Ever wonder what it actually takes to become a sought after wedding photographer — the kind couples choose before they've even gotten on a call with you? In this episode, I'm sharing the most in-depth version of the beginning of my own story: how I went from a pediatric trauma nurse to a six-figure wedding photography business in under a year, how I moved my business across the country without losing a single week of momentum, and the exact shift that took one of my students from three years of silence in her inbox to booking $9,000 in three days. If you've ever felt invisible even while doing everything "right," or you're tired of getting ghosted after sending your pricing guide, this episode will change how you think about your own photography business marketing and messaging.

Attend live for the Q&A and a chance at a live website audit * My personal accomplishments tracker — the same one I read from in this episode — grab it if you want a way to look back and see how far you've come in your own business * Join the Anchara waitlist — the all-in-one CRM I'm building specifically for photographers, combining client management, email marketing, contracts, invoices, social scheduling, automations, and more in one place. If you've ever obsessed over your revenue number without actually understanding why your bookings are up or down, this episode is going to change how you see your entire photography business. We're breaking down the four hidden numbers most wedding photographers never track consistently — your website conversion rate, your contact page conversion rate, your inquiry to booking rate, and your call conversion rate — and showing you exactly how each one reveals where your business is quietly leaking clients. Revenue can only tell you what already happened. These four numbers tell you what to actually fix next.
I'm walking you through real stories from my Book It students to show you what's possible when you finally understand your numbers instead of just guessing — from a student booking around 90% of her calls, to another who had a bride ready to book within five minutes of getting on the phone. I'm also sharing a personal story about hiring a nanny for my son that perfectly mirrors why speed and consistency in your inquiry response can make or break a booking. By the end of this episode, you'll know exactly which one number to start watching this week and what it's telling you about your photography business growth.

If you've been losing sleep over where your wedding photography pricing is supposed to live – on your website, behind an inquiry form, or saved for the discovery call – I want to take that weight off your shoulders right now. The reason this question feels so impossible is because it's been treated like a yes-or-no decision, when it was never yes-or-no at all. It's about the sequence – what you say, where you say it, and in what order – so couples fall in love with you before they ever start comparing numbers.
In this Pricing Conversations episode, I'm walking you through exactly where your pricing belongs at every stage: on your website, inside your inquiry response, and in the actual conversation on a discovery call. We get into the real difference between price transparency (the number that qualifies people) and the pricing conversation (the connection that converts them) – two completely different skills almost nobody talks about. I also share why couples ghost you after you send your pricing (spoiler: it's almost never the number), how to rewrite your photography inquiry response to lead with connection first, and the website audit that uncovered 950 visits and only one inquiry.
Whether you're a wedding photographer trying to stop getting price shopped, book more dream clients, or finally feel calm and confident talking about money, this one will reframe how you think about sharing your pricing in today's market. You'll walk away with four things you can implement today to start qualifying better inquiries and booking the couples who were always meant to find you.

You're using AI in your photography business right now – whether you realize it or not. From Lightroom's generative tools to culling software to how you're writing your blogs, AI is everywhere in our workflows.
But here's what most photographers don't know: without the right language in your contracts, you could be putting your copyright ownership at risk. Even worse, your clients are probably uploading your delivered photos into AI generators and creating derivative works without understanding they're violating your copyright. The legal layer of photography has completely shifted, and the photographers who get ahead of this now are the ones who'll sleep soundly knowing they're protected.
In this episode, I have Paige Griffith from The Legal Paige to walk you through the AI clauses you need in your photography contract right now, why transparency about your AI usage actually builds trust with clients, and exactly what happens when clients use AI on your photos. Whether you're already using AI tools or you're wondering if you should be, this conversation is essential for protecting your creative work and your business.

What you actually need in 2026? A complete system — one that creates consistency whether the economy shifts, trends change, or your confidence wavers on any given day. That's exactly what we're building toward with the Client Connection System™.
In this episode, you're getting the audio version of my Booked + Valued workshop (And if you want to see the full video version and see on-screen references, you can register for the free Booked + Valued workshop [VIDEO] here), where I walk you through the three specific strategies that are actually booking photographers in today's market.
Here's what you'll walk away with:
You'll also hear real student results from Book It — Nicole who booked 9K in three days and 25K by month two, Kaleigh and Michael who booked 62K while in the program, Ariah who went from 2K to 6K packages in 90 days, and Karmen who hit a 90%+ discovery call conversion rate and brought in 69K total.

