In John 6:45, Jesus quoted from Isaiah 54:13 saying, “And they shall be taught of God”. When the Jews asked Jesus where He got His learning, they were shocked at His response. To most, the passage in John 9 deals with a blind man being healed by Jesus on the Sabbath, but it is much more about the healing from sin that Jesus accomplished at Calvary. When we privately interpret the Bible without preaching, you can insert subjectivity or your own desires into the word. Instead of Gods thoughts. Very dangerous. The hearing of the word mixed with faith and planted by the Holy Spirit is paramount.
Value the time that we’ve been given by God. Making it count; making whatever we’re doing, whatever we’re putting our hands and hearts into make it valuable. Not just from a temporal perspective but from an eternal perspective. It’s important for us biblically speaking to have the right attitude about time, The more that we understand it especially as we are believers we have eternal life living inside of us and allows us to take a step back from our lives knowing that our future is secure and then be able to take a look at where we stand in the midst of time and space and it gives us a perspective that we otherwise wouldn’t have.
Two important New Testament events occurred in an upper room. Most Christians are aware of the first one: the Last Supper. The second one took place after Jesus’s ascension in Acts 1: the 10-day period waiting for the coming of the Holy Spirit. A look at these two events may give us special insight into the introduction of the New Covenant as manifested at Pentecost in Acts 2.
It is no surprise that Abraham is the father of the faith and therefore, father of us all as believers in Christ (verse 16). How can anyone measure the degree and/or quality of faith in God it took him to “Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you”
Much of the old covenant relationship with God through the Law of Moses was perfected in an individual’s attitude toward and pursuit of wisdom. In fact, a major section of old covenant literature is known as “Wisdom Literature” and reference works attributable to Solomon, including Proverbs and Ecclesiastes as well as Ecclesiasticus and the Wisdom of Solomon. 2 Corinthians 13 | In verse 6 it says "Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don't Drift along."
2 Corinthians 12 is talking about strength and weakness. You may be the janitor, and that may be the thing that God gave you to do in the church. So live up to the highest potential of what that thing is. Praise God doing it while you're doing it, And your reward is great for being faithful and obedient.
