Welcome back friends!!! You do NOT want to miss this episode y'all! Rachel is a biological mama to three, but a foster mama to many others! She doesn't hold back for us when getting into the nitty gritty details of fostering! I asked a lot of big questions but got even bigger answers, because GOD! Y'all, the way God revealed himself in Rachel's story, and the way she continued to be obedient to the desire she felt He put on her heart is so inspiring! I know you will think so too. As always, if you do, please leave a five star review with what you loved about it, and make sure to follow Rachel on social media and let her know how much we appreciate her!

In today's episode, we discuss our family tradition we started last year: TFF or Tillett Fun Friday. It has helped us become more intentional as a family, definitely brings us joy, and something we hope to continue for years to come! I hope this inspires you to do something similar with your own family! If you do please DM me or tag us over at @the_simplejoyspodcast on Instagram or you can email me at thesimplejoysmom@gmail.com
Today's episode is a special one! I'm introducing you to my husband Michael Tillett. We have been together for almost 18 years and married almost 9. He was kind enough to offer his perspective as a spouse, but also a loved one who was a witness to my struggles with anxiety; what it was like when I was really struggling and how it can be still. We go deep and it's a little longer than our normal episodes, but we really hope you enjoy this one and that it's helpful in some way! If you do enjoy it, please let us know by leaving a review and sharing with a friend you think could help!

This is a very special episode, with rare look behind the scenes of the person who loves an addict. Jessica found herself in a situation she never dreamed of: the love of her life, husband, and father of her children newly addicted to drugs. If things could not get any worse for their family, she was also newly pregnant. Still a mom, Jessica had to pick herself and her entire young family up and keep going every day. She even wrote a book in the process, because she felt this topic does not get enough light shed on it. If you know someone who needs to hear this message, please share! There is a link to Jessica's book below if you would love to support her and also read this beautiful book for yourself.
Also, the gorgeous illustrations were drawn by her sister Janelle Peraz

This episode is near and dear to my heart. Today's conversation is a tough one, so I would like to offer a trigger warning for anyone struggling with infant loss, pregnancy termination, and all talk around that. We sit down with my little sister Hailey Brigham. Her story is almost unheard of! Hailey's water broke at 16 weeks, and by nothing short of a miracle, her daughter (my niece), June survived. This is her story.
If you would like to contact Hailey you can find her on Instagram @_haym and her business account Instagram @erin.and.june
I cannot wait for you to hear today's episode with James Smith. James is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and U.S. Army. He is also a retired police officer and federal employee of the Dept. of Homeland Security. James has his undergraduate degree in Organizational Behavior and a Masters in Counseling Psychology. He has been practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist for five years! We have an amazing conversation about mental health, specifically anxiety and depression, but he offers SO MUCH WISDOM! I really enjoyed my conversation with James, and I know you will too! Please give this episode a 5 star review and let me know over on Instagram how much you enjoyed this episode! Be sure to share with a friend who could use some encouragement, and don't forget to subscribe and turn on notifications to hear next week's episode!
In this episode, I share my story. In my early 20s, my anxiety disorder got really out of control. Sleepless nights, spiraling negative thoughts, panicked at all times, sometimes felt I was on the brink of insanity! But there was a light, and a newfound joy I still have today! Tune in to today's podcast to hear about it all, including my breakthrough moments. Please make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you can hear next week's episode! It would also mean the world if you could leave this episode a 5 star review, and share with me your thought and if it's helped you in any way! Be sure to share with a friend you think could use this message as a reminder they are not alone!