You're working hard – really hard – but something still isn't clicking. The inquiries aren't consistent, the bookings feel unpredictable, and you're starting to wonder if it's your market, your pricing, or just you. What if I told you it's none of those things? In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, I'm sharing what changes when wedding photographers build the right business foundation – and I'm letting the results speak for themselves.
Since I started tracking Book It student wins in 2025, photographers inside the program have collectively submitted $3.7 million in tracked results. In this episode, I'm sharing six of those stories — photographers who came in with inconsistent bookings, nonexistent inquiries, and businesses that weren't working for them — and showing you exactly what shifted. We're talking $40K booked by February 13th, $69K in three months, $9K in three days with a 100% conversion rate, $8K weddings booked without a single discovery call, and a photographer who delivered a contract poolside while on vacation with her family. The numbers are real. But what's underneath them — the confidence, the freedom, the feeling that your business is finally working for you instead of against you — that's the part I really want you to hear.

If bookings have felt slower lately and you've started wondering if your pricing is too high — this episode is your permission slip to stop second-guessing yourself. The truth is, your price is almost never the real problem. What's actually getting in the way is that your dream clients aren't feeling your value before they ever reach out. And that's a completely fixable thing. In this first episode of my new Pricing Conversations series, I'm breaking down the three specific places where value gets communicated in your photography business before a couple even hits send on your contact form — and why when those three things are working together, your wedding photography pricing stops feeling like something you have to justify or defend.
Whether you're struggling with getting ghosted after sending pricing, trying to book higher packages consistently, or just feeling like your photography marketing isn't converting the way it should, this episode will help you see exactly where to focus your energy. We're talking brand positioning, inquiry response strategy, and discovery call frameworks — the full client connection system that turns cold leads into dream bookings, without lowering your prices or adding more to your packages just to compete.

You don't need a perfect season, a wide open schedule, or everything figured out to build a photography business that actually works. What you need are the right foundations — and this episode is proof of exactly that. I'm sitting down with Laurel, one of my past Book It students, to walk through her full transformation story: from shooting two to three weddings and struggling with Instagram strategy and the booking process, to booking her highest wedding package at $7,500, bringing in over $16K cash while paused from the program, and hitting $20,000 in profit in January 2026 alone. If you're a wedding photographer wondering whether now is the right time to invest in your business, whether you'll have enough time to implement, or whether a photography mentorship program can actually work for someone in your specific situation — Laurel's story is going to answer a lot of those questions.
Her journey inside Book It is a real, honest look at what building a sustainable photography business actually looks like. She came in as a nurse working part-time in photography, mostly shooting seniors and families, with big dreams of making weddings her full-time focus. About halfway through the program, life happened and she had to step away — and her business kept moving anyway. Now she's nursing only one to two days a week by choice, consistently booking dream wedding clients, and experiencing her biggest revenue and profit months ever. This is what happens when you stop piecing together conflicting advice and start building on proven photography business strategies rooted in connection, brand positioning, and a booking process that converts.

If you're getting ghosted after sending pricing, wondering why inquiries aren't converting, or feeling like potential clients are choosing cheaper photographers — the problem might not be your pricing or your portfolio. Most wedding photographers think sales begins when an inquiry hits their inbox, but the truth is, your sales process started long before that first email. Your brand positioning, your online presence, your messaging, your values, how you make people feel — all of it is doing the selling (or not) before a couple ever fills out your contact form. In this episode, I'm breaking down the three biggest areas of your inquiry-to-booking process that are costing you bookings and what to do about each one — from building strategic brand positioning that attracts dream clients who are ready to book, to refining your inquiry emails so you stop getting ghosted, to leading discovery calls with confidence instead of handing the reins to the client and hoping for the best.
I'm also sharing two real stories from my own photography business that completely changed how I see the sales process — including a couple who told me on a discovery call, "We feel like we already know you and we hadn't even talked to you yet" — and how you can create that same experience for your clients through intentional brand strategy.

What if slowing down was actually the smartest business move you could make right now? I know it sounds counterintuitive—especially in an industry that glorifies the hustle and constantly showing up. But here's what I've learned after over five years of building, scaling, and sustaining a successful photography business: not everything is glass. Some things are rubber, and they can bounce for a bit while you get ahead, refine, and create space for what really matters.
All Angles Photography Podcast is taking a short break, and I'm coming back on February 13th with new episodes. This isn't coming from a place of burnout or not loving what I do—I absolutely love showing up here and sharing free, actionable education with you. But after 85 episodes of consistent content every two weeks for the past three and a half years, I'm giving myself permission to slow down so I can speed up. I'm using this time to get ahead on content, explore ways to serve you even better, and honestly just breathe a little during this season of motherhood, refinements, and running a life-first business. If you've been feeling stretched thin or like you're constantly keeping up instead of getting ahead, let this be your permission too.

