Today I talk to about the Village of Liverpool election on June 18th. There is a proposition on the ballot to move the elections to November as well as two unopposed village trustee positions. I also give an update on #earlyvoting for the June Federal and local primary. Enjoy.

One of their promises was to give the village voters a choice to move elections to November, which they will on the village election ballot June 18th. Today was the last day to file independent nominating petitions in Onondaga County and New York State. We had filings for US President, United States Senate, NY Congressional district 22, Assembly District 127, and Village of Fayetteville. I go over the candidates and some surprising wrinkles. Enjoy.
This week I sit down with Tom Speaker of Re-invent Albany. This good government group is focused on transparency in Albany as well as campaign finance and election administration. As legislative director we talk about Tom's work to move Albany into the light. Enjoy.
In a special Monday edition I talk about the annual school district elections happening tomorrow. Every school district will be running an election on Tuesday May 21, 2024, except the City of Syracuse which holds them in odd years in November. BOEs don't run the elections for school districts so contact the school districts for further information. Enjoy.
This week I sit down with Ben Weinberg of Citizens Union. We talk about the move to have elections for many offices on even years. A recently introduced amendment will move cities and judges around 2030. We will talk about the implications and next steps.

This week I sit down with the Grandfather of NY Redistricting, Jeff Wice of the New York Law School. We go over the bipartisan maps passed by the NY legislature, why they rejected and slightly altered the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission maps. I talk about the state of NY Congressional redistricting now that the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission submitted bi partisan maps on February 15th. I do a bit od a history lesson going back to 2010 on how we got here and the paths forward for the NYS legislature. This week I talk about the first day of the County Wide Hand Count at Onondaga County Board of Elections. We determined winners in 3 of the smaller races but will need 4 or 5 more days to finish the County Clerk hand count. I update on our progress and the process in place.
Today I give an update of where the Onondaga County Board of Elections leaves off going into the Thanksgiving holiday in wrapping up the 2023 election and preparing for the countywide recount. I also pontificate a bit on politics over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Today I talk about the final canvass results for absentees and Affidavits and the four races Onondaga County Board of Elections has declared eligible for the handcount. For the second year straight we will be counting over 90k ballots by hand to determine winners. #everyvotecounts

I talked about my trip last week to represent New York in the local leadership council for the Elections Assistance Commission. It was a good trip with a lot of learning from the brightest election minds in the United States as well as the history of the EAC and the many ways they help voters throughout the United States.

Our morning was filled with internal meetings where bi partisan officials discussed our agreed upon principles and plan for action over the next few days. I participated in meetings with high level staff at Department of Justice and the White House at the old executive office building. Great full day.
