I am not saying get up at 4am like me but getting up an hour earlier than you do is beneficial for the ONE reason that I have come to see...
No it is not what is stated over social media - 'YOU GET MORE HOURS IN THE DAY' - because that is b* (unless you require less than 6 hours to function).
Yes there are scientific pros and cons to getting up earlier, like everything else in the world, but this reason is just what I have seen after doing it for so long.
I thought I would share it with you so that you can see the benefits it has given me!
Enjoy!
I am BACK!
After a busy month, here is the recap of my FIRST weightlifting competition.
Results:
85kg snatch
125kg Clean and Jerk
But where did I place?
It was a great day out and meet some great people/competitors. Looking forward to more of these days. Full focus ahead for the summer!
If you're thinking of signing up for a competition/event/fun run I say FUCKING DO IT! Get the first one out of the way, no pressure and take the next step after
Short and sweet episode this week!
In reality, I am in love with my training programme right now. So why might it be considered "boring"?
It is because I am doing the same exercises, hitting the same percentages week in week out with no deviation at all!
BUT this is where you will see progression because you will be able to compare how the weight moved in week 1 to how it moved in the final week if you stay consistent.
Put in the hours, do the same movement on repeat and see where it takes you!

Why did I start my fitness journey? What has changed over my 10 years (just shy of)?
We all have our personal targets or reasons as to why we start looking after our health. Overtime these reasons can change.
The name of this podcast started as just a play on my surname....It now poses a question to me every time I am having an awful session. It reminds me why I keep showing up to improve myself, my fitness and my life.
That is why I started this podcast as well. To help people, no matter what stage they are in their journey, improve their wellbeing by providing tips which have helped me get to where I am today.
So, whatever your reason that you started or want to start your fitness journey is. Write it down, look at it everyday and take one step to start the process to a better you!
With all 6 challenges completed after th 24 hour rowathon on New Year's Eve. I thought a round up of the challenges I faced within the challenges would be a great way to start the year.
But the stat that everyone, who supported me through messages and donations, should be proud of is this:
£1500+ raised for across all the charities!
None of the help would be possible, for the people who are struggling with their illness and their families that are affected, without YOU. So I can't be more grateful.
2023 was a big year of change and development...so 2024 is a year for new challenges and more memories.

Injuries!
Sometimes you can't avoid them. They are part of the sport that I play.
But when it comes to a time to 'do the dance'. I always struggle finding my feet. Any injury I have I want to get back to training as fast as possible.
The only problem is the advice I give to my mates who train as well...If I can't listen to my own advice how do I expect them to follow through with it themselves.
I guess you have to listen to the episode to find out what that advice is...
Don't rush back into training, you will do more damage then good (ps this is not the advice but it probably should be)

BREAKING DOWN THE MOVEMENT
It is often overlooked as we want to do the movement and think 'if I do it more. I will get over this plateau'. For a rare amount, this is true, but for the majority of us we need to work on different parts of the movement to gain that extra 1% when going for the next max lift.
Hope you enjoy the episode

Just from me having one shit session the other day had me thinking what could I do to improve my chances of success. Then it hit me, the one thing that the majority of the population overlook, underestimate and completely forget about.
It is so small, in the grand scheme of things, yet it is what separates the elite athletes from everyone else. It is a tool that we learn from a young age yet forget when we are older.
If you haven't guessed what it is...then this episode is something you should listen to.
I hope you enjoy it.
Leave a review and comment on what other areas of lifting I should focus on.