What if your photography business could keep booking clients, serving couples beautifully, and generating revenue—even when you're going through the hardest season of your life? Most photographers think scaling means raising prices or shooting more weddings. But true scaling means building a business that runs without you, whether you're on vacation, navigating a personal crisis, or simply choosing to step back for a season. In this episode, I'm sitting down with Jess, one of my Scale It graduates who transformed her thriving-but-exhausting photography business into a sustainable model with an associate team, full outsourcing, and systems that gave her freedom when she needed it most.
Jess specializes in intimate weddings with 30 guests or less, and she's not just a photographer—she's also a planner and day-of coordinator for her couples. When she joined Scale It in January 2025, she was in her fourth year of business, financially successful but stuck in "creative robot mode" every busy season. Fast forward to August 2025, and Jess has built and booked her associate team, fully outsourced key areas of her business with a VA, blog and Pinterest manager, and social media manager, and created systems that allow her to serve clients seamlessly without being hands-on. Most importantly, when Jess went through a difficult personal season, her business kept running smoothly in the background—even booking four 2026 weddings in one week while she was navigating one of life's toughest transitions.

You don't need to shoot every wedding to scale your income — and my student Maddy is living proof. If you've been grinding through wedding season after wedding season, trading every weekend for income and wearing burnout like a badge of honor, this episode will show you exactly how to build an associate photography team that frees up your time while increasing your profit. Maddy joined my Scale It mentorship program in January 2025 after finishing her first full wedding season feeling completely overwhelmed. She had big goals but zero idea how to tackle them without spending her entire off-season stressed out. Just six months later, she's already cut her wedding load in half for next year, hired 3 associates, received 22 applications for her team, and booked her first associate wedding for around $4,000 in profit—without having to shoot it herself.
In this episode, Maddy shares the exact strategies she used to build her team the right way, create workflows that save her hours every week, shift her mindset around outsourcing, and finally gain the clarity and freedom she was craving. Whether you just finished your first wedding season or you've been photographing for years, this conversation will inspire you to see what's possible when you have the right systems and support in place to scale your photography business sustainably.

You're working 70-hour weeks, manually tracking every client, taking days to respond to inquiries—and while your business looks successful on paper, you're completely drowning behind the scenes. What if I told you that your highest revenue year could also be your most sustainable one? That scaling your photography business isn't about working more, but about building systems, email funnels, and strategic outsourcing that actually give you your life back?
In this episode, I'm sitting down with my Scale It graduate Nicole, a wedding and elopement photographer who transformed her business from constant overwhelm to her highest revenue year yet (and it's not even over). Nicole shares how she went from doing everything herself to booking $8-10K weddings through automated email marketing, launching an associate team that booked within the first month (though, this isn't her primary way she's scaled as she's still figuring out how it fits in her business model), adding album and print sales that skyrocketed her profit margin, and outsourcing strategically so she comes back with 3 discovery calls booked when she's been shooting in Glacier National Park. If you've been wondering whether it's actually possible to scale past your capped income without burning out, this conversation will show you exactly how.

You know that feeling when you're sitting on the couch during your baby's contact nap, desperately trying to balance your laptop while answering client emails—all while wishing you could just soak up this precious moment? In today's episode, I'm sitting down with Annika Frame, a Scale It graduate who completely transformed her fifth-year wedding photography business in just a few months. What if I told you that the photography inquiry you lost last week wasn't because your prices were too high, but because your business didn't feel professional enough? In today's behind-the-scenes episode, I'm sharing the raw truth about a recent $15,000+ wedding inquiry rejection that taught me everything about luxury client expectations, plus a $10,000 booking story where the couple chose me over cheaper photographers specifically because of my business foundations. These real client experiences reveal exactly what separates profitable wedding photographers from hobbyists in today's competitive market.
Through my recent rejection for a dream New York destination wedding, you'll discover how paying attention to client objections can transform your business strategy and why you don't need expensive gear to meet evolving market demands. Then I'll walk you through my complete booking process for a couple who had a $9,000 budget but happily paid $10,000 because of the value and professionalism I demonstrated. You'll hear direct client feedback about what made other photographers feel "lackadaisical" and unprofessional, plus learn the discovery call strategies and follow-up techniques that convert luxury inquiries even when you're the highest-priced option.

Are you an exhausted photographer feeling trapped in the endless cycle of posting on Instagram, getting ghosted by potential clients, and watching your income fluctuate wildly while you trade every weekend for barely enough profit? What if I told you that one of my Scale It students went from that exact place to booking out her entire year with Google ads, hitting $22,000 months, and creating enough financial freedom for her husband to quit his corporate job - all while spending more time with her kids? In this episode, I'm sharing Trinity's complete transformation story, from struggling with inconsistent wedding photography bookings to building a six-figure photography business with systems that actually work.
Trinity, a busy mom of two and owner of Stills by Trinity, breaks down exactly how she implemented the Scale It strategies to revolutionize her photography business. She shares the specific pricing guide changes that led to $12,000 in bookings within one week, how Google ads brought her a 20X return on investment and booked out her entire year (bringing her to 6-figures for the first time), and the mindset shifts that allowed her to build a thriving associate team. This isn't just another success story - it's a roadmap for wedding photographers who want to scale their business without sacrificing family time or burning out from constant social media marketing and nothing to show for it.

