how to pray. Teach them to ask God for whatever they want before they come and ask you. That is how you build in them the zeal to speak to God.

TOPIC: THE SEVEN SEALS 7

MEMORISE:
“And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” - (Revelation 7:14b)

MESSAGE:
While many people will die from the havoc caused by the sixth seal, some will still survive. Many Christians who determine not to bow to the Anti-Christ will be there too. It is these people who will be saved by the angel in the Bible reading for today before the seventh seal is opened. At last, after all they would have gone through, they will come out of the great tribulation, clothed with robes before the throne of God. They will be joining those of us that had already gone with the rapture.

For those who will still be left behind on earth, they will experience the vengeance of God for the saints that were persecuted and martyred.

And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. - (Revelation 8:4-5)

These people will experience the worst of tribulations.

Now I want you to spend good time praying today. Below is the list of prayer points:

Father, thank You for saving me. Thank You that I am a Christian and for the hope of reigning with You in glory.
Lord, as You prayed for Peter, please pray for me. Don’t let me fall into the hands of the devil, in Jesus’ name.
Father, I pray for all my family members and loved Ones; please don’t let them miss the rapture, let them all know You and live holy.
Father, please give me the boldness to preach the gospel to the unsaved around me. Don’t let anyone around me miss the rapture, in Jesus’ name.
Father please raise missionaries around the world who will win souls to Your Kingdom. Let everyone know the danger ahead if they don’t repent. Please Lord, send Your Holy Spirit to help convict them to repentance, in Jesus’ name.

KEY POINT:
I pray that I will see you in heaven after the rapture, in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: THE SEVEN SEALS 6

MEMORISE:
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:” - (Matthew 24:29)

READ: Revelation 6:12-17 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
As the sixth seal was broken, the earth shook. The Bible says there was a great earthquake and the sun became black like a sackcloth of hair. On that day, the Bible says the moon will be as blood and the stars of heaven will fall unto the earth. Heaven will roll away like a scroll and the earthquake will move entire mountains and islands out of their place. Many prophets of old, even Jesus Christ, prophesied about the day (Joel 2:31, Isaiah 34:4, Zephaniah 1:14, Matthew 24:29).

What John saw as stars falling to the earth could be either of two things. Many Bible Scholars say it could be wars of missiles which are already being prepared for by some super-powers. That is the war they say will be fought with missiles. When the missiles are falling, it will look like stars are falling from the sky. It could also be that John saw real stars falling to the earth. If you do a little research, you would see that we have had cases in the past where asteroids fell from space to the earth. When asteroids are falling, they usually burn as they fall and burn out before they get to the earth. Some big and harmful asteroids have hit the earth in the past. Now whether it is missiles or actual space elements falling onto the earth, they will be so many that anyone who looks to the sky will see the sky as if it is rolling away. At the same time, there will be such a great earthquake that mountains and islands will be displaced. May you not be on earth when it happens, in the name of Jesus.

In verses 15-17, we see that great men, including kings, will run to hide in dens and caves. There will be no ‘difference between the king and the slave on that day. The Bible says the kings, great and rich men, captains of industry, mighty men as well as bondmen will go to hide in dens and caves. This tells you straightaway that the positions that you are pursuing now will mean absolutely nothing at the end. At the end, titles will not matter. The poor and the rich will burn in hell together if they don’t repent. The madam of the house and the maid will be right beside each other burning in hell if they both don’t repent. The CEO and the gateman will both be suffering from God’s wrath if they don’t make it to heaven. A word is enough for the wise.

KEY POINT:
Forget about all the cares of this world and focus on making it to heaven.

TOPIC: THE SEVEN SEALS , part 5

MEMORISE:
“The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.” – (Zephaniah 1:14)

READ: Revelation 6:9-11 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
The first four seals involved human beings destroying each other. All that the inhabitants of the world at that time would have seen will look man-made- people destroying each other. From the fifth seal on, the punishment will be coming directly from heaven.

