ep 88. welcome julia padavona to the perfectly imperfect podcast! today we talked through making life decisions, big and small, in your 20s and how it can feel overwhelming feeling we need to find the “right path” when that simply doesn’t exist. she shares her experience moving spontaneously half way across the world, transitioning to working in nyc, and navigating how social media causes comparison and unrealistic expectations. at the end of the day, there is no “one or right” path for anyone, you are exactly where you are supposed to be. julia helps remind us all that if we put trust in our body and in our gut feelings, it will take you far.

about julia:

julia padavona is the creator and host of ‘Smart and Hot’, a podcast and community for women longing to step into their fullest, most magnetic potential. her work is dedicated to helping women embrace their individuality, pursue their dreams with courage, and embody their most radiant, self-actualized selves.

at the heart of Julia’s ethos is a focus on magnetism, self-concept, and somatic reprogramming — bridging the mind, heart, and body to activate and embody the embodied, confident, aligned and authentic ‘smart and hot’ self.

ep 73. here are a few lessons I’ve been learning about myself lately throughout the past 8 months of being back in therapy. I feel that I am in the thick of a healing and self discovery journey. While these kinds of journeys feel messy and complicated and uncertain at times, being able to have moments where we can reflect on what we've learned and notice our own growth, self awareness, and acceptance is huge. I hope this episode finds you well and helps you begin to accept yourself a bit more, inspire you to learn more about yourself, and ride the wave of the ups and downs that our minds may put us through.

ep 70. today I wanted to dive into this idea that every one of us already are the people we want to become, we just might need a little help believing it for ourselves. I was recently told this and it resonated with me so deeply that I had to share my thoughts with you all. in this episode I talk through my thoughts and feelings on this concept and how I’ve been going about believing it and implementing it into my own life and my own growth journey. this episode is imperfect and I definitely don’t have all the answers, but I hope together we can learn and accept that showing up imperfectly is a completely normal and necessary part of life! sending love, as always.

steps I’m taking:

  1. accept the way you are now & meet yourself with compassion
  2. consume less to give yourself space to be you
  3. attend to your needs with curiosity, not judgment
  4. let the parts of you led by fear fall back, and the parts of you led by authenticity come forward
  5. speak to yourself like you are already the person you want to be, in a nurturing & kind way

black and white mindsets have been a very common theme throughout my life. constantly viewing things as one or the other with no in between is so normal, but also so limiting. i've found that the more i challenge that thinking and look for the "grey area" in life, that's where i find true freedom and happiness!

in this episode i talk through how black and white thinking shows up in my life currently, how it is potentially harmful, and ways to start combating the "all or nothing" thinking and see the "in between".