Are you convinced that outsourcing means losing control of your photography business? That no one can do it as well as you? Here's the perspective shift you need: every time you delay outsourcing, you're trading your time, energy, and presence with the people who matter most for the illusion of control. The truth is, outsourcing isn't about dropping the ball as a business owner - it's about stepping fully into your CEO role. Think about it: how many successful CEOs do you know who actually do everything themselves? They don't, and neither should you.
In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on exactly what I outsource in both my photography business and personal life, from wedding photo editing and content marketing to bookkeeping, podcast production, and even house cleaning. I'll share how I knew it was time to let go of each task, the strategic approach I use to determine what gets outsourced first, and how you can start small without feeling overwhelmed. Whether you're an established photographer drowning in editing queues during busy season or struggling to find time for the money-making parts of your business, this episode will give you the roadmap and permission you need to build a sustainable, scalable photography business that doesn't require you to sacrifice your personal life.

Getting nervous when it's time to talk pricing with potential wedding clients? You're probably not being salesy at all – you're just missing the strategy behind confident package recommendations. In this episode, I'm sharing how to sell your highest wedding photography packages without feeling pushy or sales-y by focusing on value building from your very first brand touchpoint. We'll dive into the mindset shift that transforms selling into serving, plus I'm sharing the personal discovery call story that completely changed how I approach package recommendations. Whether you're struggling with pricing confidence, getting ghosted after sending proposals, or just want to book more of your premium wedding packages, this episode will give you the photography business strategy you need.

"The photography market is so saturated" – Sound familiar? Here's the perspective shift you need: your beautiful portfolio isn't what's keeping you from booking your highest packages, and market saturation isn't real when you master what actually makes photographers stand out.
In this episode, I'm breaking down why competing on portfolio, pricing, and experience keeps wedding photographers trapped in the "starving artist" cycle, and revealing the one business foundation that eliminates competition entirely.
Most photographers think branding means having a pretty logo and website design, but I'm sharing what brand positioning actually includes and why it's the thing that will help you attract clients who book your highest packages without hesitation. From finding your unique white space in the photography industry to developing a personal brand that speaks directly to your dream clients, this episode will shift how you think about growing your photography business. If you're ready to start having ideal clients say "she's the one for us" before they even inquire, this episode is for you.
In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will hear:

If you've been piecing together free photography education for years but still find yourself accepting any client just for the income, getting ghosted by potential dream clients, and wondering why other wedding photographers seem to book consistently while you're stuck in feast or famine, this episode is going to be a wake-up call. I'm sharing the incredible transformation story of my Book It student, Toria, who went from commenting in Facebook wedding groups to booking five lead weddings and making back her entire mentorship investment in just 30 days.
Toria's journey from struggling wedding photographer to confident business owner proves that success isn't about working harder—it's about building the right business foundations. After two and a half years of trying to grow her photography business using only free education, she finally invested in herself through my Book It mentorship program and saw incredible results. Her story will show you exactly what's possible when you stop treating your photography business like a hobby and start operating as the CEO you need to become.

Your website should be working overtime (so you don't have to), but what if it's actually turning them away? You're pouring your heart into Instagram content and Pinterest pins, but potential clients are clicking away from your website faster than you can say "authentic moments." Here's the thing with increasing inquiries: it's likely not your photography skills or your marketing strategy that's the problem — it's your website itself.
After auditing hundreds of photographer websites inside my mentorship program Book It, I've discovered that even photographers who've invested four figures into professional website design are still missing these three crucial elements that convert website visitors into booked clients at their highest packages.
In this episode, I'm breaking down the exact website mistakes I see over and over again that are costing you dream clients, and more importantly, how to fix them so your website becomes your biggest selling machine. Whether you're working with a basic Squarespace template or a custom Showit design, these foundational changes will help you stand out from the crowd of other wedding photographers and attract couples who are ready to book your highest packages without hesitation.

Getting ghosted after sending your wedding photography pricing? It's probably not your pricing that's the problem. If you're constantly second-guessing whether to share your rates on your website or wait until after a discovery call, you're focusing on the wrong thing entirely. Most wedding photographers think they need to lower their prices, add more value to packages, or find the "perfect" timing to share pricing, but none of that addresses the real issue keeping you from booking consistently at premium rates.
The truth is, when you share your photography pricing matters far less than how you position your brand, craft your marketing message, and build your business foundations. Whether you're a $2,000 photographer or charging $15,000 for wedding packages, your pricing strategy success comes down to mastering your brand positioning, client experience, and sales psychology. In this episode, I'm breaking down exactly why transparency works in today's market, sharing my personal approach to pricing that's helped me book five-figure wedding packages, and revealing the three biggest roadblocks that keep photographers stuck in the feast-or-famine cycle.