When the fifth seal was opened, John saw under the altar in heaven, the souls of Martyrs - saints who were killed for the sake of the gospel. They were crying for vengeance. This tells us straight away that vengeance is coming for all those who have died and does who are currently suffering for the gospel. If you are one of such saints, take heart; the persecution may be great now, but please don’t try to avenge yourself so that you do not miss your place in heaven in the process. Just keep standing for Christ; the time is coming when your persecutors will be dealt with if they refuse to repent. Take heart, beloved of the Lord and be strong.

Now, John records that the martyrs were given white robes and told to hold on for other Christians on earth who will be martyred too, and then God will avenge them. In that time, many people who will realise their error after missing rapture will be determined to make heaven. It will be very difficult then to be a Christian because the Christians will not worship the Anti-Christ nor take his mark. Now, there are some areas in the world where it is difficult to be a Christian, but those areas are few; after the rapture however, it will be difficult to be a Christian everywhere around the world. The whole world will be against Christians. They will gladly kill any Christian that refuses to take the mark and the government will back them up.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. - (Revelation 13:15-17)

Do all you can to avoid missing the rapture.

Surrender your life totally to Jesus now and commit to a life of holiness so you do not miss the rapture.

MEMORISE:
“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” – (Revelation 6:8)

MESSAGE:
If you think the three seals we have discussed in this series so far have been terrifying, you haven’t seen anything yet. There are still four more seals to be opened and studied. According to the bible, at the opening of the fourth seal, a pale horse would appear with Death sitting on it, hell following close behind. Death will have a field day after the rapture. In fact, God Himself will allow it take one quarter of the whole earth. Hell will be following right behind it so that as the people are dying, he can be collecting them and putting them through an eternity of torment. After they have suffered so much on earth, they will then go on to continue the suffering in Hell. That is what people call “from frying pan to fire”. I’m so glad I will not be here when all this is happening. I and my children-in-the-Lord will be having a beautiful fellowship with God and other saints in heaven.

Some of the people that death will take will be killed by the sword. Remember, a war will be going on at that time. Another set of people will be killed with hunger. That will be as a result of the scarcity of food in the whole world. Yet another set will be killed by the beasts of the earth. This could either mean that the wild animals will start killing people or that diseases from animals will kill many people. Of course, when there is hunger, people will eat all kinds of animals and these animals will have diseases in them that will be passed on to the human population. The Corona virus pandemic that hit two years ago only killed a relatively tiny population of the world and the whole world trembled. Imagine what will happen when a quarter of the whole world is dying. That is why, if you are sure of your own salvation, you should preach to others to be saved.

Why are you not preaching the gospel to them? Why are you not inviting them to church meetings where you know that they will hear the word of God? Why are you staying silent, watching them head towards danger? I know the danger that is coming, so I have determined that I will not stop preaching the gospel. I will go to the nooks and crannies of the world to warn everyone about this imminent danger. I will keep preaching the gospel and I will take as many people as I can along with me to heaven. What about you?

Father, please don't let me or anyone I know miss the rapture in Jesus' name.

“And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and wine.” - (Revelation 6:6)

MESSAGE:
In the Bible reading for today, we see the third seal opened and a man on a black horse coming forth with a pair of balances in his hand. Revelation 6:6 says:
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny...

At this time, as a result of the war we discussed yesterday, the economy of the whole world will be affected. Agriculture in particular will suffer because most of the men who would have cultivated crops and reared animals would have been drafted into the army. Even where there is food, transporting it will be a problem so there will be famine all over the world. Bread will be weighed before it is sold. Food will be extremely expensive.

Revelation 6:6 further says:
and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Scarce as food will be, luxury goods will not be touched; they will be very much available. Alcoholic drinks that are consumed by the rich will remain but how will a poor and hungry person get money to buy whisky?

Those who think that are suffering now, yet are still living in sin have not seen anything yet. Those who miss the rapture will experience extreme hunger. Even those that have the money will not find enough food to buy. While we in heaven will be enjoying unlimited pleasures, singing and dancing, those on earth will be starving and wailing. Any fellow who thinks that sin is sweet now should go on sinning; a time is coming when he will realise that sin is bitter. Choosing a life of holiness is the best decision you can ever make because it secures your future in heaven. If you say something is too big for you to drop now in other to make heaven, wait until that time and see if that thing will even be relevant at all.

KEY POINT:
Nothing will ever be big enough to make me miss heaven, in Jesus’ name.

