Southern vs FAMU is a rivalry that matches few others!
This year the Jaguars come to Tallahassee and FAMU is definitely favored to win.
But we have seen much less of our athletic director in the past few weeks.
Is she preparing to move towards the next stop in her profession?
We have seen FAMU be used as a stepping stone for a while and with an expiring contract one would not blame her for looking for the next opportunity.
What makes it more understandable is the strained relationship which exist and the accolades which have come to the program under her leadership.
Like it or not, she has a case to make at the interview table, lets see what it is!

FAMU vs Jackson State may be the best game of the season in the SWAC western division. Atmosphere, importance and more could be the game that decides who wins the conference this season as it has been for the last few seasons.
The conference definitely got what it wanted in this game between its eastern division heavy weights.
Also FAMU fans need a bit of direction coming from those in control of the athletics program.
And it may be time to give those people who questioned that SWAC & Byron Allen deal some credit.

During the Billy Joe Era a major point of contention was his use of transfer players to beef up the roster. But those players often proved to be the catalyst for the success of the Gulf Coast Offense era.
What was controversial in those times has proven to be the catalyst for success and a necessary part of most successful programs.
But I definitely wonder if Billy Joe who proved to be a trailblazer would have been given the opportunity to use transfers in the same way the Simmons & Colzie have?

The upcoming SWAC Television schedule seems to validate that this is a viable product which is being undersold and under utilized.

Of course but it seems like the SWAC has something which if done correctly can be monetized and with the New NCAA rules about marketing the question has to be had of can the SWAC make its own money from these new rules.

One of my least favorite responses to something that is said is Sounds Good.
Because in my own person it sounds dismissive, but after listening to AD Sykes on Friday I left with the response that what she stated sounds good.

Watching the 220 Special by Vaughn Wilson was cathartic for some and frustrating for others but it was very informative.

In a week full of fumbled bags on the Highest of Seven Hills many FAMU supports have good reason to question the leadership at the university.
Turning Down Millions of Dollars in guaranteed tens of Millions because you felt like you had Hundreds of Millions is definitely head scratching on multiple fronts.
Also FAMU football loses a coach, Softball loses in the SWAC Tournament and FAMU Baseball seems to have given us hope of winning a SWAC title.

It has come really apparent that we quickly become experts in things that are very foreign to us.
But Millions of dollars aside, we have seen that FAMU is becoming a power in the SWAC in multiple sports.
The cries for FAMU to return to the MEAC seem to be less about simply not wanting FAMU in the conference and now seem to show a disdain for the program in general.

After a $237 Million Dollar donation with 100 Million Earmarked the possibilities of what could be are endless.

The Football team was the highlight of the weekend on the Highest Seven Hills as an addition was made to the offensive line. In sharp contrast the Basketball teams went to Mississippi and lost in the first half of a trip to the SIP. The men scored less than 50 points while the women let what was a close game get away from them by the close of the game. So what is the solution? Should the coaches be fired or retained? Florida A&M University finishes the regular season by playing against Bethune-Cookman in Orlando. This game is a benefit huge for both the universities and the city of Orlando and the prevailing question is if the universities could get a bigger piece of the economic pie. Beyond that is the game outcome. After a Decade and Covid restrictions, FAMU was able to defeat the Wildcats. We have to talk about this weekend and the events surrounding it. Also FAMU had two players play in the NFL and the question of how to promote this and celebrate it should be asked.

Fall practice has begun on the Highest of Seven Hills & We will also talk about the Grambling State Game. We also have a parking problem that is affecting those who may be interested in purchasing season tickets. I share a possible solution to this problem in the form a shuttle system.