Are you tired of posting "I have three spots left for 2025" on Instagram and hearing nothing but crickets? What if I told you that the problem isn't your photography skills or even your pricing – it's that you're treating your photography services like they're always available instead of creating strategic launch campaigns that make people excited to book you? Most wedding photographers rely on random Instagram inquiries and word-of-mouth referrals, leaving them feeling powerless over their sales and constantly wondering when the next booking will come. But there's a game-changing approach that could help you book thousands within days of opening your calendar.
In this episode, I'm joined by Kelsey from Coming Up Roses, the absolute launch queen who helps creative service providers turn their skills into consistent sales. We're diving deep into how photographers can apply launch strategies typically used for digital products to their photography services. Kelsey shares how she went from $100K to $450K in revenue by implementing quarterly launch campaigns, and I reveal my own waitlist strategy that's transformed how I book wedding clients. We cover everything from building effective waitlists (and nurturing them) to creating urgency without discounting your services, plus the crucial mindset shift you need to sell with confidence.

If you find yourself completely exhausted by October, dreading your next wedding weekend, or feeling like your photography business is running you instead of you running it, you're not alone. Here's the truth: photographer burnout isn't about being too busy – it's about having a reactive business structure instead of a proactive one. I know photographers who shoot 30 weddings a year and love every minute, while others burn out at just 15. The difference? How their business is structured for long-term sustainability.
In this episode, I'm sharing real strategy that helped me transform my own photography business from 33 weddings and 60-hour work weeks (where I completely lost myself) to a scalable, profitable business that serves my life instead of consuming it. We're diving deep into wedding photographer business strategies, scaling your photography business, avoiding burnout in busy season, and creating multiple revenue streams that don't require trading your time for money. This isn't surface-level self-care advice – this is about fundamentally shifting how you operate as a photography business owner and CEO.
Whether you're struggling with double headers, editing until 2 AM, or just feeling overwhelmed by your photography business workload, this episode will give you the roadmap to work less while making more. I'm sharing the importance of implementing CEO days, planning for long-term growth instead of short-term fixes, and building systems that allow your business to run without you being "on" all the time.

Ever wonder if that free contract template you're using is actually protecting your photography business? Or if calling your upfront payment a "deposit" instead of a "retainer" could cost you thousands if a client cancels? The legal side of your photography business might not be as exciting as new gear or stylized shoots, but it's the foundation that protects everything you're building. I sat down with Paige Griffith from The Legal Paige (who's both a lawyer AND a photographer!) to demystify what it really takes to run your photography business legally. Whether you're just starting out or you've been shooting for years, Paige breaks down exactly what you need to know about contracts, business insurance, and when it's time to form an LLC - all in plain English that actually makes sense.

Rather than just celebrating those vanity metrics, I'll share exactly how to optimize your social media marketing systems so that when your moment comes (and it will!), you're ready to turn that temporary visibility into photography bookings, client inquiries, or program signups (if you're an educator too).

In this second episode of the scaling series, we are talking through the 5 modern ways to scale your photography business. I began scaling back in 2021 and realized very quickly how impactful scaling could be. Just to scratch the surface, I am now booking a max of 15 weddings per year instead of 30 and I’m still hitting $25k months consistently while working 30 hours a week rather than 65.
I truly believe these 5 ways to scale are your ticket to a better work-life balance, more freedom, and more profit while still working less and still enjoying your life and your business.
So, without further ado, let’s get into these 5 ways to scale your photography business.
In this episode, we cover:

Planning for maternity leave as an entrepreneur can feel overwhelming. How long should you take off? What do you want your maternity leave to look like? What needs to get done? The thing about your maternity leave is that it’s going to look different for everyone. There is no right or wrong way to do it.
One thing I said from the very beginning when I found out I was pregnant was that I want to be a mom when I’m a mom and I want to be an entrepreneur when I’m an entrepreneur. That is why I’m so passionate about planning for this maternity leave and allowing myself to enjoy my life rather than my business feeling like a burden to me.
During this episode, I’m sharing the 7 things I did to plan for my maternity leave. Regardless of where you are in your journey, I truly hope it helps you to feel more confident in your decision of how to operate during your leave.

Have you heard about my programs and wondered what your life could look like if you were to join? Well, I’m doing something I’ve never done before! I’m bringing on one of my students, Tara to share her experience while she was in my mentorship program, Book It.
Her story is guaranteed to inspire the heck out of you! Not only did she go full-time and make $62k in her first 6 months, but she was also able to pay off over $10k in debt. Tara also raised her prices, created systems that up-leveled her client experience, and became more confident in the industry.
During our conversation, Tara opens up about her journey with going full-time and taking the leap which gave her the opportunity to make that $62k in her first 6 months of business. She says that networking and connecting with other vendors has been a huge part of what she considers to have made her successful, along with my program Book It.
I hope this episode gives you inspiration and encouragement after hearing where she was and where she is now.