TOPIC: THE SEVEN SEALS 2

MEMORISE:
“And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.” – (Revelation 6:4)

MESSAGE:
After the Anti-Christ has arrived and has been crowned, the second seal will be opened. Now, remember that from yesterday’s study, we saw that the whole world has happy with their now leader who seemed to be a promoter of peace. However, when the second seal is opened, they will see true colour of their leader. He will provoke wart. At that time, all his diplomacy will be gone.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) - (Matthew 24:15)

The words of Daniel referred to by Jesus in the above passage are in Daniel 11:31:
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

The arms that will be on his part are represented by the man on the red horse that will be released when the second seal is opened. Now the Anti-Christ will have the military at his fingertips. Though he would have allowed the Israelites to rebuild their temple, he will sacrifice pigs on the altar of that temple. Anyone that knows Jewish law will know that Jews can never tolerate that. War will break out! This will be the war of all wars. Some countries will support the Anti-Christ and some will be against him. I pity those who will be on earth at this time. The war will be terrible, so terrible that Jesus warned thus,’

Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no nor ever shall be. - (Matthew 24:16-21)

TOPIC: THE SEVEN SEALS 1

MEMORISE:
“And I saw when the Lamp opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, come and see.” – (Revelation 6:1)

MESSAGE:
After rapture has happened and God has taken His children out of this world, seven seals will be opened in heaven and some notable event will take place on the earth.

Revelation 6:1-2 says:
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

When Jesus opened the first seal, John saw a man sitting on a white horse and holding a bow. The man was given a crown and then he went forth to conquer. This man is the Anti-Christ. He will be given a crown over the world after the rapture. At that time, the whole world will come together under one body and he will be made the leader. If you noticed in the passage above, he has a bow but no arrow. This is because he will not conquer with force but with diplomacy. He will be perceived as a man of peace. He will be so diplomatic that he will be loved by everyone. He will even allow the Jews to rebuild the temple.

There have been many speculations as to who the Anti-Christ is. At one time, people said it was Adolph Hitler, but clearly that is not correct. Some people say that he is already born and will begin his campaign to rule the world when he is thirty years old. This is assuming that he will pattern his life after Jesus Christ. I cannot say who the Anti-Christ is, but one thing I know is that the devil is waiting eagerly for that time when he will raise him to rule the earth and since he knows that rapture will happen very soon, his own agent must also be ready. For me, it doesn’t matter who the Anti-Christ is because I will not be here when he is ruling the world. What about You? Will you still be here when the Anti-Christ arises? The answer to that question is not about what you say, but rather, how you live your life now. If you live holy now, then you will not be here then, but if you still engage in sin, then God help you when the Anti-Christ arises.

REFLECTION:
Some people will be safe in heaven by the time the anti-christ begins his rule on earth. Where will you be when the time comes?

TOPIC: DON'T GO BACK TO SODOM

MEMORISE:
“As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.” - (Proverbs 26:11)

READ: Hebrews 6:4-8 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
In Genesis 13, Abraham gave Lot the opportunity of choosing where he would settle. As soon as Lot made his choice, Abraham chose another place to settle in, so as to avoid their men fighting. The Bible says that Lot chose to settle in Sodom because it looked very attractive, like the land of Egypt. Note that Egypt was very well known for all kinds of sins in those days. By Genesis 14, Lot had gotten into trouble; because he was living in Sodom, he got captured along with the Sodomites when there was a battle. Abraham heard that his nephew had been captured, so he went after the army and rescued him. In Genesis 19, when God sent angels to Sodom, who did the angels meet at the gate? Lot. If you made a wrong choice before and God rescued you, is it not foolishness to go back to that same mistake?

Some people say you can backslide as many times as you want, after all, the prodigal son was received by his father when he returned. How many times did the prodigal son leave the house? He left only once. Thus, if you think that the story of the prodigal son is an excuse for falling into sin again and again, you are deceiving yourself. My prayer is that if you have made any wrong choice, the Almighty God will correct you today and give you the grace never to repeat your mistakes.

