Bibliothek der 100 Sprachen / Library of 100 languages
The Library of 100 Languages is scheduled for the period between October 2 and November 30 in the library container at Schillerplatz square. Especially citizens of Linz with a migratory background, that is, roughly one fourth of this city's population, are invited to provide books on loan in their respective mother-tongue.
This "language treasure trove" is meant to reflect reading habits, offer insights into mostly strange worlds, and above all become a strong signal for a multicultural Capital of Culture. Loan one book in your mother-tongue and make the Library of 100 Languages a strong signal for a multicultural Capital of Culture!

The main deck of the Ars Electronica Center provides a stunning setting for the opening of theatre mania2: sunburn with a new piece by Wim Vandekeybus and his company Ultima Vez, entitled nieuwZwart. Vandekeybuss work is renowned for its intense energy and focus on movement beyond the physical vocabulary of traditional dance. This latest piece features music by Mauro Pawlowski, singer and guitarist of Deus, who will perform live accompanied by two other musicians.

Can three Flemish musicians and six local participants compose a piece of music together in a few hours? Mauro Pawlowski from Belgian band Deus and his colleagues Jeroen Stevens and Elko Blijweert took up the challenge on Sunday 26th July 2009!

We want to thank Mr. Klemens Pilsl who guided us through the
"Akustikon" and gave us interesting information about the installations.
Cultural life in Linz´ Bindermichl and Spallerhof neighbourhoods will revolve around a brand new hub. Bellevue is the name of this temporary architectural landmark, a wooden structure thats gone up over the last few weeks above the portal of the Bindermichl expressway tunnel.