Do you communicate with your couples once the wedding is over? In the past, I have talked about the pre-booking client experience and even the client experience while you’re actively serving your couple. However, I’ve never actually talked about how to continue to give a client experience after the event is over.
In this snapshots episode, I’m sharing my strategies for maintaining a client relationship after the wedding, including delivering previews, engaging on social media, and sending personalized notes and gifts. Your post-client communication doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You can keep it simple and effective without being overly extravagant.

The thought of raising your prices can feel daunting, especially if you don’t know where to begin. You may be asking yourself, “When is it time to raise prices?” “How much do I raise my prices?” “Am I worth charging this much?” My guest today, Nathan Chanski, is an expert on raising your prices and maximizing your demand as a photographer.
Nathan is a wedding photographer, a business coach, and a course creator based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He runs a full-time photography business, education, and coaching platform for photographers. He’s also the host of The Passion with Purpose Podcast, a podcast for photographers and creators. His primary passion is always centered around glorifying God through everything he does, building a life with his wife, Kayla, and inspiring individuals to create the life and career of their full potential.
Nathan has talked about pricing quite a bit and I love the perspective he brings. We talk a lot about maximizing your demand and how to increase demand around your brand specifically. We also talk about the value of how you’re presenting yourself.
There is so much we cover and you will find so much value from my conversation with Nathan.

In this snapshots episode, we are covering a question that was submitted by quite a few of you and that was how to lead a discovery call. Discovery calls have the ability to make or break your sales process, so I understand why so many of you asked this question.
By the time a client gets to the point of inquiring with you and booking a discovery call with you, they are in that second phase of the marketing funnel, so this call really is the final step before a couple gets to the third phase, which is hiring you.
We are diving into why discovery calls matter in the first place, how I view discovery calls, how I remain the leader of the conversation during those calls, and how I measure the success of a discovery call.

A huge goal for so many photographers is to reach six figures, whether that just looks like a hundred thousand or you actually have the goal to profit six figures, which I personally do yearly. As someone who has gone from charging $2K for weddings to charging $5K for weddings, and then now up to $10K for weddings, I want to share what some of those differences might look like between the $2K range and the $5K range. I’m also talking about how to get from one tier to the other.
A lot of this does depend on your location, expertise, and experience. So, we’re going to talk through all of these things as well as reverse engineer what your goal is and what would be needed from you to be able to reach that goal.

This is the first Snapshots episode, and today, we are diving into a question about associate teams. This question was submitted by Cassie, and she asked, “What was the biggest lesson you learned through having an associate team?”
I started my associate team in 2022 and it has been one of the most rewarding ways I have scaled. There are definitely lessons that have come with it, and it’s something I teach in-depth inside of my mentorship program Scale It, but today, I plan to share some positive lessons I’ve learned, as well as some not-so-great lessons.
My hope is that it will help you avoid some of the common mistakes and pitfalls that I’ve made in my own business so you can scale in a way that feels easy because that’s what it’s all about, my friend.

Are you about to make a big move, or thinking about making one soon? It can be scary to make the move, especially if you already have an established business where you are, but I know from experience that it’s possible.
I moved my photography business from Tennessee to Colorado just within one year of starting my business, and it definitely threw me for a loop. I was already established and successful in the Tennessee market, so having to completely uproot that and move was a learning curve for sure.
While this is more of a niched episode for a niched kind of audience, you may be moving sometime soon or even just thinking about possibly moving in the future, so I hope this will be helpful for you to share my experience of what attributed to my success quickly, even in a saturated market.

Have you ever felt really aligned, whether in your business or life, with all of the direction you’re taking or the moves you’re making? Where you’re honoring your core values and what makes you, you, and it all just feels so easy?
Then, maybe life throws a curveball at you, good or bad, that requires some kind of pivot, and then that pivot or season of life or business feels misaligned. Have you ever been there? I know I have, and my hope is to share a little bit of the behind-the-scenes for me being in a very huge pivot of entering motherhood and owning my own business, and how I have been feeling a bit misaligned in my own pivot recently.
I want you to know that you’re not alone if you’ve ever found yourself in this kind of season, and I hope to give you some next steps on how to get out of it.

When it comes to Instagram, it seems like we’re always being told to focus on the algorithm, use trending audio, you need to have a ton of followers, etc. I’ve seen so many of my students get stuck on the content creation. They usually feel as if they have to post more educational content to “give value.”
If this is something you can relate to, then this episode is for you because I am giving you more knowledge on how to create some more white space in your content, also known as thought leadership content.
I’m sharing what thought leadership content is, how you can figure out your own white space, and an example of how you can turn an overused piece of content into thought leadership content.

