GBG with Coach Jae Jenkins: Recent Episodes

Youth Advocate & Coach aka Mr. "Do It For You so You Can Do It For The Youth"

I help people live a more intentional life. By tapping into the creativity each of us uniquely possess, and building out a foundation of self awareness, I equip people with tools that can help along their own journey of this life. It is my belief that if more adults lived this way, we would be better able to model these behaviors to younger generations so that they can create a world that best suits them. With this podcast series, you can expect to receive some nuggets that you will find helpful, as we create opportunities for self discovery, reflection, and explore various topics. With Thanksgiving hitting us tomorrow, I imagine a lot of us are looking forward to not only the food and the time with family and loved ones, but also being able to share what we are truly thankful for. I know at some of our gatherings, we will give space for everyone to say what they’re most thankful for. If you participate in this activity before, during, or after the meal, you’ll hear about some pretty amazing things, both big and small. And even more than that, I’m sure that just by hearing others share their gratitude and thankfulness, we all will walk away a little lighter in our spirits. So my question to you today is: How do we keep this thankfulness and gratitude going, even when we leave our respective gatherings? Take a listen...I think I have an idea

"When it comes to life, the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude." - G.K. Chesterton

It's still November, which means it's still National Gratitude Month! So this week, I'd like to offer up a guided meditation that can help us appreciate the little things in life. Remember, when we truly embrace gratitude, we can quickly shift our focus from the negative to the positive things in our lives. Learning to be grateful helps us appreciate the little things in life that we tend to take for granted, which in turn, brings about a deep feeling of satisfaction that fulfills and nourishes us. It is my belief that if we paint our lives with gratitude, our lives will become the masterpiece we truly desire to see.

So there's no need to hold back that gratitude until the 24th, let's get into all month...and hopefully, develop a consistent, deeper, and intentional practice of gratitude for the rest of our lives.

It says in Genesis, that we were "created in His image". And as my brother once told me, that would mean we were created in the image of the Ultimate Creator! Creativity is a quality that we all have buried inside of us, one way or the other. Some people’s creative abilities are closer to the surface and for others, expressing this creativity takes more time and cultivation. The important thing to note is that we can all be creative. We just have to take steps to extract it from within us. Listen to this episode for 4 things we all can do to bring forth our creativity more often.

Our past experiences can have a significant impact on our daily lives. We base our decisions on events that have happened in the past and we sometimes dwell on past experiences or people. Moving forward is not always an easy thing to do. It may be easier for some and harder for others. Today, I'd like to share a helpful acronym that can help us: S.H.I.F.T.I.N.G

S - Say It!

H - Habits

I - Imagine and Invent

F - Focus

T - Teach

I - Invest

N - No Negative Nancy

G - Growth is the Goal
