Today’s guest is Taylor Elyse Morrison, who takes a practical and accessible approach to self-care that meets you where you’re at. She is a founder of a media company, author of the book Inner Workout, and was recently named one of Fortune’s 10 Innovators Shaping the Future of Health. We discuss the recent controversy surrounding Gwyneth Paltrow’s self care, and then how to assess whether you are burnt out and how to focus on your holistic well being. Taylor provides so many wonderful tips to identify what is draining your energy and how to overcome burnout as an entrepreneur, and then we go deep into some things that I have struggled with that affect my role as a business owner. If you’re feeling burnt out, or bad at self care while working full time or as an entrepreneur, you’ll want to hit “play” and tune in. Personally, I don't love to talk about weight because I think weighing yourself on a scale isn't very helpful, and it’s just another superficial way to try and feel happy. As women our bodies go through a lot! Whether its society's demands of what a postpartum body should (which often involves dieting and exercise) or engaging in risky diet habits that result in the loss of your period, we’re always being told what we should and shouldn’t do. Running your own business as a dietitian doesn’t mean solely providing services, there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into starting and sustaining entrepreneurial work. In today’s episode, I talked to Andie, a registered dietician, as well as a former student of my Online Entrepreneur Academy. She shares her own experiences starting her own online coaching program after leaving the clinical world.
During our conversation, Andie talks about how her own experience led her to become an RD. She speaks on dealing with burnout, the biggest takeaways she learned from OEA, and how you can launch your own group program.

For those of you who have been following me on my journey, I finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Harper, 7lbs and 10 ounces born on November 15 after spending 40 weeks and 3 days in my belly. I was flooded with questions in my DM’s about my experience of giving birth and I want to sit down and answer as many questions as I can. I also have a blog post up with all the details. During today’s episode, I talk about my birth story with my husband Zack! I have always been open with you guys and sharing my experience with pregnancy and giving birth is definitely something I want to do. I cover everything from having to schedule an induction (which does NOT make you a failure) and allowing my body to do what it needs to do, what my hospital experience was like and why it felt nice to labour while I was sitting on the toilet. I honestly had no idea what to expect going into labour (despite reading some things online), however I hope you find this podcast episode as well as blog post a source of education that will help you learn more about what you might expect during pregnancy. For me my contractions happened so quickly, it felt like one second I was checking into the hospital and the next moment I was in a lot of pain (it was worth it though). Everyone’s birth story is different and at the end of the day you are a rockstar for giving birth no matter your birth story! In this episode, we cover: * Leading up to the birth: dealing with a scheduled induction and trying to listen to my body [2:04] * Checking into the hospital, preparing my body for birth and taking Pitocin [6:54] * Dilation, dealing with contractions and getting an epidural: everything moves really quickly [13:27] * What labour actually feels like and getting ready for the actual birthing part [20:02] * Time to start pushing: trying to remain calm, feeling scared and baby’s heart rate dropping [28:09] * Our lives are forever changed [37:03] * Answering questions from our DMs [43:13]

Pregnancy is a rollercoaster, both pre and postpartum. Motherhood is a journey, and the body is truly so resilient. The body is going to change and it evolves as it needs to and being in the present moment, learning to accept with grace all the changes we face, as mentioned by today’s guest, will be the most rewarding thing for you to do.
In today’s episode, I talk to Alexis, a dear friend of mine whom I met at the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo nearly 10 years ago. In addition to working in the dietetics field, Alexis is also a new mom.
During our conversation, Alexis shares why she is so transparent on social media and how it’s helped her heal, feeling overwhelmed with trying to make the right choices and why our bodies are meant to change and serve a greater purpose. As a new mom Alexis discusses why momhood is all about learning things on the fly, and how it is a real and vulnerable time about reconnecting with your body and learning what it is capable of accomplishing.

For some, the gym can be a scary place, let alone working with a personal trainer. Either from experience or hearing other people's anecdotes, it seems like personal trainers only focus on fat loss and that is it. Often, these trainers may not have good relationships with their own bodies and with food, and they're projecting that onto their clients. What does the alternative look like?
In today’s episode, I talk to Kira Onysko, a non-diet focused personal trainer. She helps her clients reach their fitness goals, stay more consistent, increase their motivation, without an emphasis on their weight loss and body from an outward aesthetic perspective.
During our conversation, Kira shares why fitness trainers' language causes more damage than they think when it comes to their clients fitness goals, why health is more than what you eat (that pizza slice is nothing to feel guilty over), and learning to ditch the toxic mindset around fitness. As a recent newlywed Kira also shares her journey of preparing for a wedding without the stress of needing to be in a certain size.

Fitness is an important part of any lifestyle, but what happens when diet culture and controlling food habits become a large part of your life? A controlling eating habit can look innocent at first, counting macros to adopting a paleo lifestyle, but it starts to cross the line when you begin to restrict yourself from eating because you feel nothing fits your dietary restrictions.
In today’s episode, I talk to Molly, a teacher based in NYC who has been on her intuitive eating journey for over a year.
During our conversation, Molly shares the diets she tried prior to doing the food freedom breakthrough program, and the polarities of diet culture. She shares how she immersed herself in diet culture in college during her fitness journey, the micromanaging and controlling habits of counting macros, and how to finally trust your body.

As people begin their journey to healing their relationship with food, the element of gentle nutrition is the last step in the cycle of repair and reset. When it comes to gentle nutrition, the first thing you need to consider is whether or not you are ready for this step. You don’t have to be perfect in practice but it is important to ask yourself how you are able to cope with feelings of guilt, anxiety and stress as you navigate and repair your relationship with food. In today’s episode, I’m talking to Colleen, who is not only one of my closest friends and advocates, she is also a registered dietician who shares her amazing insight into life and gentle nutrition. During our conversation, Colleen speaks on the responsibility of sharing positive and realistic food choices as a content creator and helping people realize nutrition does not have to be perfect. She shares key elements to focus on when it comes to gentle nutrition, why nutrition still plays an important role in a healthy food relationship and why micromanaging your diet does more damage than good when it comes to gentle nutrition. In this episode, we cover: * Colleen explains the importance of sharing realistic examples of intuitive eating on her IG stories [4:50] * The 3 tips to live by when thinking about gentle nutrition [9:40] * As a registered dietician, Colleen shares the key takeaways when it comes to the nutrition part of gentle nutrition [16:05] * Gentle nutrition is not about micromanaging what you eat, it’s about what’s sustainable on a daily basis and taking those baby steps [23:21] * Colleen shares why she made the switch to being a food freedom dietician and what she’s surprised to learn over the years from her clients [32:16] * How the narrative of weight loss and quick wins plays into gentle nutrition [41:12]