Want to know the key to continuously bring in new inquiries? It’s evergreen content. Within the last half year or so, I have not been marketing my photography services on Instagram or any other platform. The main way I’ve been marketing is just by having my organic website search and also the evergreen content I’ve created over the years.
This is such a powerful way to get out of that rat race of having to constantly post on Instagram, and so I want to teach you how to create evergreen content for your own business so you can bring in new inquiries in this organic way.
You are going to learn what evergreen content is, how to know if you’re creating a good piece of evergreen content, how to even create it, and how to use Pinterest in conjunction with your blogs to optimize for SEO even further.

Something that has been on my heart for a while is wanting to change my business Instagram account into more of a personal account. Even though my business account has always been more so personal, I felt this was a needed change this year. Some of the reasons are more personal, while some are more strategy, but I’m sharing the 3 main reasons why I’ve decided to make this pivot.
This change feels so exciting and freeing for me, because it will take a lot of pressure off of having the perfect feed, but will also give you more relatable content. So, if you are feeling any kind of tugging or pulling to go in the same direction, I want you to consider this your permission slip to also do the same or a similar thing that feels good to you. I will be rooting for you! I truly think 2024 is going to be the year of less curation.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always loved seeing other people’s year-end recaps and what they accomplished because I truly am cheering on every single person, whether I know them or not. When you hear the term, “personal brand,” what do you think that means? Is it showing up on stoires face to camera talking about your editing list? What about showing your dog every now and then? If you think this is enough to be a “personal brand,” then this episode is going to challenge you to think again about that.
We are talking all about what having a personal brand REALLY means and why it’s a non-negotiable, as well as the benefits of having a personal brand as a photographer and how to even begin creating one.
There’s a lot that goes into personal branding that we won’t be able to get into, but I do want to touch on the high points as to why this is so important and what you could be missing out on if you’re not strategic with the personal pieces of your life that you do share, because personal branding is such a key to standing out in this saturated industry and booking couples who are aligned with you.

Do you find yourself struggling with the legal aspects of your photography business? I’m sharing some legal things that you NEED in your business. Some are not-so-typical recommendations that you probably don’t typically hear, but after running my own photography business for almost 4 years now, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned. It’s so much better to do this now so you can save yourself a huge headache in the future.
Now, before we get started, I want to share that I’m a photographer, not a lawyer or an accountant. Please do your own research before blindly listening to anyone’s advice, even mine, especially when I’m just a photographer just like you.
It’s my hope that this episode takes some stress out of the legal side of your business. Whether you are new or established, I know it can be helpful just to hear how other people do things, but I hope this is a breath of fresh air where you can feel just a little bit more confident in your business.

Have you ever thought that scaling your business is passive? Do you think of scaling as “six-figures” because you see that as the dream all over the place? Have you thought of scaling as just pivoting into education or selling digital products? Maybe you’ve thought of scaling as increasing your pricing or opening a studio to take on more creative shoots? Have you felt like you don’t have enough experience to scale or felt like it’s not possible for you?
This is just a sneak peek into all of the myths we’re talking about in depth and you can expect that I’m going to bust these myths and give you the why behind why they aren’t true. At the same time, we are going to chat through some of the misconceptions I have discovered from having so many conversations around scaling your photography business with photographers over the last year.

We are continuing with the scaling series, and talking specifically about how I got to the point in my business where I have a work/life balance and could enjoy 2 weeks completely off while in Japan in May while barely working the rest of the month and still bringing in 5 figures.
My hope is that this will leave you feeling inspired with some tangible takeaways on how you can set your business up in a way that actually supports your work/life balance rather than you having to be a slave to your business in order to be “profitable.”
So, let’s dive into today’s episode where I’m holding nothing back, including the hard parts of talking about money and scaling your business.

If you’re struggling with booking your dream couples, there could be one thing that holding you back. It’s something we see so much and it’s so normal to see in the industry.
This topic that I am sharing is something I shared over my Instagram this past week, and the response was so good I thought it would be a great idea to do an unfiltered episode about this to share it with even more photographers because it’s also not talked about from an education perspective.
While this is going to give you some tough love, I promise you it comes from a place of love because I truly care for you. My hope is that this helps shift your perspective because if you find yourself doing this one thing, you are probably actually waving goodbye to a bunch of potential bookings with your dream couples.
So, let’s get into this unfiltered episode that I hope helps you so much!

In today’s episode, I want to give you a quick snapshot at some of my favorite business books that I’ve read as a photographer. All of these have helped in different ways and in different seasons of my business. Books are a great way to learn from some of the industry leaders in a strategic and wholesome way. While they are not specifically focused on photography, you can still take each of the application pieces from these books and apply them to your photography business.
I’m excited to share these with you because these have been pivotal to some of my growth and how I have approached business as a whole. You can find these books in my Amazon storefront if any of them resonate with you.