Lot went back to Sodom and eventually lost everything. The following Scriptures tell us the end of Lot’s children who are the Moabites and Ammonites:

And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord. - (Jeremiah 48:42)

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the Lord. - (Jeremiah 49:2)

Proverbs 29:1 says the one who is often reproved but hardens his neck shall perish suddenly and without repentance. Be careful. If you have fallen before and God has corrected and delivered you, don’t make that mistake again.

Don't return to your vomit.

TOPIC: HOW OFTEN DO YOU EAT?

MEMORISE:
“Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!” - (Ecclesiastes 10:16)

READ: Proverbs 23:1-2 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
One major characteristic of children is that they are always on the lookout for food. When you put something in the hand of a baby, the next thing he or she will do is to put it in his/her mouth. Food is a significant part of their daily activities. If food becomes the topmost priority to you to the extent that is the first thing you think of every day, you are likened to an immature leader whose followers are doomed, as we see in our memory verse today. For such people, whatever is placed in their care is seriously endangered.

According to (1 Kings 17:2-6), God personally took responsibility for Elijah’s feeding and only served him twice daily. This implies that God’s standard for eating especially for adults, is twice a day. I remember the day I shared this message with some Pastors; many of them did not like my Bible study of that day because they were used to the concept of ‘three square meals a day’. In addition to this, many people still have the habit of snacking just when they are about to sleep. This is not good for you at all, especially if you are to be in charge of important things, including your destiny. As an adult, it is advisable that you eat only twice a day; that is what the Lord who made your body recommends.

As a matter of fact, those who are really serious about their destiny don’t eat every day. Paul the Apostle said in (2 Corinthians 11:27) that he fasted often. No wonder he fulfilled his destiny (2 Timothy 4:7-8). I am 80 years old now, and I don’t eat every day; I still fast often because I want to finish my course, I want to fulfil my destiny before I leave this world.

In 1984, I was on a forty-day fast, lying weak on my prayer mat, when someone came in, saw me and asked, “What else are you looking for in life that is making you fast this much?” That was 38 years ago; what had I achieved then that someone would advise me to stop fasting? Look how far I have come since then. I’m sure it is clear that I made a good choice by ignoring the fellow. What have you achieved so far? Are you satisfied with it? You should only eat every day when you are no longer striving for anything more than you have already.

Father, please don't let my belly hinder me from fulfilling my destiny, in the mighty name of Jesus.

TOPIC: QUICK AND POWERFUL

MEMORISE:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” - (Hebrews 4:12)

READ: Luke 5:17 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
Hebrews 4:12 says the word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword. It says it can separate between joints and marrows. This implies that the word of God can perform surgical procedures that even the best among surgeons dare not attempt. An elderly man came to me several years ago, asking me to pray for the success of the surgery he needed to have to cure him of prostate cancer. I said to him, “Why don’t we pray that there will be no need for a surgery?” He laughed and said, “You are a young boy; you will not understand. Just pray that God will guide the hands of the surgeon”. I said, “Sir, I am not going to pray that kind of prayer; I’m going to pray that my Father will heal you”. He responded that I should pray whichever way I wanted as he would still go for the surgery anyway. On the day of the surgery, a final check by the surgeon revealed that he had been healed and there was no need for the procedure anymore. Psalm 107:20 says:

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

The word of God is quick and powerful enough to heal you or any of your loved ones of any sickness.

In Luke 7:6-7, the Centurion said he knew that if Jesus would just send a word to his servant, the man would be healed. The Lord sent the word and his servant was indeed healed. This Centurion gave us a template on how we can get a word from God. Firstly, he knew the Word Himself and then he approached Him in faith. Do you know Jesus Christ, the Word of God? How long do you spend studying the Bible? How much of the word do you memorise? How do you expect the word you do not know or regard to work for you? Get to know God’s word by studying the Bible regularly.

The Centurion relied on the word with so much faith that Jesus Christ said He had never seen such in Israel before. When the word says in (1 Peter 2:24) that you are healed by His stripes, do you believe it? When the word says in Deuteronomy 7:15 that none of the diseases that fall on the Eyptians (unbelievers) will come to you, do you believe it? If you truly believe in the word of God, then your actions will align with your faith (James 2:17). Whatever challenge you may be faced with today, I decree: you will be victorious in Jesus’ name.
