Name of Book: Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
Author Background: Born in London 1968. She worked in fashion retail for years.
Fun fact: Jewell accepted a challenge from her friend, Yasmin Boland, to write three chapters of a novel in exchange for dinner at her favourite restaurant. Those three chapters were eventually developed into Jewell's debut novel Ralph's Party, which then became the UK's bestselling debut novel in 1999.

Background on author: Alex Michaelides was born in Cyprus to a Greek father and English mother. He has a degree in English Literature from Cambridge and an MA in screenwriting at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, and has studied psychotherapy and worked in a secure unit.