Let me be clear that this is not an episode where I am pitching one of my programs to you, so I wanted to preface with that. By all means if you relate to my teaching style, this episode hits home for you, and you know that one of my educational offerings could potentially help you, then I’d love nothing more than to get to know you. But, truthfully, I wanted to talk about this topic on an episode because every educator or service provider pushes the narrative that you need to invest. It can be hard to drown out the noise.
Think about that VA always pushing their Pinterest services, or the educator constantly promoting their offers with a sense of urgency and scarcity. You hear enough of that elsewhere, so that’s not what this episode is.
This episode is to educate you on all the things to consider when it comes to the many educational courses, programs, products, free trainings, or even the ways you can outsource in your business.
So objectively, here's what you will learn in this episode:
+ what investing actually means (time, energy, and money)+ when it's actually a good time to invest in your business+ how to determine whether an investment is worth it+ what to prioritize investing in+ mistakes that you can avoid+ how to actually prioritize your investments as well (because I know a majority of you have some kind of course, just gathering dust in your inbox - I’ve done it too)

Have you been struggling with organization in your photography business? In today’s episode, I’m sharing one of my favorite organization tools, Notion, and how you can use it in your business. I know organization can be a foreign thing to most of us creative entrepreneurs, and for me, since I was a nurse, organization has always been ingrained in me since that time, but Notion has made my entrepreneurship journey so much more organized and much more fun too! If you don’t know this about me already, aesthetics are equally as important to me as functionality, and Notion, in my opinion, is visually appealing. Another bonus is that it’s free! Notion can be quite overwhelming at first to understand the ins and outs, but hopefully, this episode will give you guidance on how you can use it in your photography business.
And after learning about Notion, if you decide you want this kind of organization in your own business, just know I released my first Notion template for creative entrepreneurs. My hope for this template is that it makes organization a bit easier in your business to save you time. You can also use the special discount code I created just for my podcast listeners LAUNCH20 until May 26th!
Now let’s get into the biggest ways I use Notion in my business!

Your client experience may be impacting your inquiries and bookings. We all want to be booked out with a full calendar and work with our dream couples, but client experience is truly one of the most important things that will set your business apart from the many photographers your potential couple is inquiring with. If you think of client experience as sending a questionnaire, a guide, or even simply giving a gift, there’s so much more to client experience than that. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, we will do some reframing on why you should care about client experience.
I'll be touching on 2 important reasons you should care about client experience from a before-booking perspective. Meaning before a couple inquires with you, your client experience could be impacting the number of inquiries you have coming in or that you're converting into bookings. Tune into this short and actionable episode and start auditing your marketing and website so you can hopefully see an increase in your inquiries and bookings.

Have you wondered how to create a genuine relationship with a planner? What makes a planner want to refer a photographer? What is helpful, and what's overstepping? How can we be beneficial to the planner before, during, and after the wedding day? How do we negotiate the best timeframe for sunset portraits? Should we expect to collaborate or pay for styled shoots?
Sydney Kuhne from Wildly in Love is joining us for this episode and I found that while talking to Sydney, I still had questions about the best way to work as a team with planners. Sydney has a ton of experience (over 8 years) in the wedding industry, so you can expect her to DISH on all of her experience and tips.

Outsourcing is a hot topic on this podcast. I can barely finish one episode without speaking about it because it's truly changed my life - not to be dramatic. You deserve to learn more about this and hear more about it in an episode completely dedicated to it.
Outsourcing is important for growth and sanity. If you've ever felt like outsourcing isn't an option for you, whether because of fear or thinking you can do everything yourself better than someone else can do it, this episode will help you combat those 2 very limiting beliefs.
My own personal virtual assistant, Sarah Crum, will be chatting about all things outsourcing to a VA. If you've wondered how a VA can uplevel your biz, we will chat about tasks they can take on, marketing areas of importance, Pinterest, when it's time to outsource to a VA, general onboarding process, how to find a VA, bad experiences, and more.
Tune in and get ready to revolutionize your business!

Do you find yourself being interrupted during your deep work constantly by your phone or your computer when it comes to emails? Maybe you want to respond quickly to every email or DM so you find yourself not really getting anything done on your to-do list? Maybe you get to the end of a work day and you feel like your inbox is just running your life and overtaking your entire to-do list? I’ve been there, my friend.
As soloprenuers, many times we feel the pressure to instantly respond to emails in order to be productive, and while I love inbox 0, the reality is, it’s not sustainable to have your inbox open and in the background refreshing every minute. We’re going to talk about time blocking, boundaries, notification settings, snoozing (and I don’t mean sleeping), scheduling out emails, and so much more.
